Welcome back to another puzzle guide. Colony Flow Level 457 offers a fun challenge featuring a very colorful pixel art dog portrait. You take on a gigantic chocolate obstacle sitting right in the middle of your main path. You need to manage your tray space perfectly because this board introduces connected boxes that take up extra room in your slots. I played this level repeatedly to map out the safest route for you. My strategy keeps your waiting slots completely open so you never encounter a dead end.
Colony Flow Level 457 Overview
What You Are Working With
The board displays a large pixel art picture of a dog face. The dog consists mostly of white and beige tiles with dark brown outlining for the eyes and the nose. The background layers include a thick red border and bright orange stripes on the left side. You will also see a large purple section filling the bottom right corner. A massive chocolate block dominates the lower center area. This chocolate covers essential tiles and completely blocks the ants from reaching the bottom of the snout. Your tray at the bottom of the screen supplies blocks in white, red, beige, purple, brown, and black colors. Some of these tray items are connected boxes. Connected boxes link two different colors together and pull to your slots as a single unit.
What It Takes to Clear Level 457 Board
Winning this level demands a split focus between breaking the chocolate and clearing the open background colors. The chocolate block requires hundreds of hits before it breaks completely. You cannot just blindly pull blocks or your five waiting slots will quickly fill up with colors that have nowhere to go. If those five slots jam completely, you lose the level instantly. You must constantly balance the long process of breaking the chocolate with the fast process of clearing the white neck and the purple background tiles. The trick is to keep feeding the ants the exact colors they can reach at the outer edges of the dog picture. Clearing the level means wearing down that chocolate block to zero and picking off every last tile of the dog face without jamming your board.
Colony Flow Level 457 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Open the white neck area and start breaking the massive chocolate block
The level begins with a huge chocolate block holding a massive six hundred points directly in your way. You cannot wait to address this massive obstacle. You must start wearing it down on your very first moves. Pull the white forty block from your tray to send white ants to the lower left side of the dog neck. This creates a giant open surface area for your ants to work and keeps your slots clear. While the white ants chew through the neck tiles, pull the dark brown and regular brown blocks. These ants march straight into the chocolate block. Every single ant that hits the chocolate reduces its number by one. You must maintain a steady stream of ants hitting that chocolate while continually using the white tiles to keep your waiting slots flowing freely.
Step 2: Deploy the connected boxes carefully and clear the purple background
Your tray will soon reveal connected boxes linking brown and black blocks together. Pulling these connected boxes takes up two of your five waiting slots instantly. You must verify that you have an active path for both colors before you touch this piece. The chocolate block is still absorbing hits so the brown ants naturally have a clear destination. To keep the rest of the board moving smoothly, pull the purple thirty block. This action sends a massive swarm of purple ants directly to the bottom right corner of the board. The purple background provides a giant open area for your purple blocks. Clearing this purple section opens up the right side of the dog face and gives you way more room to maneuver your future moves.
Step 3: Wear the chocolate block down to double digits and attack the red border
As the purple background fades away entirely, your chocolate block will finally drop below fifty points. You are making excellent progress but you must maintain your momentum. The board reveals a thick red border surrounding the top and left sides of the dog picture. Pull the red forty block and the smaller red blocks from your tray to send red ants crawling up the left side. The ants will quickly chew through the red background stripes. You will also notice orange blocks appearing in your tray. Pull these orange blocks to clear the orange stripes sitting directly inside the red border. Splitting your attention between the red border and the shrinking chocolate block prevents your waiting slots from ever filling up. Your white blocks remain a perfectly safe play whenever you need to clear a tray slot quickly.
Step 4: Destroy the chocolate block completely and clear the pink facial details
The moment you send the last few ants into the chocolate block, the brown obstacle vanishes from the board entirely. This is a massive victory for your progress on this level. With the chocolate gone, the hidden food tiles underneath finally become completely available. You now have full access to the bottom of the dog snout and the mouth. Pull the pink fifty block from your tray next. The pink ants will rush into the newly opened space to clear the tongue and inner ear details of the dog. You also need to pull the beige blocks to clear the shading around the snout. The board feels significantly more open now. You have multiple paths available so your risk of jamming the waiting slots stays very low. Keep pulling colors that perfectly match the newly exposed edges of the face.
Step 5: Clear the dark eye tiles and the scattered green side pieces
The dog face is shrinking very rapidly now. The main features left are the dark brown and black tiles forming the eyes and the nose. Pull the black thirty and black forty five blocks from your lower tray. The black ants will march straight up the middle of the board and consume the eye tiles. At the exact same time, look at the right edge of the board. You will spot several scattered green tiles waiting for you. Pull the green nineteen block to send green ants to clean up that right side. You must time this move correctly. Do not pull the green block until the purple background is completely gone and the green tiles are fully exposed. This guarantees the green ants have a direct path and do not get stuck waiting in your slots.
Step 6: Finish the top of the head and the final red border pieces
You are now looking at the very top section of the board. Only the upper skull of the dog and the very top strip of the red border remain. Pull your final white fifty block to send a massive wave of white ants to the top of the head. They will rapidly erase the remaining white pixels. Your tray will offer the last few red blocks you need. Pull them right into your waiting slots. The red ants will scurry to the top edge and finish off the red background tiles. Watch the numbers count down as the last few ants complete their tasks. Because you kept your board open the entire time, your slots remained clear and you secured the victory without any dangerous dead ends.
Final Thought
This level tests your ability to handle a massive obstacle while managing your tray space. Staying patient with the chocolate block while clearing the outer edges guarantees your success.
