Colony Flow Level 164 Overview

What You Are Working With

The board displays a colorful goldfish swimming in a large glass bowl. The very bottom edge has a thick purple rim. Inside the bowl you see green and yellow tiles that make up the decorative gravel. The water forms a thick light blue outline curving over the top of the fish. The goldfish itself features bright orange yellow and dark brown tiles. Down in your tray you have large number blocks waiting to be used. You will pull orange yellow pink light blue and teal blocks. A special lock and key mechanic is also active on this level. One of the yellow blocks in the bottom tray has a lock symbol covering the number. You must find the key hidden in the picture to open that block before you can use it.

What It Takes to Clear Level 164 Board

Winning requires careful management of your limited space. You have five empty waiting slots at the bottom of the screen. Every block you pull up sits in a slot while the ants carry its numbers to the matching colors on the picture. If you fill all five slots with colors that have no open path you lose the level immediately. You clear the board by chipping away at the outer bowl first. You peel off the purple rim and the blue water to create pathways. Then you dig into the gravel and the fish tail to open up the center. Once you uncover and collect the key your tray unlocks. You finish the level by eating the rest of the fish body and the top water arch. Always look at what colors touch the open background before you pull a new block.

Colony Flow Level 164 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Start at the bottom purple rim to open the board.

The very bottom of the fishbowl rests on a single strip of purple tiles. This outer shell is your required starting point. You need to pull the purple block from your tray into an empty slot. Watch the colony run up from the nest hole and eat the bottom edge of the picture. As they clear those purple tiles they expose the light blue water and the green gravel tiles right above them. You want to keep the momentum going without clogging your board. Wait for the purple block to empty out entirely. Let the ants carve out a solid entry point before you pull anything else. Your slots remain safe because the purple path was completely exposed from the very beginning.

Step 2: Clear the green gravel and the lower blue water.

Now you have a wide opening on the bottom left and the bottom right. The bowl consists of a large light blue dome and a bed of green gravel. Start feeding your colony the green blocks and the light blue blocks. Pull a green block first so the ants can chew away the decorative gravel under the fish. Then pull a large light blue block to let the ants travel up the outer edges of the glass bowl. The numbers in your slots will slowly drop as the ants find valid paths to the blue water and the green ground. Do not pull the orange blocks yet. The main fish is still blocked by the outer layers of the picture. Pulling orange now will trap a block in your waiting slots and threaten a loss.

Step 3: Remove the pink details surrounding the lower bowl.

You will notice some pink tiles scattered near the gravel and the bottom curves of the glass. You must clear these out to widen the paths to the center of the screen. Pull a pink block up into your slots. The ants will swarm the lower areas and remove the pink details. This process takes a little time because the ants have to travel to opposite sides of the board. Watch your five slots closely to ensure they process smoothly. You should have at least two empty slots ready at all times. By clearing the pink and green sections you completely expose the underside of the goldfish. The bottom fins are now touching the open background.

Step 4: Eat into the orange and yellow fish tail.

Your ants are currently chewing through the right side of the blue water and the gravel. This opens up the back half of the fish. The tail features large chunks of orange and yellow tiles. Now is the perfect time to pull an orange block. You have a massive orange block waiting in your tray. Pulling it into a slot will send a huge wave of ants straight to the tail. They will also start eating the orange fins on the bottom. Pull a yellow block to accompany the orange one. The ants will mix and match eating the remaining yellow gravel and the yellow stripes on the fish tail. Your slots stay safe because both orange and yellow tiles are completely exposed on the right side.

Step 5: Collect the hidden key to unlock the tray.

You still have a locked yellow block stuck down in your tray. You absolutely need to free it to finish the level. The key is buried inside the lower section of the goldfish and the last few pieces of the gravel. Keep letting your ants process the current orange and yellow blocks. When the ants eat the specific tile holding the hidden key you will unlock the next phase. The lock symbol on the yellow block down in your tray vanishes immediately. This is a huge relief. You now have access to the exact yellow block you need for the main body of the fish. Wait until your current slots empty out before you bring that newly unlocked yellow block up to the active area.

Step 6: Focus on the main fish body and the brown details.

The glass bowl is mostly gone except for the top arch. The bottom gravel is completely clear. The board is now dominated by the main orange body of the goldfish. You will see dark brown tiles forming the eye and the shadow lines on the scales. Pull a brown block into a slot so the ants can clear those fine details. Pull the newly unlocked yellow block to clear the belly and the facial highlights. Then pull another orange block to wipe out the thick middle section. Since the fish is completely open from all sides your ants will drain these large number blocks very fast. Your slots will empty out rapidly leaving you plenty of room for the final push.

Step 7: Clear the top water arch and finish the goldfish.

screenshot

Only a handful of tiles remain on the screen at this point. The top curve of the light blue water is still hanging there. The very top fin of the fish and a few facial tiles are left untouched. Look at your remaining tray options. You have a stack of light blue blocks and a few yellow and orange blocks. Pull one of each into your active slots to cover all the remaining colors. The ants will split up into specialized groups. One group will climb to the top and eat the remaining light blue water dome. Another group will finish the orange fin. The last few ants will clear the yellow mouth. Watch the numbers drop to zero and vanish from your slots. The screen will clear completely to give you the victory.

Final Thought

Level 164 tests your patience and your ability to manage big numbers in a confined space. You have to respect the outer layers and dig slowly to find that hidden key.
