Welcome back to another puzzle guide on my channel. Colony Flow Level 5 ramps up the challenge with a massive concentric fruit slice design. You need to strip away multiple thick layers of colorful pixels to win this stage. I have played this game since it launched on the Apple App Store and I play every single level myself. I figure out the exact correct order to pull your blocks so you do not have to guess. This level requires careful planning because the picture is one giant solid object. You have to carve your way in slowly. If you follow my sequence you will keep your waiting slots open and feed your colony without failing.

Colony Flow Level 5 Overview

What You Are Working With

This board features a giant circular pattern that looks exactly like a large slice of citrus fruit. The picture sits near the top of the screen right above the dirt ant hole. The outermost ring consists of dark blue and black pixels. A thick band of light blue wraps just inside that outer boundary. Moving deeper into the fruit you find a bright orange rind and a light yellow inner circle. The very center holds a core made of magenta, pink, and light green tiles. There are no special hidden boxes or locks on this level. You only have to manage the standard colored food tiles and your limited waiting slot space. Your tray starts packed with high number blocks like a light blue block holding forty five units. You must manage these big numbers carefully so they do not sit in your five active slots blocking other moves.

Level 5 Objective

You win Level 5 when your colony completely eats the circular fruit pattern and clears the board. You must pull colored blocks from the tray to match the exposed food tiles. Every time an ant eats a matching tile the number on your active block counts down. You lose if you fill all five waiting slots with blocks that have no clear path to the matching food. Your goal is to strip away the fruit layers from the bottom to the top without ever causing a dead end jam in the tray.

Colony Flow Level 5 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Open the bottom edge of the outer rings to let the ants inside.

Your first move is to break through the protective bottom layer of the giant fruit slice. Look down at your lower tray and tap the dark blue block, the black block, and the light blue block. The bottom edge of the circle sits completely exposed directly above the main ant hole. Your ants will immediately rush upward in a huge swarm and start consuming the dark blue and black boundary pixels. Once they eat through that thin outer crust they will hit the thick light blue band. The first light blue block you pull holds a massive forty five units. It will sit in your active waiting slot for quite a long time as the little ants chew away the bottom arc pixel by pixel. Keep a close eye on the black block as its count drops toward zero. You want to make sure you do not overload your five slots right at the very start of the match. Wait for the ants to clear a decent chunk of the bottom arch before pulling anything else from your tray.

Step 2: Penetrate the thick orange rind and the yellow inner ring.

The ants now have a clear wide path broken directly into the middle sections of the circle. You need to pull the orange block and the light yellow block into your active waiting slots right now. The ants will stream past the broken edges of the light blue ring and start eating the thick orange fruit segments. You will notice the orange block starts with a count of thirty five units. The light yellow block starts with twenty five units. Since the entire bottom of the fruit is now wide open the ants have plenty of raw surface area to attack these new colors simultaneously. The massive light blue block is still actively counting down as ants eat the sides of the circle. By opening up the orange and yellow sections you give your colony multiple active targets to chase. This prevents any single color from stalling out and trapping a block permanently in your waiting slots.

Step 3: Access the fruit core and clear the center tiles entirely.

Your growing colony has now eaten a wide gap completely through the bottom half of the circle pattern. The very center of the fruit slice is totally exposed to the swarm. Pull the magenta block, the pink block, and the light green block up to the waiting slots at the bottom of the screen. The ants will flood into the middle area and eagerly devour the soft core. The magenta block starts with twenty units. The light green block starts with sixteen units. These core colors are bunched tightly together in a small geometric pattern. Your ants will clean them up extremely quickly because they sit perfectly centered directly above the entry hole. While the colony eats the central core they will also continue to gnaw on the remaining orange and light yellow tiles on the left and right sides. You now have a very busy and chaotic board with ants branching out in every possible direction.

Step 4: Continue working the swarm up the high outer sides.

The entire bottom half and the inner center of the picture are completely gone by this point in the match. The remaining tiles now form a large hollow arch hanging over the top of the board. You still have thick protective bands of light blue and black wrapping around the outer curved edges of this arch. Pull the next available black block and light blue block from your tray to keep the momentum going. The ants will march all the way up the sides of the board to reach these high outer layers. The light blue blocks take a very long time to clear because the band is incredibly thick and wraps all the way around the top edge. You must let the ants steadily work their way up the left and right flanks at their own pace. Do not pull any unnecessary blocks during this slow phase. You only have five active waiting slots available. If you pull a color that remains buried near the top center you will trap it in a slot and ruin your game. Wait patiently for the colony to erode the tough sides.

Step 5: Finish the remaining top segments to beat the level.

Only a small scattered cluster of orange and light yellow segments remain near the very top right of the board. The thick outer blue rings are almost completely consumed by the swarm. Pull your final orange blocks and light yellow blocks from the tray to finish the job. The last remaining ants will climb all the way to the very peak of the arch and eat the remaining fruit segments. You might see a tiny piece of black or dark blue hiding in the upper right corner just out of reach. Make sure you keep at least one active slot open just in case you need to pull a final block to catch that stubborn straggler. Once the last orange tile vanishes from the screen the board is completely clear. The final ants will return to the dirt hole and you will easily beat the level.

Overall Strategy to Clear Level 5 Board

  1. Work entirely from the bottom up to maintain open paths. The whole fruit design is a solid mass of pixels with absolutely no gaps or holes initially. You have to break the bottom crust of dark blue and black just to let the ants inside the shape. If you pull inner colors like pink or green too early they will sit dead in your active slots and cause you to lose the match.

  2. Manage the high count light blue blocks very carefully. The thick light blue ring requires massive blocks holding forty five units each. These blocks will occupy your active slots for a very long time while the ants work. You must balance them with smaller blocks like the green sixteen or the purple five so you can consistently cycle fresh blocks into the tray.

  3. Clear the central core quickly to open more surface area. Once the orange and yellow rings are breached you must immediately pull the magenta and green blocks. Eating the center right out of the fruit gives your ants far more angles to attack the upper orange segments. A hollow center means your colony can reach the top of the board much faster.

  4. Watch the upper corners for leftover boundary pixels. As the ants eat the large orange segments they often leave a few dark blue or black pixels stranded at the very top edges. Save a low count black block in your tray for the very end of the level. You absolutely do not want to fail right at the finish line because you filled your active slots and cannot pull that one final black block.

  5. Always keep one waiting slot empty in case of emergencies. When you get down to the final top arch the ants take longer paths to reach their food. A long path means blocks sit in your slots longer before finishing. Keeping one slot open guarantees you always have room to pull a color if a new tile suddenly becomes exposed.

Final Thought

Level 5 tests your patience and your ability to manage massive block numbers. The giant fruit slice takes a long time to carve hollow but you will succeed if you strictly follow the bottom up method. Keep those high number light blue blocks in check and never crowd your five waiting slots. If any of these steps are hard to picture in text form I highly encourage you to watch the video above this article. Seeing the ants move in real time makes the whole process much easier to understand.
