Welcome to Colony Flow Level 984. This board presents a massive pixel art creature taking up almost the entire screen space and leaving very few open paths for your ants to travel at the beginning. You face a very tight opening with a large blocked area in the corner that demands your immediate attention. You must manage your tray space perfectly to peel away the large background before you can safely crack into the main figure. I played this level multiple times to find the exact sequence that keeps the board flowing smoothly.

Colony Flow Level 984 Overview

What You Are Working With

The picture on this board is a large yellow creature with a thick dark purple outline. The character has round orange cheeks, a jagged brown tail at the bottom right, and some pink hearts floating near the top right corner. The entire background behind the creature is filled with light blue tiles. A Hungry Door sits at the top left corner requiring a massive number of tiles to clear before it opens.

Down at the bottom of the screen you have a deep tray filled with colored numbered blocks. You will see light blue, light green, white, yellow, orange, beige, brown, and dark purple blocks stacked in several layers. Above the tray are five waiting slots. These slots are empty at the start of the level but they are the most dangerous part of the board. The numbers on the blocks are quite high with some reaching up to 54. This means your ants will take a long time to clear single blocks.

What It Takes to Clear Level 984 Board

You have to clear out the huge light blue background first to open access to the main character. You cannot reach the inner colors until the background is completely gone. As the light blue tiles vanish you will see the Hungry Door counter drop drastically. Then you systematically dismantle the yellow body and the brown tail piece by piece.

You win when every single colored pixel vanishes and the ants return to their hole. You lose if you fill all five waiting slots with blocks that have no open paths to their matching colors. If the slots jam and the ants stop moving the level ends in defeat. You must always keep at least one active path open for the ants to travel.

Colony Flow Level 984 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Clear the light blue background to create walking room for your ants.

Start the level by pulling the light blue blocks from the tray into your waiting slots. You will see a light blue 27 block and a light blue 46 block available early on. Move them up immediately. The ants will stream out of the nest hole and flood the outer edges of the picture to eat the light blue background. This background is massive and takes a lot of time to clear. As the ants eat the blue tiles the counter on the Hungry Door at the top left drops from 135 down to 33. This clears a huge amount of space on the board and opens up paths to the actual character. Keep an eye on your waiting slots and do not pull any inner colors yet.

Step 2: Send the white and light green blocks to clear the outer edge highlights.

With the background mostly gone you now have access to the white and light green tiles scattered around the edges of the character. Pull the white 29 block and the two light green 10 blocks into your waiting slots. The ants will march up the right side and start eating the small green patches near the top. They will also clear the white tiles located around the ears and the bottom edge of the creature. Your waiting slots will have a few blocks sitting in them during this phase so you must make sure the ants keep moving. Do not pull any yellow blocks until the white and green blocks are actively counting down.

Step 3: Attack the yellow body to hollow out the center of the creature.

Now that the outer shell is exposed you can start dismantling the main body. Pull the large yellow 30 and 40 blocks from the tray. The ants now have a direct path into the center of the creature and will swarm the massive yellow sections. Watch the numbers on the blocks drop rapidly as the core of the picture starts to disappear. You will also uncover more yellow blocks in the tray including a 9 and a 24. Feed these into the waiting slots one by one as space allows. You never want to crowd the five slots. Let the ants finish a yellow block completely before you pull another one of a different color.

Step 4: Remove the lower beige sections to open the bottom left corner.

While the ants are chewing through the yellow body you can target the beige skin tones on the lower left side. Find the beige 20 block and the beige 14 block in the tray. Move them to the waiting slots as soon as a spot opens up. The ants will head to the bottom left corner of the creature and clear out the shading. This opens up even more walking paths across the bottom of the board. Keeping multiple colors active at the same time is a great way to clear the board faster but you must be certain that both colors have exposed tiles.

Step 5: Target the orange cheeks and the brown tail to remove the features.

The creature still has distinct facial features and a tail that block your progress. Locate the orange 23 block and the brown 13 block in the lower layers of the tray. Pull them up. The ants will head straight for the round orange cheeks on the face and the jagged brown tail located at the bottom right. This clears a huge section of the lower board and leaves only the thick outline and a few stray details behind. Wait patiently for the orange and brown numbers to hit zero before you prepare for the biggest move of the level.

Step 6: Unleash the dark purple block to erase the thick outline.

screenshot

A massive dark purple 54 block sits deep in the tray waiting for this exact moment. Pull it into the waiting slots now. The ants will form a long continuous line around the entire shape of the creature to eat the dark purple border. This outline is very thick and the number 54 takes a long time for the ants to process. You have to wait and let them work. If you pull other blocks while the 54 is working you risk jamming your slots. Watch as the heavy border completely vanishes and leaves the board mostly empty.

Step 7: Clear the pink hearts and finish feeding the Hungry Door.

screenshot

The final cleanup phase requires you to clear the pink hearts floating near the top right and the last few scattered tiles. Pull the remaining pink blocks and any leftover light green or yellow blocks from the tray. The ants will rush to the top right to eat the hearts. As the last tiles disappear the Hungry Door in the top left finally reaches zero. The door pops open and vanishes. The final ants will clean up the remaining pixels and return to the nest to secure your win.

Final Thought

This board tests your patience and your ability to manage massive block numbers without panicking. The trick is simply waiting for the large background and the thick outline to clear before you make your next move. If you fill your slots too fast you will trap your ants and lose the board. Take your time and let the paths open naturally. If any step is hard to follow in text please watch the video above this article to see the exact block order in action.
