Colony Flow Level 614 Overview

What You Are Working With

The board displays a dragon character made of dark purple tiles for the main body and head. Black tiles form the thick outline around the entire character. The wings feature bright cyan tiles on both sides. Two large eyes consist of light green tiles with tiny white tiles for the inner glints. A massive background of light blue tiles surrounds the top and sides of the dragon. Your tray provides numbered colored blocks matching these exact colors. You also face the Connected Boxes mechanic in this level. Connected Boxes link two or more blocks together in a rigid chain. You must pull them into the waiting slots as a single large group. They take up multiple slots at the exact same time. This creates a massive risk of filling your five waiting slots and losing the level instantly.

What It Takes to Clear Level 614 Board

Clearing this board requires you to open paths from the bottom up. The ants start at the nest hole at the bottom center of the screen. They need a completely open line of empty space to reach any color tile you place in the waiting slots. You must expose the inner colors like cyan and white before you pull their matching blocks. If you pull a white block before the ants can actually reach the dragon eyes, that block will just sit in a waiting slot and waste precious space. You win by methodically stripping away the bottom light blue tiles, chewing through the black outline, and slowly working your way up the dark purple body until the entire board is empty. Every single move you make must keep at least one active path open for the ants so the waiting slots never jam.

Colony Flow Level 614 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Clear the bottom light blue background and the initial black outline tiles

You begin the level with a fresh board and a full tray of blocks at the bottom. Look at the very bottom edge of the dragon picture. The ants have immediate access to the bottom rows of light blue background tiles and the black outline tiles near the feet. Tap the light blue block from your tray to send it up into the first waiting slot. The ants will immediately stream out of the nest hole and begin eating the light blue tiles at the bottom corners. Next tap the black block to send it into the second slot. The ants will split their attention and start chewing away the black tiles that form the bottom edge of the dragon feet. The numbers on your blocks will count down rapidly as the ants consume the matching tiles. You must wait for these initial blocks to clear out some space before you pull anything else. Keep your remaining three slots completely empty for now to guarantee you do not dead end the board early.

Step 2: Open the path to the cyan wings and manage the waiting slots

As the ants remove the bottom black outline tiles, they expose the dark purple feet and the bottom edges of the cyan wings. Tap a dark purple block and a cyan block from your tray to bring them up to the waiting slots. The ants will rush to the newly exposed dark purple and cyan tiles. You might feel very tempted to pull the white block from the tray right now because it looks small. Do not do it under any circumstances. The white tiles are trapped deep inside the light green eyes near the top of the head. The ants cannot reach them yet. If you pull the white block now it will lock up one of your five slots for a very long time and put you in serious danger of losing. Keep focusing heavily on the dark purple and cyan blocks. Watch the numbers on the cyan block drop to zero as the ants devour the bright wings on both sides of the dragon.

Step 3: Strip away the sides of the black outline and push into the main body

The wings will disappear entirely as your cyan block reaches zero and leaves the waiting slot. This action clears a massive path up the left and right sides of the board. You now have direct access to the long vertical black outline tiles and the light blue background tiles along the outer edges. Tap another black block and another light blue block to send them into your open slots. The ants will march up the sides of the screen and eat their way upward in a steady stream. You should also tap another dark purple block to keep the ants working on the main body in the center. The bottom half of the dragon will start to vanish completely. You are successfully keeping a steady flow of ants moving without ever filling all five slots at the exact same time. This is how you control the flow and win.

Step 4: Breach the head area and pull the light green blocks for the eyes

Your ants will finish eating the lower body and the neck of the dragon. This movement exposes the bottom of the large head and the light green tiles that make up the huge eyes. Now is the perfect time to finally pull the light green block from your tray into a waiting slot. The ants will surge upward and begin clearing out the large eye sections on the face. You will see the light green tiles disappear quickly as the numbers drop. This finally exposes the tiny white tiles in the center of each eye. You can safely tap the white block from your tray now. It will enter an open slot and the ants will immediately clean up the white tiles. The white block will disappear from your slots almost instantly because there are very few white tiles on the board. You have safely cleared the most dangerous trap in the level.

Step 5: Deploy the first set of Connected Boxes to clear the upper body

screenshot

You will notice a large set of Connected Boxes waiting in your tray. This specific set links a dark purple block directly to another dark purple block. You must have two completely empty waiting slots to pull this connected pair. Wait patiently until your ants finish the light green eyes and the white tiles so those blocks clear out of the slots entirely. Once you have two open spaces, tap the connected dark purple blocks. They will snap into the waiting slots together as a single unit. The ants will swarm the remaining dark purple tiles that make up the top of the head and the ears. Because you waited for open slots, you easily avoid the core lose condition. The ants will steadily eat away the dark purple tiles until both connected blocks hit zero and vanish from the slots simultaneously.

Step 6: Clear the remaining black outline tiles around the ears

screenshot

Only the very top section of the dragon head remains at this late stage of the game. The ears still have a thin black outline trapping some final dark purple tiles inside. You also have a large chunk of light blue background tiles stretching across the entire top of the board. Pull your final black block into an open waiting slot. The ants will travel all the way to the top of the screen to eat the last black tiles. This breaks the final physical barrier around the top of the picture. You must ensure the black block finishes its countdown before you pull too many background blocks. Keep your focus entirely on finishing the dragon character itself before you completely switch your attention to the background colors.

Step 7: Use the final Connected Boxes to finish the light blue background

The dragon character is completely gone from the screen. Only the top canopy of light blue background tiles remains to be cleared. Your tray holds another massive set of Connected Boxes. This set links a dark purple block to two separate light blue blocks. Wait until you have three empty waiting slots available. Tap this large connected group to send it up to the tray. The dark purple block might only need a few ants to clear a hidden leftover tile while the two light blue blocks will handle the entire top section of the background. The ants will flood the top of the board and consume the remaining light blue tiles in one massive wave. The blocks in your slots will count down to zero. The board will be totally clean and you will win the level.

Final Thought

You need real patience to beat this stage without jamming your tray. Planning your moves around the large sets of Connected Boxes makes all the difference between winning and losing. Be sure to watch the video above this article if any step is hard to follow in text. Seeing the ants move will help you master the timing.
