Welcome to Colony Flow Level 224. This puzzle presents a large green couch surrounded by a massive bright orange background. You need to dismantle the room piece by piece without crowding your waiting slots. I will show you exactly how to feed your colony and clear the board.
Colony Flow Level 224 Overview
What You Are Working With
The picture at the top of your screen shows a bright green couch. A dark purple outline forms the shape of the furniture and creates a hard border at the very bottom. Behind the couch sits a large orange wall that takes up almost the entire background. Some yellow and light pink window details appear near the top of the room. The couch holds a few loose items including white and red pillows and a small blue object resting on the right armrest. Your tray at the bottom holds the numbered colored blocks you need to feed your colony. You also have a locked slot in your tray. A yellow padlock blocks one of the columns completely. You must find and play the block carrying the key to open that space.
What It Takes to Clear Level 224 Board
You win the level by clearing every single pixel art tile from the screen. Your ants stream out of the nest hole at the bottom center and march toward open matching tiles. The biggest threat to your success is the waiting area. You have exactly five slots for your drawn blocks. If you fill all five slots with blocks that have no open path to their matching color, the ants stop moving and you lose the game. You clear this board by breaking the bottom outline first. Once you breach the bottom wall you can send ants up the sides and into the middle of the couch. You must balance the fast couch moves with the slow wall moves to keep your waiting slots flowing freely.
Colony Flow Level 224 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Open the bottom edge with black and orange blocks.
You must create entry points for your ants before you do anything else. The very bottom of the picture consists of a dark outline and the edges of the orange floor. Pull the Black 25 block into your waiting slots first. The black ants will stream out of the nest and eat away the dark border right under the couch. Next pull an Orange 35 block from your tray. The orange ants will head to the bottom left and bottom right corners of the floor. As these two colors clear the bottom edge they expose the light green base of the couch. The numbers on your blocks will count down to zero and vanish to free up your slots for the next move.
Step 2: Send the first wave of light green ants into the couch.
With the dark outline broken at the bottom you now have a direct path into the main furniture. Pull the Light Green 35 block from your tray. The green ants will march straight up through the gap you just created. They will spread out across the bottom cushions of the couch. This is a very fast move because the tiles sit right above the nest hole. The quick travel time means this block will clear out of your waiting slots rapidly. Eating away this wide path opens up the dark green armrests and exposes more of the dark outline hiding underneath.
Step 3: Grab the key to unlock the hidden tray column.
Look at your tray and find the Light Green 32 block holding a small key icon. You need to play this block to unlock the yellow padlock blocking your second column. Pull the Light Green 32 block into your slots now. The ants will run up and clear more of the couch structure. As soon as this specific block finishes its countdown the key flies over to the lock. The yellow padlock breaks and grants you access to the Yellow 44 block trapped underneath. Opening this column early gives you more block options and prevents you from getting stuck later in the game.
Step 4: Start chewing through the massive orange background.
The orange wall takes up more tiles than any other color on this board. You have multiple large orange blocks waiting in your tray including an Orange 50 and another Orange 35. Pull one Orange 50 block into your slots to begin the long process. The orange ants have a very long walk ahead of them. They must travel from the nest hole at the bottom all the way up the left and right sides of the screen to reach the wall tiles. Because the walk takes so much time this block will sit in your waiting area for a long duration. Do not pull multiple orange blocks at once or you will jam your tray. Let one orange block run while you use your other available slots for faster colors closer to the nest hole. Managing this travel time is the real secret to beating the level.
Step 5: Clear the dark green armrests and light pink details.
As the outer walls and the bottom of the couch disappear you expose new sections of the room. The couch features dark green armrests on both sides. The wall behind the couch has some light pink window panes. Pull the Dark Green 25 block to send ants into the armrests. Pull the Light Pink 5 block to clear the window details. These smaller blocks process quickly and keep your waiting slots empty. Clearing these details separates the main green couch from the upper orange wall. This separation gives your ants clearer walking paths and speeds up the rest of the level.
Step 6: Eliminate the remaining main green couch body.
You still have a large chunk of the bright green backrest sitting in the middle of the board. You also have the Yellow 44 block that you unlocked earlier in the game. Pull your remaining Light Green blocks to finish the main furniture shape. The ants will swarm the center of the screen and eat the rest of the green backrest tiles. While the green ants work you can pull the Yellow 44 block to clear the window panels shining through the background. The entire body of the couch and the bright window will disappear at the same time. You will now see the white and red pillows and the remaining pieces of the dark outline floating in completely empty space. Always wait for these large numbers to reach zero before you pull the blocks for the final floating details.
Step 7: Clean up the floating pillows and the final outline.
You are now in the final phase of the level. Pull the White 19 block and the Red 7 block to target the pillows that used to sit on the couch. The ants will quickly run up the middle and clear these small decorations. Next pull the remaining Black blocks from your tray. The black ants will target the broken pieces of the dark outline that are still floating around the edges of the room. Finally pull your last Orange blocks to mop up the very top corners of the ceiling. The last block hits zero and you win the level.
Final Thought
Level 224 requires careful management of your waiting area because the background takes so long to clear. You succeed by mixing fast moves in the center with slow moves along the outer edges. Take your time and never fill your slots with blocks that have nowhere to go. Please watch the video above this article if you want to see exactly how these moves look in action.
