Colony Flow Level 422 Overview
What You Are Working With
You start this level staring at a large pixel art picture of a genie character. The character features a light blue body with a bright red belt and white facial details. A massive border of dark purple tiles surrounds the entire character and fills the edges of the board. Two large chest obstacles sit right on top of the picture and block the bottom half of the board. These chests act as Hungry Doors. The yellow Hungry Door on the left requires exactly 7 yellow ants to open. The red Hungry Door on the right requires exactly 14 red ants. Down in your tray you have a chaotic mix of dark purple, white, light blue, yellow, and red numbered blocks. You will also notice several Hidden Boxes sitting in the tray. These gray blocks feature question marks and refuse to show their true colors until they have a valid path to move forward.
What It Takes to Clear Level 422 Board
You clear this board by feeding every single colored tile to your growing colony of ants. You must match the colored numbered blocks from your tray to the exposed matching tiles on the pixel art picture above. You also have to feed the exact required number of ants to the two Hungry Doors to break them wide open. The absolute core challenge of this level is managing your five waiting slots. If you pull a block from the tray and the ants have no open path to reach their matching color, that block sits uselessly in a waiting slot. If you fill all five slots with blocked colors you lose the level instantly. You have to alternate your block pulls carefully to keep the ants flowing and the waiting slots completely empty.
Colony Flow Level 422 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Open paths into the dark purple background border.
The outer edges of the board consist entirely of dark purple tiles. You need to create working room immediately so you do not jam your waiting slots early in the level. Look at your tray and locate the dark purple blocks. You will see large numbers like 34 and 38 available right at the front. Pull a dark purple block up into your waiting slots. The ants will stream out of the nest hole and march straight to the outer border. They will eat away the dark purple tiles and slowly shrink the heavy background. This action accomplishes two major goals for your board state. First it removes a huge chunk of the puzzle and gives your future ants a much shorter travel distance. Second it pulls the tray forward and reveals the true colors hiding inside the gray Hidden Boxes. Always wait for the ants to finish a large block before crowding your waiting slots with another heavy number.
Step 2: Clear the white facial features to expose the character body.
Look at the face of the genie character in the center of the board. You will see white tiles making up the eyes and the bright teeth. These white tiles block access to the light blue tiles directly behind them. Check your tray for a white block. You will see a white block with the number 16 ready to go. Pull this white block into your waiting slots. The white ants will travel straight up the center of the board and consume the facial features. By clearing these white tiles you open up multiple new paths into the light blue body of the genie. You must always clear small detail colors before you try to tackle the main body colors. If you pull a light blue block too early it will sit in your waiting slot and put you in danger of losing the level.
Step 3: Attack the red Hungry Door and clear the red belt.
The red Hungry Door is a massive obstacle blocking the right side of the genie character. It proudly displays the number 14. You also have a bright red belt wrapped around the middle of the genie. You must destroy this chest and eat the belt to reach the tiles trapped underneath them. Look through your tray for red blocks. You will find a red block with an 8 to start with. Pull a red block into your slots to send red ants charging up the board. The ants will hit the door and eat the belt at the same time. Keep an eye on your tray and pull enough red blocks to bring the Hungry Door counter all the way down to zero. Breaking the red Hungry Door opens up the entire right half of the board. This gives your dark purple ants and light blue ants completely clear paths to reach their targets. Never pull a red block if the door is already gone because you have no other red tiles on this board.
Step 4: Send light blue ants to eat the main character body.
With the white facial features gone and the red Hungry Door completely destroyed you have massive open paths to the light blue tiles. The genie body makes up the vast majority of the center picture. Search your tray for the light blue blocks. You will find several blocks with large numbers like 35 and 30 waiting for you. Pull a light blue block up into your waiting slots. The light blue ants will swarm the character and eat away the chest and the head. You can safely play a light blue block alongside a dark purple block right now. Sending two colors at once keeps the tray moving and prevents your five slots from filling up with unplayable colors. Just ensure both colors have a wide open path on the board before you make the pull.
Step 5: Begin feeding the yellow Hungry Door on the left side.
The left side of your board still suffers from the yellow Hungry Door blocking the tiles beneath it. This door requires 7 yellow ants to open completely. Check your tray for a small yellow block. You will find a yellow 5 block waiting for you. Pull this yellow block into your waiting slots. The yellow ants will march to the left side and strike the Hungry Door. The counter will drop from 7 down to a smaller number. Do not panic about finishing the door in one single move. You just want to get the process started so the tray continues to slide forward and reveal new blocks. Leaving a small number on the door is perfectly fine while you handle other colors.
Step 6: Keep the dark purple and light blue paths flowing smoothly.
The board is getting much smaller but the danger of jamming your slots is actually higher right now. You have limited dark purple tiles remaining on the outer edges and a shrinking pile of light blue tiles in the center. Your tray is still packed with large numbers. You must carefully alternate your pulls to survive. Pull a dark purple block and let the ants work on the background. Then pull a light blue block and let those ants work on the remaining genie body. If you pull three dark purple blocks in a row you run a massive risk of filling your slots while the ants are still busy eating. Let the ants finish their meals before you crowd the waiting area with fresh blocks. Patience here guarantees your victory.
Step 7: Finish off the yellow Hungry Door completely.
The yellow Hungry Door only has a tiny number left on its counter. Find another small yellow block in your newly revealed tray tiles. You will see a yellow 1 or a yellow 4 available. Pull it up to your waiting slots. The yellow ants will rush the door and finally bring the counter to zero. The yellow Hungry Door will vanish from the board completely and leave empty space behind. This action exposes a large patch of dark purple tiles tucked into the bottom left corner of the board. You now have zero obstacles remaining. Every tile left on the board is fully exposed and ready to be eaten. You successfully managed your waiting slots through the hardest part of the puzzle.
Step 8: Clear the final tiles to win the board.
You only have two groups of tiles left to manage. A small piece of the light blue genie head remains at the top of the board. A thick chunk of dark purple tiles sits in the bottom left corner where the yellow door used to be. Look at your tray and pull the final light blue blocks to finish the head. Then pull your remaining heavy dark purple blocks into your waiting slots. The dark purple blocks will feature numbers like 33 and 17. The ants will swarm that bottom corner and eat the very last tiles on the board. Since you saved these dark purple blocks for the very end you never risked jamming your slots. Watch the ants clear the final pixel and celebrate your absolute win.
