What It Takes to Clear Level 1020 Board

You win this level by directing your ants to eat every single colored pixel and breaking the chocolate block entirely. Your ants will crawl out of the dark nest hole at the bottom and find the shortest path to their matching color. You must choose blocks from the tray carefully. If you fill all five waiting slots and no ants can reach their target, the board jams and you fail the level. Success requires balancing your block choices so the ants always have an open path to chew on. You want to peel the picture away layer by layer from the bottom up.

Colony Flow Level 1020 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Send yellow and orange ants to eat the left dog.

Begin your match by pulling the 30 yellow block and the 14 orange block from the starting tray. The yellow and orange ants will stream out of the nest and head straight for the sitting dog on the left side of the picture. The sitting dog on the left side has a mix of dark and light fur. The yellow ants target the main body while the orange ants eat the darker shading. Pulling the 42 light yellow block next will send dozens of ants to clear out the bright highlights on both dogs. You want to focus heavily on the left side early in the match because it opens up a wide path toward the top half of the board. Keep an eye on your five waiting slots. Give the ants enough time to march up the board and begin eating before you pull too many blocks into the slots.

Step 2: Open the right side using white and cyan blocks.

With the left dog shrinking, you need to create a second front on the right side. Pull the 28 white block up into a waiting slot. The white ants will travel up the right edge and begin eating the puffy white clouds floating in the sky. Once the white ants clear away the bottom edge of the clouds, pull a 30 cyan block. The cyan ants will follow the white ants and begin chewing away at the blue sky above the right dog. By working both the left and right sides of the board at the same time, you ensure your ants do not crowd a single path and create a bottleneck. This strategy keeps your slots moving smoothly. Do not pull the magenta blocks just yet. You want the white and cyan ants to completely expose the right side of the red seesaw structure first.

Step 3: Dismantle the red seesaw with magenta blocks.

The red seesaw separating the two dogs is now fully exposed to your nest. Pull the 12 magenta block from your tray. The magenta ants will run straight up the middle and attack the dark red bottom of the seesaw. You will soon see a connected block in your tray featuring a 5 magenta box and another color. Pull this connected group into your waiting slots. The ants will chew right through the center of the picture. Breaking the seesaw divides the remaining picture into smaller floating islands of colorful pixels. This division makes pathing much easier for your ants to navigate. Whenever you pull a connected block, always make sure the first color in the chain has an immediate open target on the board.

Step 4: Attack the massive chocolate block at the top.

The chocolate block sitting at the very top of the sky has a massive 200 point requirement. It physically covers and blocks the food tiles underneath until cleared. You need to send a massive swarm of ants to break it down completely. Pull the 46 brown block into your slots. Brown ants will march up the open paths you created and start eating the chocolate. Keep pulling any large numbered blocks you see in the tray to keep constant pressure on the chocolate. The bodies of the dogs are mostly gone by this point, leaving wide open paths straight to the top of the board. Do not let your waiting slots fill up with colors that cannot reach the top. You must prioritize feeding the chocolate block until it shatters and reveals the hidden sky tiles beneath it.

Step 5: Clear the remaining cyan sky.

Once the giant chocolate block breaks apart, the remaining cyan sky tiles hidden behind it are finally vulnerable. Pull the 40 cyan block from your tray. A huge line of cyan ants will rush the top of the board and consume the newly revealed sky patches. You will likely see connected blocks featuring pink and maroon colors pop up in your tray during this phase. Use these connected blocks to clean up any leftover bits of the seesaw or the standing dog on the right. The top right corner might have a few stray white cloud pixels remaining from earlier. Pull the 24 white block to send ants to finish those off. Your board is getting very empty now. The risk of a slot jam is extremely low as long as you match your tray colors to the few remaining pixels.

Step 6: Eliminate the green grass at the bottom.

You have ignored the green grass for most of the level, but now it is time to clear it away. Pull the 30 light green block and the 40 dark green block into your slots. The green ants do not have to travel very far from the nest hole to reach their food source. They will quickly devour the thick layers of grass forming the ground at the bottom of the picture. Because the travel distance is so short, the numbered blocks in your waiting slots will count down very fast and disappear. This rapid clearing speed gives you total freedom to pull the remaining heavy blocks from your bottom tray without fear. Pull the 50 dark green block next. The ants will swarm the lower half of the board and eat away almost all the remaining green tiles.

Step 7: Clean up the final scattered pixels to win.

Only a few random pixels remain scattered across the empty board. Look at your tray and find the connected blocks with maroon, cyan, and dark green colors. Pull the large 37 maroon block into your slots. Then pull the connected chain featuring a 29 cyan block linked to a 32 dark green block. Your ants will split up into different groups and hunt down the last remaining dots of color. The cyan ants will finish the absolute highest tip of the sky near the edge of the frame. The green ants will munch the final blade of grass near the nest. Watch closely as the last pixel vanishes and the board clears completely.
