Welcome to Colony Flow Level 298. This board brings a massive visual obstacle right in the middle of your screen. You have to manage a giant locked door while clearing a huge solid background before you even know what the main picture really is. I will show you exactly how to break this board down and keep your waiting slots completely clear.
Colony Flow Level 298 Overview
What You Are Working With
When you start this level you see a massive solid green background covering most of the board. Scattered across this green field are several orange plus shapes. On the left side of the screen you can spot two large purple balloons with dark purple strings. The most intimidating part of the board sits on the middle right side. A giant brown Hungry Door dominates the area and covers whatever hides underneath it. This door has a large blue gem on it and requires 40 blue ants to open. Your tray at the bottom is packed with very large green blocks. You can see numbers like 50 and 125 ready to go. Hidden under those green blocks are dark blue, dark purple, pink, black, and white blocks.
What It Takes to Clear Level 298 Board
To win this level you must completely remove the green background to create open paths for your ants. You need to feed 40 blue ants into the Hungry Door to make it disappear. Opening that door reveals a hidden pink animal figure resting on more green tiles. You will then need to clear the newly exposed green tiles before dismantling the pink animal and the scattered orange plus shapes. Through this whole process you must watch your five waiting slots. If you send too many blocks into the slots without an open path to their matching colors you will jam the board and lose. The trick is to pace your large block taps so the ants always have a place to go.
Colony Flow Level 298 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Clear the outer green background first
Your first move is to tackle the overwhelming amount of green tiles covering the board. Look at your tray at the bottom of the screen and find the very large green blocks. You have one block with the number 50 and another massive block holding 125. Tap these blocks to send them up into your waiting slots. The green ants will immediately pour out of the dark nest hole above the tray and spread across the entire outer edge of the screen. They will aggressively eat away the green tiles and shrink the solid background down to a much smaller size. This action is very important because it opens up wide paths around the balloons and the giant center door. Keep a close eye on your five waiting slots as the green ants work. The numbers on your green blocks will count down rapidly because there is so much green exposed and available to eat. Do not tap any other colors from the tray just yet. Just let the green ants do their job and clear the outer perimeter safely.
Step 2: Send blue ants to the center door
Once the green background shrinks down you can finally start working on the Hungry Door. The door clearly shows the number 40 and features a large blue gem in the middle. Look down at your tray and find the dark blue block showing the number 49. Tap this dark blue block to send it up into an empty waiting slot. The dark blue ants will march straight out of the nest hole toward the center of the board and begin feeding the door. The large number 40 on the door will slowly count down as each ant arrives. Because your block holds 49 ants you will have exactly enough to satisfy the door requirement with a few ants left over. Those nine extra blue ants will simply finish their walking animation and leave the board once the door is completely full.
Step 3: Remove the dark balloon strings
While the blue ants are busy feeding the central door you should keep your board active and productive. Over on the left side of the screen you have two large purple balloons with dark purple strings and dark outlines. Find the dark purple block in your tray. Tap it to send it into a waiting slot alongside your active blue block. The dark purple ants will travel up the left side of the board and start erasing the dark outlines and the strings of the balloons. Since the green background is mostly gone these dark purple ants have a perfectly clear path to their target tiles. By running the dark purple block at the exact same time as the blue block you keep your completion time fast without risking a jam in your limited waiting slots.
Step 4: Expose the hidden pink animal picture
You do not need to tap a new block for this step but you must wait for a major board change to happen. The blue ants will eventually bring the Hungry Door counter all the way down to zero. At that moment the giant brown door will shatter and vanish from the board completely. This action reveals a massive hidden section that was blocked from view the entire time. Underneath the door you will find a cute pink animal that looks like a sleeping pig. This pink figure is surrounded by a brand new layer of green background tiles and a few more orange plus shapes. The board suddenly looks very different than it did a moment ago. Your waiting slots should be nearly empty now which is exactly what you want before you tackle this newly revealed center section.
Step 5: Clean up the new green surrounding tiles
Now that the hidden area is fully exposed you need to clear the new green background tiles surrounding the pink animal. Your tray still holds several green blocks for you to use. Tap the remaining green blocks and send them up into your waiting slots. The green ants will rush into the newly opened middle area and quickly eat away the fresh green tiles. This step feels just like your very first move but it is concentrated entirely on the space where the door used to sit. Clearing this green space is absolutely mandatory because the pink animal is completely locked in by these green tiles. You must remove this green border so your later colors can actually reach the pink body and the black outlines.
Step 6: Erase all the scattered orange shapes
With all the green tiles finally out of the way your board is much cleaner and easier to read. You will notice several orange plus shapes scattered randomly around the open space. These shapes are blocking access to some of the finer details of the main picture. Locate the orange blocks in your lower tray. Tap them and let the orange ants scatter across the empty board to hunt down every single plus shape. The ants will travel to the top left corners and the bottom right edges to find their specific targets. Because the green background is completely gone the orange ants will move very quickly across the open space. Your waiting slots will process the orange blocks without any delay or risk of a dead end.
Step 7: Dismantle the large pink animal body
The main obstacle left on your board is the pink animal figure itself. The body is made of many pink tiles forming the head and the torso. Find the large pink blocks in your tray and tap them to move them into the waiting slots. The pink ants will march straight into the center space and start tearing down the animal figure. Watch as the pink blocks count down from the thirties and completely consume the pink body tiles. Make sure you only tap the pink blocks that you need right now so you do not accidentally fill your remaining slots with colors that cannot move yet. The pink animal will shrink down to just its basic dark outlines and a few white eye details.
Step 8: Clear the final black outlines and white details
You are now at the very end of the level and victory is close. The only tiles remaining on the screen are the black outlines of the animal and a few white tiles for the eyes and highlights. Your tray will have exactly what you need left over. Tap the black blocks to send ants to finish off the dark animal borders. Then tap the white block to grab the tiny eye details. The black and white ants will finish their paths at the same time. The last few tiles will pop and disappear from the board entirely. Your waiting slots will empty out completely and the screen will be totally clear. You have successfully conquered the board without ever causing a traffic jam.
Final Thought
Managing massive background areas and hidden objects makes this board a fun challenge. Taking down that giant locked door reveals a great surprise and completely changes your strategy halfway through the puzzle. Keep your large number blocks controlled so you never trap your ants.
