Welcome to my walkthrough for Colony Flow Level 516. This board gives you a massive pixel art picture with tricky block types hiding in the tray. I played through this exact level to map out the right moves you need to keep your slots open and your ants moving smoothly. The sheer amount of light blue here can easily trap you if you pull the wrong blocks too early.
Colony Flow Level 516 Overview
What You Are Working With
The pixel art on this board shapes up to be a large beautiful dolphin. The entire background consists of light blue tiles representing the ocean water. The main dolphin body uses the exact same light blue color. A dark black outline wraps around the entire dolphin shape to separate it from the water. The belly features a large section of white tiles. You will see a few special elements in your tray at the bottom of the screen. A hidden box sits in the second row waiting for you to uncover it. You will also spot a pair of connected boxes linking a light blue block and a white block together. The heavy reliance on light blue on the board means you will handle a ton of high numbered light blue blocks throughout the entire run.
What It Takes to Clear Level 516 Board
You clear this board by breaking through the bottom layer of water to reach the dolphin. The outer edge of the background totally blocks your ants from reaching the black outline or the white belly. You must chew through these bottom background tiles first. Once the ants carve a path to the bottom of the dolphin you can start feeding them the black outline and the white underbelly tiles. You win when the ants eat every single pixel and return to the nest hole. The main danger here is filling all five waiting slots. You have to balance the massive light blue blocks with the smaller black and white blocks so your ants always have an active path. If you pull too many big blocks at once the board will dead end and you will lose.
Colony Flow Level 516 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: clear the bottom background edge first
You start by pulling the first three light blue blocks from the top row of your tray. These blocks hold thirty five and thirty counts. Your ants immediately pour out of the nest and spread across the entire bottom edge of the board. They start eating the light blue water tiles framing the dolphin. This massive wave of ants clears away the lower corners and works its way up the sides of the picture. Letting these large blocks run opens up the actual bottom of the dolphin shape. You want to make sure these first blocks drop their numbers down significantly before you pull anything else into the waiting slots. Leaving two slots totally empty guarantees you have room to pivot if the ants get stuck.
Step 2: pull the connected blocks to open the belly
With the bottom water gone you can clearly see the black tail and the white belly tiles. Pull the connected pair of blocks from the tray. This action pulls a light blue thirty block and a white eighteen block into your waiting slots at the exact same time. The ants using the white block will rush straight into the dolphin belly. The ants using the light blue block will continue eating the water on the left and right sides. This move clears out the center of the picture and creates a deep empty pocket for your ants to travel up into the main dolphin body. Keep an eye on your remaining empty slots and let the white block finish completely.
Step 3: bring out the first black block for the outline
You need to start breaking the thick black line wrapping the lower half of the dolphin. Pull the black fifteen block into a waiting slot. The ants will swarm the dark tiles making up the tail and the lower border. You must break this outline to reach the upper light blue tiles inside the dolphin body. The black blocks always have smaller numbers than the blue blocks. They finish fast and free up your waiting slot again. Let the black fifteen block run to zero before you tap any more blocks from the tray. This prevents your slots from jamming and keeps the ants flowing upward.
Step 4: manage the large light blue blocks
Your tray now shows several massive light blue blocks carrying numbers over thirty. You must pull one of these into the waiting slots to keep the ants eating the upper background water. Tap the light blue thirty five block. The ants will split off and attack the top left corner of the water. Do not pull a second large blue block yet. Pulling too many big blocks at once will jam your board because the ants will run out of exposed water tiles to eat. You need to wait until the ants eat enough background to reach the upper sections. Leave at least two empty slots in your waiting area at all times during this phase to keep the board safe.
Step 5: feed the white blocks to clear the remaining belly
The ants have eaten through the first white block and exposed the upper part of the white belly. Tap the white twenty block from your tray. A fresh stream of ants will march right up the middle of the board and consume the rest of the white tiles. This action completely hollows out the bottom half of the dolphin. The empty space lets your ants travel much faster to the top half of the board. Letting the white block finish completely ensures you do not trap any uncompleted white tiles behind the remaining black outline. Your slots remain clear and open for the next big move.
Step 6: deploy the black twenty two block
Now that the belly is gone your ants have a clear run at the black outline near the head and upper back. Pull the black twenty two block into your active slots. The ants will quickly dismantle the thick dark line cutting across the middle of the picture. This clears the final barrier protecting the main block of light blue tiles that make up the actual dolphin body. Watch the number count down rapidly. The black blocks finish quickly when the ants have a wide open path. Waiting for this block to clear frees up your slots for the final massive light blue push.
Step 7: open the hidden box
The tray now gives you access to the hidden box you saw at the beginning. Tap the hidden box to bring it up. It reveals itself as another light blue block. Pulling this block sends ants straight into the center of the dolphin body. They will eat away the light blue tiles shaping the head and back. Because you saved this block until the outline was gone the ants can swarm the body from all directions. This speeds up the ants and clears out the center of the picture in a matter of seconds. You keep your slots from jamming because the ants have dozens of open tiles to chew on at once.
Step 8: pull the black twenty five block
A few black outline tiles still sit near the top right corner around the dolphin nose. Pull the black twenty five block to finish off this dark line. Your ants will crawl up the right side of the board and eat the remaining black pixels. Getting rid of the very last outline tiles means nothing stands between your ants and the final pieces of background water. Let this block disappear completely so you regain that valuable waiting slot. You always want maximum tray space open when you reach the end of a level.
Step 9: unleash the remaining light blue blocks
You only have large light blue blocks left in your tray and only a strip of water left across the top of the board. Pull the light blue thirty and the light blue thirty five blocks. You can pull them both now because there are no other colors left on the board to block them. The ants will flood the top edge and eat away the final pieces of the sky and the dolphin head. The numbers on your blocks will drop to zero as the last pixel vanishes from the screen. You maintained an open path the entire time and the board is fully clean.
Final Thought
This board really tests your patience with those massive blocks. Letting the big numbers drop before pulling new colors keeps your slots completely safe from a dead end. If you get stuck on any specific tray pull you can always scroll up and watch the video above this article. Seeing the ants clear the water in real time makes the whole strategy much easier to copy and win.
