Welcome to Colony Flow Level 604. This puzzle gives you a colorful pixel art treasure chest overflowing with glowing gems to clear away. You need to guide your ants carefully to avoid filling your waiting slots while hunting down keys to unlock vital blocks in your tray. I play every level myself and this guide will show you how to beat this board without getting stuck.

Colony Flow Level 604 Overview

What You Are Working With

The picture for this level is a large red treasure chest with yellow trim and bright light blue gems sitting inside. The background surrounding the chest is a solid wall of green tiles. You pull numbered blocks from the tray at the bottom to send out colored ants that match the specific tiles on the board. The colors you will manage include green, red, brown, orange, yellow, and light blue.

This level features the Lock and Key special mechanic. You will notice a yellow padlock on a green block in your tray and another yellow padlock on a light blue block deeper in the stack. You must collect keys hidden in the picture to unlock these blocks. You cannot select or move a locked block until you gather all the required keys from the board. The keys are collected automatically when your ants eat the tiles that cover them. You have to plan your early moves around reaching those key areas fast so your tray does not get clogged with blocks you cannot use.

What It Takes to Clear Level 604 Board

You win this level by removing every single pixel art tile from the board so the picture disappears completely. Your main threat is the row of five waiting slots at the bottom of the screen. When you pull a block from the tray it sits in one of these slots while the ants stream out to do their work. If you fill all five slots with colors that have no open path to their matching tiles on the board you lose the level immediately.

To clear the board safely you must pace your moves and always keep a path open. You have to unlock the padlocked tray blocks as soon as possible to keep your options open. Every decision should focus on preventing the board from hitting a dead end. Managing your space in the five waiting slots is the only way to ensure the ants finish the entire picture.

Colony Flow Level 604 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Open the bottom left corner to create a reliable entry point.

Start by pulling the brown 34 block and the orange 17 block into your empty waiting slots. The ants will stream out of the nest and chew away the dark shadows and trim under the left side of the treasure chest. This action breaks open the solid wall of tiles and gives your colony plenty of room to move around the bottom edges. You always want to create a wide opening early on so your ants never hit a dead end. Watch the numbers on the blocks drop as the ants find their targets. Keep an eye on your five waiting slots because filling them up too fast will cause an instant loss. Leaving three slots completely empty right now keeps your flow perfectly safe.

Step 2: Target the bottom green border to expose the hidden keys.

Now you need to bring up the green 35 block and the red 45 block from the tray. The green ants will march straight to the bottom edge of the picture and start eating the background tiles. This clears a massive space along the lower boundary and opens a clear path to the base of the chest. It also starts uncovering the areas holding the keys you need for the next phase. You cannot use the locked green block in your tray until you collect enough keys from the board. Sending the green and red ants into the lower section clears exactly what you need to progress. The wide green path ensures your waiting slots empty out quickly and smoothly.

Step 3: Collect the keys to free the padlocked green tray block.

Pull the next green 35 block and the red 30 block into the active area. The red ants will begin dismantling the solid red base of the treasure chest. As they chew through the lower tiles they pick up the keys scattered in that area. Once the ants eat those specific tiles the yellow padlock on your waiting green block shatters and disappears. Now that green block is completely free to use. This prevents your tray from getting jammed up with useless locked items. You should always prioritize clearing paths that hold keys because leaving locked blocks in the tray limits your color choices and pushes you closer to losing.

Step 4: Push through the yellow trim to reach the second set of keys.

You still have another locked block to worry about which is a light blue 40 block sitting deep in the tray. To get the remaining keys you must clear the bright yellow trim around the middle of the chest. Pull the yellow 44 block and the orange 10 block into your available slots. The ants will climb up the exposed sides of the chest and eat away the yellow border. This creates brand new paths deep into the center of the picture where the light blue gems rest. Make sure you only pull the yellow blocks when the trim is fully exposed to the open board. Pulling them too early would trap them in your waiting slots and block other colors from entering the game.

Step 5: Sweep the outer green background to isolate the chest lid.

Bring up the newly unlocked green 30 block along with a fresh green 10 block. The ants will flood the left and right sides of the screen to eat the remaining green background tiles. This massive swarm strips away all the excess color and leaves only the main red body of the chest and the blue gems inside. Taking out the background now is a very safe move because the outside edges are completely exposed to the nest. Your ants have a clear run at the tiles which means your waiting slots will empty out very fast. A fast empty slot is exactly what you want to maintain a steady flow and avoid a board jam.

Step 6: Break down the bulky red chest lid to open the center.

The top half of the chest requires a large number of red ants to clear away. Pull the red 26 block and the red 28 block into your waiting area. The ants will march up the sides and attack the curved top of the chest to eat the thick red layers. The numbers on these blocks are high so it takes a little time for the ants to finish the job. You must be patient and let the red blocks count all the way down before you pull too many other colors into the slots. Do not overcrowd your waiting area. Let the ants work their way through the bulky lid so you keep an open path to the gems inside.

Step 7: Clear the bright light blue gems to finish the level.

By now you have collected all the keys from the red and yellow areas and your locked light blue block is ready for action. Pull the light blue 40 block and the final light blue 9 block into the tray. The ants will rush straight into the center of the chest and devour the glowing gem tiles. You might have a few random red or green tiles left over on the edges so just pull the final matching blocks to clean them up. The light blue ants will polish off the center treasure pile and the picture will disappear completely. Once the last tile is gone and the slots empty out you win the level.

Final Thought

This level is all about pacing your moves and grabbing those keys before your tray gets too crowded. If you focus on keeping wide open paths and managing your five waiting slots you will get through the treasure chest without a single jam. Watch the video above this article if any step is hard to follow in text and you will see exactly how the ants flow. Keep your tray clear and you will easily beat this puzzle.
