Colony Flow Level 8 gives you a tasty looking pixel art sandwich to dismantle. You need to strip away the crust and eat through the lettuce and ham to reach the fried egg in the middle. The layout forces you to work from the outside in while managing your five waiting slots carefully. This stage steps up the difficulty from earlier levels by giving you a solid border that blocks the inner food tiles. I will show you exactly how to clear every bite without jamming your board. You have to think ahead before you tap any block in the tray because one wrong pull can fill your slots and end your run.
Colony Flow Level 8 Overview
What You Are Working With
Let us break down the board. The picture is a large square sandwich. It has a thick brown crust surrounding the entire outer edge. Inside the crust you see green lettuce in the bottom corners and pink ham in the top right corner. The center contains a layer of beige cheese topped with a thick white egg and a yellow yolk. The tray at the bottom starts with brown blocks, orange blocks, and green blocks. You also have grey Hidden Boxes in the tray. A Hidden Box hides its color until it has a valid path to move. You cannot know what ants live inside until you make room on the board.
Level 8 Objective
You clear the level by feeding every single pixel of the sandwich to your ants. You win when the picture is fully cleared and your ants return to the nest hole. You lose if you fill all five waiting slots with blocks that have no open path to their matching food colors. The game ends instantly if a jam happens. Every move you make must focus on keeping at least one food path open so the numbered blocks keep counting down and leaving the slots.
Colony Flow Level 8 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Start with the outer crust and bottom cheese.
Start your game by pulling the brown block and the orange block into your waiting slots. The brown ants will immediately march up the left and right sides of the board to start eating the thick brown crust surrounding the sandwich. The orange ants target the bottom edge of the cheese. Pulling the brown block first is the most critical move of the entire level. The crust forms a solid wall around the inner ingredients. If you do not send brown ants to eat the border right away, your other ants will have nowhere to go. Keep an eye on the numbers on your brown blocks. As the ants stream out of the nest hole and eat the crust, the numbers count down and leave the slots open.
Step 2: Clear away the lettuce and ham layers.
Once the bottom edge opens up slightly from your first moves, pull a green block and a pink block from the tray. Green ants will flood the bottom left corner to eat the green lettuce. Pink ants will travel all the way up the right side to chew away the pink ham layer. Keeping these two colors active at the same time ensures your waiting slots stay moving. The green ants have a very short path to the bottom corner. The pink ants have a much longer walk to the top right corner. You want them moving simultaneously so you do not waste time. As the lettuce and ham disappear, you will notice the inner cheese layer becoming completely exposed.
Step 3: Peel back the beige cheese layer.
Now you need to pull a beige block to release the beige ants. They will target the square slice of cheese sitting right under the egg. At the same time you should pull another brown block to keep chipping away at the remaining crust on the top edge. You must keep the crust clearing so the absolute top sections of the sandwich become accessible. The beige ants work quickly because the cheese layer is a flat block of color. Watch your five slots closely here. You might have three or four slots full of different colors. Just make sure the brown and beige blocks have clear paths and you will never hit a dead end.
Step 4: Flood the massive egg white section.
When the ham and lettuce layers are mostly gone, a huge white block becomes available in the tray. Pull it down into an open slot. An army of white ants will swarm the large egg white section in the middle of the sandwich. Your waiting slots will look very full right now. You might even have all five slots occupied with small numbers of beige blocks, pink blocks, and white blocks. Do not panic when this happens. Just let the ants work through the massive white section to keep the line moving. The white block has a very high number because the egg white takes up a huge portion of the board. Give the ants time to process the food.
Step 5: Reveal the hidden boxes and eat the yolk.
As you empty the upper layers of the tray, the grey Hidden Boxes will finally reveal their true colors. You will see new orange blocks and green blocks appear. Pull the newly revealed orange and green blocks into your slots. These ants will march in to finish off the yellow yolk in the center and the last stubborn pieces of lettuce on the sides. Make sure the white ants are still finishing the egg white so your slots do not jam. The yolk is entirely surrounded by the egg white. The orange ants cannot reach the yolk until the white ants eat away the border. This is exactly why you must let the white ants work first.
Step 6: Finish the final center pixels.
The tray will drop a massive brown block and another large white block at the very end of the sequence. Pull them into your final open slots. The white ants will eat the very last pieces of the egg white lingering on the board. The brown ants will sweep right through the center to eat the final few brown meat pieces hiding under the egg. You might not have even noticed those brown pixels earlier because they sit right in the middle of the white sections. Once the brown ants grab those last bites, the picture vanishes and you win the level.
Overall Strategy to Clear Level 8 Board
- Focus on the perimeter first. The brown crust completely blocks all access to the top half of the sandwich. You must prioritize brown blocks early to build highways for your other ants. If you ignore the crust, your pink ants will never reach the ham.
- Wait for the large color blocks to clear paths. The white egg section requires massive numbered blocks to clear. Do not pull smaller blocks of different colors if you think they will block the massive white blocks from entering the slots. Patience is a virtue when waiting for big sections to open.
- Reveal hidden boxes quickly so you can plan. You cannot map your final moves until you know what the grey hidden boxes hold. Clear the top tray layers fast to expose those boxes. Knowing their colors early helps you balance your slot usage perfectly without hitting a dead end.
- Balance your top and bottom clearing. Send pink ants to the top right ham while green ants work the bottom left lettuce. Distributing your ants to different corners prevents them from clustering on one single path. Spread out the work to keep the board flowing freely.
Final Thought
Level 8 tests your patience with that thick outer crust. You have to peel the sandwich away layer by layer just like you would eat a real one. Take your time and always keep a path open for the current active blocks in your tray. Make sure you clear the edges before trying to reach the center.
