Welcome to Colony Flow Level 138. This specific puzzle features a bright and detailed pixel art mushroom set entirely against a solid green background. You have to carefully carve your way from the bottom of the screen to the top to uncover all the paths for your ants. Managing a board with this many different colors requires a solid strategy and a lot of patience. I play every single level myself to figure out the safest routes and the best block orders. Today I will guide you through exactly how I cleared this board without jamming the waiting slots. You will learn how to sequence your moves properly and keep the colony flowing from start to finish.

Colony Flow Level 138 Overview

What You Are Working With

The board displays a highly detailed mushroom picture right in the center. It has a thick black outline that separates the different internal colors and gives the picture its unique shape. The background surrounding the mushroom on all sides is completely green. The mushroom itself consists of a sturdy yellow stem and a massive cap. The cap is divided into two main sections. It has a light blue lower half and a vibrant purple upper half. Scattered across the purple area are several bright white spots. The underside of the cap directly above the yellow stem is also entirely white. Down in your tray at the bottom of the screen you will find a large and varied mix of numbered color blocks. You have multiple green blocks with high numbers to handle the massive background. You have black blocks to take care of the outline. You also have yellow, white, light blue, and purple blocks waiting to clear the inner parts of the mushroom. Every single color is represented and you will need to use them all perfectly.

What It Takes to Clear Level 138 Board

To beat this level you must peel the picture away in careful distinct layers. The ants always start their journey from the dark nest hole located at the bottom center of the screen. This absolute rule means you must clear the bottom sections of the picture first to physically open paths to the higher parts. Your main goal and the absolute key to winning is to prevent your five waiting slots from filling up with blocks that have nowhere to go. If you pull a color block from the tray before its matching tiles are open on the board the block simply sits in the slot. The number will not go down and the block will not disappear. If five blocks get stuck in this way your game will jam and you will instantly fail the level. Always keep at least one block active and counting down. You will work deliberately from the bottom green background and the black stem outline upward into the yellow stem and the white underbelly. From there you will move upward into the blue and purple sections of the cap before finally clearing the top green background.

Colony Flow Level 138 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Open the bottom edges with green and black blocks to start the flow

When the level starts you only have physical access to the very bottom tiles on the board. These accessible tiles are the green background pieces on the lower left and lower right corners along with the black outline at the absolute base of the mushroom stem. Pull a green block and a black block from the tray into your waiting slots to get the colony moving. The green ants will immediately march out of the hole and start eating the bottom corners of the green background. The black ants will follow their own path to chew away the black outline at the base of the stem. You might be tempted to pull the large white blocks sitting at the top of your tray right away just to see what is underneath them. You can safely pull one or two white blocks into the slots to reveal the hidden tray colors but you must strictly leave at least two slots open for active colors. The white tiles on the board are not fully accessible yet. If you fill all five slots with white blocks early on your game will jam and you will have to begin again. Keep your active slots focused on the green and black colors to steadily widen your starting area at the bottom.

Step 2: Clear the white underbelly and yellow stem to open the middle

As the hardworking black ants clear the bottom outline they gradually expose the yellow stem and the bright white layer just under the mushroom cap. Now those white blocks you pulled earlier will finally spring into action. White ants will stream out of the nest and begin dismantling the white underbelly of the cap. At the exact same time you should pull a yellow block into an empty waiting slot. Yellow ants will begin eating the stem from the bottom upward. Your waiting slots will start to breathe a little easier as the numbers on the white and yellow blocks rapidly tick down. Closely monitor the black blocks during this phase as well. Pull another black block when a slot naturally opens up because the black ants need to continuously chew the outline going up the sides of the stem. This constant upward progress keeps your slots moving and prevents any closed paths from ruining your run.

Step 3: Access the light blue lower cap to continue moving upward

With the yellow stem partially gone and the white underbelly completely cleared out the light blue section of the mushroom cap finally becomes exposed to your ants. Look down at your tray and find the light blue blocks. Pull a light blue block into an available slot to keep the momentum going forward. A massive swarm of light blue ants will pour out of the nest hole and eagerly attack the blue band stretching completely across the cap. During this phase you will see intense and satisfying activity all over the board. Yellow ants are still finishing the top portions of the stem. Black ants are still creeping up the outer edges of the cap to break the outline. The light blue ants are aggressively carving out the middle. This is a very rewarding part of the level because you have multiple colors working simultaneously. Just make absolute sure you do not pull any purple blocks quite yet. The purple tiles are firmly locked behind the light blue tiles and pulling purple now would only clog a valuable slot for no reason.

Step 4: Break into the purple cap and uncover the white spots

Once the light blue ants eat away a significant portion of the blue band they will expose the dark purple top half of the cap. This is your clear signal to pull a purple block into a waiting slot. Purple ants will immediately surge upward and start clearing the large purple section. As they quickly eat away the purple tiles they will begin to uncover the white spots dotted across the cap. Any remaining white blocks sitting in your slots will instantly reactivate. White ants will rush past the purple ants to gobble up those newly uncovered white spots. Carefully manage your tray inventory here. You have several large purple blocks to pull from the bottom. Bring them up one by one as physical space allows in your slots. You also need to keep a watchful eye on the remaining black outline. Pull another black block to let the black ants finish the outline around the top curve of the mushroom.

Step 5: Finish the inner colors and dissolve the final black outline

screenshot

At this late stage the central part of the board is almost entirely clear of tiles. You only have a few straggling pieces of yellow, purple, and black remaining on the screen. Pull any leftover yellow blocks to completely eliminate the final pieces of the stem. Pull your absolute last black block to dissolve the very top of the protective outline. The purple ants will continue munching the last bits of the cap until the color is entirely gone. Your waiting slots will be mostly empty now which is exactly what you want to see. You are actively preparing for the final massive push to clear the board. By clearing out all these internal colors you open a direct and wide path to the remaining green background at the very top of the board. Do not pull any green blocks until the black outline is completely broken on both the left and right sides and the top.

Step 6: Sweep the remaining top green background to win the level

The only thing left on the board is the large green area filling the top corners and stretching across the very top edge. Look at your tray and you will see your final massive green blocks waiting for you. Pull these green blocks into your waiting slots to initiate the final sequence. A huge colony of green ants will emerge from the nest hole. They will naturally split up and travel up both the left side and the right side of the screen. They will swarm the remaining green tiles and eat their way toward the top center. Because you kept your slots perfectly clear and opened every single path earlier the green ants will have no trouble reaching every last tile. You will watch the numbers on your green blocks rapidly count down to zero as the last pixel disappears from the screen. The board clears completely and you successfully win the level.

Final Thought

Colony Flow Level 138 requires a lot of patience especially with the early white blocks and careful management of your waiting slots. You must always resist the urge to pull colors before their matching tiles are physically exposed on the board. By working steadily and methodically from the bottom upward you keep the ants moving and the board flowing smoothly. If you ever have trouble visualizing the exact paths the ants take or the timing of the block pulls I highly recommend watching the video above this article to see the full run in motion. It will perfectly show you exactly how the strategy comes together.
