Welcome to another puzzle breakdown. Colony Flow Level 380 throws a massive roadblock at you right out of the gate. I played through this one a few times to find the safest order to pull your tray blocks. Stick with my method and you will keep your waiting slots open all the way to the end.
Colony Flow Level 380 Overview
What You Are Working With
The picture for this level is a yellow cat wearing red boots and holding a star shape. The background features a large green circle layered over a blue square. The biggest feature on the board is a huge brown obstacle at the very bottom stamped with the number 500. This massive block sits right above the nest hole where your ants spawn. On the right side of the board sits another brown obstacle stamped with the number 50. In your tray you will find multiple solid color blocks and several connected blocks. Connected blocks link two colors together and pull into your waiting slots as a pair.
What It Takes to Clear Level 380 Board
To win this level you must completely clear the pixel art picture and the brown numbered obstacles. Your waiting area only has five slots for active blocks. The core rule of the game is that you lose if all five slots fill up with blocks that have no open paths to their matching colors. The 500 block at the bottom acts as a huge bottleneck. It forces your ants to take specific routes around the edges. If you pull blocks for colors buried in the middle of the picture before clearing the outer edges those blocks will sit in your slots and cause a jam. You clear the board by breaking down the 500 block first then opening the red boots and systematically eating the cat and the background from the outside in.
Colony Flow Level 380 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Break down the massive 500 brown barrier blocking the bottom area
Your first priority is to break down the massive 500 block blocking the center of the board. Begin by pulling the Black 40 block and the Yellow 35 block from the first column of your tray. Then pull the Blue 45 block and the Dark Green 35 block. You also want to pull the connected Light Green 40 and Dark Green 40 blocks. These two will link together in your waiting slots and slowly count down. The black ants will swarm out of the nest and immediately attack the 500 block while also climbing the left side to eat the black outline of the cat. The yellow and green ants will chew into the exposed edges of the cat body and the background. This massive wave of ants will chew the 500 block down to around 147 very quickly. You keep your slots from jamming because every color you just pulled has fully exposed tiles ready to be eaten.
Step 2: Expose the red boots and the lower cat body
With the giant obstacle crumbling you need to keep the pressure on the bottom area. Pull the Yellow 30 block and the Yellow 35 block from the right side of your tray. This releases a fresh wave of yellow ants that will swarm the lower half of the cat body and help the black ants finish off the rest of the bottom obstacle. Once the barrier completely vanishes the red boots become fully exposed. Pull the Red 44 block from the fifth column to send red ants straight into the boots. At the same time pull the Light Green 40 block from the middle column to keep your green ants working on the large circular background. Your waiting slots will stay clear because the red boots are completely open and the green background has plenty of exposed edges.
Step 3: Attack the right side obstacle and the star outline
Now that the bottom of the board is clear your ants have a straight shot up the right side. You will see the brown 50 obstacle near the star. Pull the Black 46 block from the tray. These black ants will rush up the right side to start breaking down the 50 block and chewing on the black outline around the star. While the black ants handle the right side you can focus on the left side of the background. Pull the Blue 35 block from the first column and the Yellow 31 block. The blue ants will tear into the top left corner of the blue square. The yellow ants will continue eating away at the head of the cat. The connected green blocks from the very first step will still be sitting in your slots counting down into the teens. Since they are still finding valid green tiles you do not have to worry about them jamming your tray.
Step 4: Deploy the second set of connected blocks safely
As you dig deeper into your tray you will uncover a set of connected Orange and Blue blocks. Pull these into your waiting slots. Connected blocks take up two of your five slots so you must be absolutely sure both colors have an open path. The orange ants will attack the shading on the cat body while the blue ants target the remaining blue background behind the star. You should also pull the Black 41 block to ensure you have enough black ants to completely finish the 50 obstacle on the right. The black ants will tear the obstacle down to zero and then finish the black outline of the star. Keep an eye on your slots. You will have two different connected pairs sitting there. By feeding them into wide open areas of the board you guarantee they will continuously count down and free up space.
Step 5: Erase the cat face and the inner star shapes
The board is now completely open and you can target the core of the picture. Pull the Red 45 block to finish off the remaining red pixels on the boots and the collar. Then pull the Orange 32 block and the Yellow 30 block. This combination will send a swarm of ants to devour the face and the center of the star. The yellow and orange pixels are completely exposed now so these blocks will drain from your waiting slots very fast. The connected Orange and Blue blocks will finally finish their countdown and vanish from your slots. This gives you plenty of breathing room to queue up the final colors.
Step 6: Sweep the remaining background colors on the board
Only scattered bits of the picture remain. You need to clear the last chunks of the green and blue background shapes. Pull the Light Green 40 block and the Blue 45 block. The green ants will sweep across the left side of the board and consume the last large arc of the light green circle. The blue ants will swarm the top section and clear out the blue square behind the ears. Because you waited until the body was mostly gone these background colors have massive surface areas exposed. The ants will eat them rapidly and clear the blocks out of your waiting slots in just a few seconds.
Step 7: Clean up the final pixels to finish the level
You are now at the very end of the puzzle. Pull the remaining Dark Green 10 block and the final Yellow 30 block. The black ants currently on the board will finish the last few black pixels on the star border. The green ants will clean up the final dark green background pieces on the left side. The yellow ants will eat the very last pixels of the head. Because you systematically broke down the large brown obstacles and always kept a path open to the background your waiting slots never jammed. The ants will eat the final tile and you will win the level.
Final Thought
This level is all about managing blockages and keeping a steady flow of ants moving across the board. If you focus on clearing the large numbered barriers first you will give your ants the room they need to clear the rest of the picture without jamming your tray.
