Colony Flow Level 166 presents a massive pixel art figure surrounded by an enormous solid background. You have to carve your way through the outer shell before you can even touch the main picture. I played this level from start to finish and figured out the best order to pull the blocks. You must manage your tray slots perfectly to survive the extremely high block counts.
Colony Flow Level 166 Overview
What You Are Working With
The board displays a large pixel art character that looks like a winged roller skater. The character features a mix of yellow wings, red and dark blue clothing, tan skin, and black skate wheels. A massive light blue background entirely surrounds the skater. This background blocks access to the upper parts of the figure.
The tray at the bottom starts with a monumental challenge. You see a light blue block with a count of 400 right in the first row. You also see a red block with a count of 149 and a couple of smaller tan and yellow blocks. The hidden rows beneath hold more light blue blocks, dark blue blocks, black blocks, and extra yellow blocks. You have exactly five empty slots waiting to receive these blocks. Filling all five slots without an open path for the ants to move will instantly end your game.
What It Takes to Clear Level 166 Board
You win this level by chipping away the gigantic light blue border to expose the central figure. You must start from the very bottom edge and work your way up the sides. The background acts like a protective shell around the skater. You clear the board by matching the tray colors to the exposed sections of the picture while always keeping at least one slot open and moving. Because the light blue background is so large, you will need to run multiple light blue blocks at the same time to process the sheer number of tiles.
Colony Flow Level 166 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Pull the massive background block and the first red block to start the board.
You begin by tapping the 400 count light blue block. A huge swarm of light blue ants streams out of the nest hole and attacks the bottom edge of the background. They spread out to the left and right corners. Next you tap the 149 count red block. The red ants find a clear path straight to the bottom edge of the skater clothing. You now have two active blocks in your tray and three empty slots. The ants will take a long time to chew through these large numbers. Leaving three slots empty guarantees you will not hit a dead end early in the level.
Step 2: Add a second light blue block and a dark blue block to increase your clearing speed.
The giant 400 count block drains slowly. You tap the 82 count light blue block from the tray to send out a second wave of ants. They join the first swarm and help clear the left and right edges of the background much faster. You then tap the 43 count dark blue block. The dark blue ants travel up through the paths you just opened in the red sections to reach the lower pants area. Your tray holds four active blocks now. You still have one open slot to keep the board moving safely. The outer shell shrinks as the ants eat their way up the sides.
Step 3: Introduce the first yellow block to work on the bottom of the figure.
The first red block finally hits zero and leaves the tray. This opens up a valuable slot. You tap the 45 count yellow block to replace it. The yellow ants rush toward the bottom center of the board. They begin clearing the bright yellow skates and the lower legs of the character. Your two light blue blocks continue to drain steadily in the background. The board remains safe because the light blue boundary is so massive that the ants always have an open target.
Step 4: Bring out the black block to eliminate the skate wheels on the left side.
The dark blue block finishes its job and frees another slot. You tap the 15 count black block. The black ants head straight for the far left side of the character. They quickly eat the small cluster of black tiles that make up the back wheels of the skates. You also see a 24 count light blue block in the tray. You tap it to send a third wave of ants against the background. The light blue area is now heavily reduced and the central figure is completely exposed at the bottom.
Step 5: Release another yellow block to attack the large wings in the center.
You have successfully cleared the entire bottom half of the skater. The massive yellow wings spanning the center of the board are now fully accessible. You tap the next yellow block from the tray. The yellow ants march up the cleared center channel and spread out across the wide wingspan. Managing your tray is very straightforward at this point because the yellow area provides a huge open target. The ants will not get stuck and your slots will remain active.
Step 6: Bring up the tan blocks to clear the skin tone areas of the character.
The black block completely leaves the tray after finishing the wheels. You tap the 23 count tan block to fill the empty slot. The tan ants move toward the exposed hands and face of the skater. You also spot another red block waiting in the tray. You tap it to send ants after the remaining top sections of the red shirt. The main figure is rapidly disappearing as the ants swarm the upper half of the board. The light blue background is reduced to just the top corners.
Step 7: Clear the final dark blue sections and the top border to win the level.
The wings are mostly gone now. You tap the 33 count dark blue block from the tray. The dark blue ants rush up to finish the very last blue sections of the clothing. Only a thin layer of light blue background remains at the very top edge of the board. Your original massive 400 count block finally drops into the single digits. You let the last few ants sweep up the top row of tiles. The board completely clears and you win the level.
Final Thought
This level tests your patience with incredibly high block counts right at the start. You survive by focusing on the background first and never letting your tray fill up with blocked colors. Keep your ants moving on the edges and the center will naturally open up.
