What You Are Working With

The puzzle board features a bright yellow and orange lion face set against a solid dark blue background. You see a brown nose and a brown mouth right in the center of the face. Two bright white pixels serve as the eyes for the lion. At the very top edge of the board you will find a row of hidden food tiles marked with question marks. These hidden food tiles remain locked and disguise their true colors until your ants clear the regular food tiles right next to them. You cannot plan for their exact colors until you reach the very end of the puzzle. Below the board your tray provides a random assortment of colored blocks holding different numbers. You have yellow blocks, orange blocks, brown blocks, dark blue blocks, black blocks, and white blocks waiting for your command. A set of five waiting slots sits directly between the tray and the board. These slots act as the staging area for your ants to receive their food orders. If a block enters a slot the ants will try to find a path to the matching color on the board.

What It Takes to Clear Level 135 Board

You clear the level by removing every single colored tile from the lion picture including the hidden food at the very top. You accomplish this by matching tray block colors to the exposed food tiles on the board. You pull a numbered block into one of the five waiting slots and watch your ants stream out of the nest hole at the bottom. The ants march up to the picture and eat tiles that match the active blocks in your slots. Every single tile an ant eats reduces the block number by exactly one. The block vanishes from the slot when the number hits zero. You lose the game immediately if you fill all five waiting slots with colors that cannot reach their matching food tiles. You must plan your pulls carefully so at least one active block always has a direct open path to its matching color on the board. You achieve victory when the ants eat the last tile and leave the board completely empty.

Colony Flow Level 135 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Start by clearing the bottom blue background tiles

Look at the lowest section of the picture where a solid row of dark blue background tiles wraps under the lion chin. These dark blue tiles block all access to the orange mane and the yellow face. You need to open a path to the inner colors immediately to prevent a jam in your waiting slots. Tap the dark blue twenty five block from your tray to move it into your first active slot. Purple ants pour out of the central nest hole and rush toward the bottom edge of the board. They rapidly consume the bottom blue tiles and expose the lower edge of the orange mane. Your dark blue block counts down and eventually disappears from the slot as the ants finish their task. This single opening move creates a massive surface area for your next colors and ensures you have multiple paths available for your ants to travel. You want to clear these outer border tiles first so you never block your ants and dead end your board.

Step 2: Open the outer mane with orange and brown blocks

The purple ants have chewed away the bottom border and exposed the orange mane tiles on the left and right sides. You also have a clear path to the brown outline bordering the bottom of the mane. Tap the brown ten block to send brown ants up the middle. Watch them eat the brown outline tiles right below the chin. Once the brown outline disappears you can bring up the orange twenty seven block. Orange ants march out and attack the outer edges of the thick mane. The orange block drops its number down as the ants clear a huge portion of the lower sides. This deepens the cut into the picture and exposes the lighter yellow tiles forming the lower cheeks of the lion. Keep an eye on your waiting slots and only pull a new block when you see a wide open path to its matching color.

Step 3: Clear the white eyes and tackle the yellow face

The ants have now carved deep enough into the picture to reach the bright yellow face and the two white eye tiles. Tap the white two block from your tray to send out a pair of white ants. They instantly consume the white eye tiles and vanish from the board. Removing the eyes creates additional exposed edges for the inner yellow face tiles right in the middle of the lion head. Now you need to handle the massive amount of yellow food making up the forehead and cheeks. Tap the yellow three block first to clear a small patch and then pull the yellow forty block to handle the bulk of the face. Yellow ants swarm the center of the board and eat away the cheeks from the bottom up. Black blocks will also become necessary as you expose the dark borders around the eyes and the top of the head. Bring up the black four block to clear those specific border pieces. Your waiting slots remain perfectly safe because the yellow and black ants have wide open paths to their target tiles at all times.

Step 4: Remove the brown nose and mouth sections

Your yellow and orange ants have carved out the entire middle section of the face and exposed the central cluster of brown nose and mouth tiles. Locate the brown sixteen block in your tray and tap it to move it up. Brown ants march straight toward the center of the face and begin dismantling the intricate mouth pattern piece by piece. You will watch the brown block count down rapidly as the ants chew through the lower mouth area. The center of the face slowly vanishes and leaves open space behind. Tap the next brown six block from your tray to finish off the remaining brown tiles making up the nose. Clearing the dead center of the face actually splits the remaining upper board into a distinct left section and a distinct right section. This split works completely in your favor because it creates multiple new angles for your ants to reach the leftover tiles. You now have inner paths and outer paths to access the top of the head without any traffic jams.

Step 5: Tackle the upper blue background and remaining mane

The top half of the board still holds a large chunk of yellow forehead and orange mane surrounded by a thick layer of dark blue background tiles. Tap the dark blue forty block to send a massive wave of purple ants toward the top corners of the board. They march up the sides and eat away the blue background on both sides of the lion ears. At the same time tap your yellow twenty five block. Yellow ants swarm the remaining forehead pieces in the center. The top of the board gets thinner and thinner as the ants work their way up. Make sure you let the dark blue block count down a bit before you pull another color. You need to keep those waiting slots from filling up with blocks that have no clear path to the top. The purple ants eventually wrap around the top edges of the ears and open the final path to the very top row.

Step 6: Finish the hidden food tiles at the top edge

Only the very top edge of the board remains active. The ants finally clear the adjacent yellow and blue tiles touching the hidden food row at the top. This action reveals the true colors of those hidden food pieces and turns them into regular target tiles. You can now see exactly what you need to finish the puzzle. Tap your remaining black two block and the orange eleven block from your tray. The black and orange ants charge all the way up the screen to eat the final pieces of the ears and the newly revealed top edge. The last few stray dark blue tiles disappear as your final purple ants finish their meal. Your tray empties out completely and the board turns perfectly clean. The ants return to the nest and you secure the victory for this level.

Final Thought

Managing your waiting slots is the real secret to beating this puzzle. Always look for the outer colors first so your ants can carve a direct path into the center of the picture without getting stuck. Watch the video above this article if any step is hard to follow in text.
