Welcome to Colony Flow Level 16. This specific stage features a highly detailed pixel art picture of a white cat wearing vibrant red bows. I play every single level to figure out the safest routes and this one definitely requires careful slot management. You will face a massive amount of white fur and some tricky connected blocks that can easily ruin your run. Follow my moves closely to keep your colony moving and avoid filling up your slots with unplayable colors.

Colony Flow Level 16 Overview

What You Are Working With

The board presents a large cat figure built from hundreds of tiny colored food tiles. The entire shape is wrapped in a thick black outline that defines the ears the paws and the long tail. Inside that outline you have huge sections of white tiles making up the body and the face. The cat wears two large red bows. One red bow sits on the tail and the other rests on the head. Two tiny cyan spots represent the eyes. Down in your tray you have multiple stacks of numbered blocks painted to match these exact four colors. This level also introduces Connected Boxes into the mix. You will notice certain blocks in the tray have a dark visual link joining them together. When you tap one of these linked blocks both blocks pull into your waiting area simultaneously. You only have five slots at the bottom of your screen to hold these blocks while the ants work.

Level 16 Objective

Your main objective is to clear every single colored tile from the board and return the ants to their nest. You achieve this by pulling the correct colored blocks from the tray to match the exposed tiles on the board. However you must always watch your five waiting slots. If you pull blocks that the ants cannot reach those blocks will sit in the slots and block new moves. If all five slots fill up and no ants can move you will dead end the board and lose the level instantly. You must clear the picture while always keeping at least one active path open.

Colony Flow Level 16 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Strip away the outer black outline

You start the level by focusing entirely on the black tiles that form the outer edge of the cat. Look at your tray and pull the top Black blocks into your waiting slots. Because the black outline touches the open empty space of the board the ants can reach it right away. Pulling these Black blocks is incredibly safe and keeps your slots flowing smoothly. As the ants swarm out of the nest and bite into the black food tiles the numbers on your blocks will count down. Letting the ants chew through this protective black shell is the only way to expose the inner white and red sections. Never pull the inner colors until you create a large enough opening in this black perimeter.

Step 2: Feed the exposed white paws and the red tail bow

Once the colony breaks through the bottom layer of the black outline you will see open paths leading to the white fur on the paws and the red bow on the tail. Now is the perfect time to pull one White block and one Red block from the tray. Do not pull too many blocks at the same time. You want to preserve your empty slots for emergencies. The ants will automatically divide into two massive streams. One group of ants will march toward the white paws while the second group tackles the red tail bow. Watch the numbers on these blocks drop steadily. Keeping the board active with two different colors ensures the ants are always working and your slots never back up.

Step 3: Handle the Connected Boxes with patience

As you dig deeper into the tray you will uncover the Connected Boxes. These are blocks joined by a visible link that forces them to move as a pair. Tapping a connected pair instantly fills two of your five waiting slots. You must be absolutely sure that both colors in the pair have open paths on the board before you tap them. If you pull a linked Black and Red pair but the black tiles are completely blocked by white fur the Black block will get stuck in your slot. This mistake permanently reduces your playable slots and pushes you one step closer to a loss. When a block sits dead in a slot it wastes valuable space that you need for other colors. Always scan the board to guarantee open access for both colors before pulling any Connected Boxes into your waiting area.

Step 4: Clear out the massive white fur sections

The white body and face make up the vast majority of the tiles on this board. Because there is so much white fur the White blocks in your tray carry very large numbers like thirty and forty. You need to aggressively feed these heavy White blocks to the colony so they can carve a path up into the chest and head. Whenever a White block empties out and disappears from your slots pull the next White block immediately. This constant pressure keeps the ants chewing through the thickest part of the picture. Watch the swarm spread out across the board as they find new paths. If you neglect the white tiles the ants will have absolutely no way to reach the cyan eyes or the upper red bow later in the stage. Keeping the white blocks cycling is the key to maintaining a healthy board state.

Step 5: Uncover and clear the tiny cyan eyes

Deep inside the face of the cat you will find the small cyan tiles that make up the eyes. These tiles remain completely trapped until the very end of the white fur cleanup. You will see a Cyan block sitting in your tray with a very low number on it. You must exercise extreme patience and leave this Cyan block alone until the ants expose the eyes. Pulling it too early will permanently clog one of your slots for a huge portion of the level. Once the white fur falls away and the cyan tiles finally touch the open board space pull the Cyan block. The ants will rush in and devour the tiny eyes in a matter of seconds.

Step 6: Demolish the top red bow and the remaining head tiles

screenshot

With the body and the face completely gone you only have to deal with the top portion of the picture. This area includes the large red bow on the head and a few lingering black outline tiles around the ears. Your tray will be quite small at this point. Pull a Red block to send the ants up to the top bow. The path is completely clear so the swarm will march straight up the board without any issues. Pull the remaining Black blocks alongside the Red block to speed up the process. The ants will effortlessly drain these blocks down to zero because they have unrestricted access to every single remaining tile.

Step 7: Finish the final scattered pieces to clear the board

screenshot

You are now at the very end of the stage. You might have just one or two blocks left in your tray usually with tiny numbers attached to them. These blocks correspond to the very last isolated tiles at the tips of the ears and the top of the red head bow. Tap everything remaining in your tray to pull them into your waiting slots. Since the entire center of the board is completely empty the ants will take a fast direct route from the nest hole to the top corners. They will grab the final food pieces and vanish back underground. Your waiting slots will empty out entirely and the picture will disappear. You have successfully navigated the block combinations and cleared the level.

Overall Strategy to Clear Level 16 Board

  1. Prioritize the black perimeter blocks early in the game. The black outline acts as a massive wall that protects the inner colors. You must dedicate your first few moves to breaking down this black shell so the ants can reach the white and red tiles underneath.
  2. Treat the Connected Boxes with extreme caution. Because they pull two blocks at once they can quickly overwhelm your five slots. Always visually confirm that both colors have a clear open path on the picture before you bring a connected pair into your waiting area.
  3. Keep a steady flow of White blocks moving. The cat has a massive amount of white fur. You must continuously cycle the high numbered White blocks through your slots to prevent the ants from stalling out in the middle of the body.
  4. Save the Cyan block for the absolute perfect moment. The cyan eyes are tiny and heavily guarded by the white face tiles. Leaving the Cyan block in the tray until the eyes are completely exposed is the only way to avoid a devastating traffic jam in your slots.

Final Thought

This level demands strict color management and a solid understanding of how the linked blocks function. If you take your time and follow the exact order of the colors you will keep your slots perfectly clean. Be sure to watch the video above this article if you struggle to visualize how the ants path through the connected pairs.
