Colony Flow Level 44 presents you with a large pixel art dog sitting on a bright green grass background. You must direct your ant colony to consume every single tile to beat the board and win the level. This puzzle requires careful tray management to ensure your ants always have an open path to the correct colored food. I played this level myself and will guide you through the exact moves to clear the board without getting stuck.
Colony Flow Level 44 Overview
What You Are Working With
The board displays a large dog figure right in the center of the screen. The dog has a dark brown and light brown body covered with black outline tiles. It wears a bright light blue collar around its neck. The paws and snout feature light orange tiles. The entire background consists of bright green grass tiles that wrap around the dog on all sides. Your tray at the bottom holds a large stack of numbered color blocks. You also have hidden box tiles in this level. These hidden box blocks display a question mark and hide their true color until you clear a valid path for them to move. You must plan your pulls around these hidden boxes so they do not jam your waiting area. You will see large numbers like forty and thirty five on your starting green blocks.
What It Takes to Clear Level 44 Board
You win when the ants eat every pixel art tile and return to their nest hole at the bottom. The primary challenge involves managing the five waiting slots at the bottom of the screen. You lose if you fill all five slots with blocks that the ants cannot reach. The outer edges of the green grass are completely open at the start of the level. You must peel the puzzle back layer by layer from the outside toward the inside. Opening a path means clearing outer tiles so the ants can reach the inner colors like the dark brown legs or the light blue collar. Every block you pull from the tray must match an exposed color on the board. You must always leave at least one slot open or ensure the active blocks have a clear path to be consumed.
Colony Flow Level 44 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Start by clearing the bottom outer green grass tiles
You need to begin by pulling the large green numbered blocks from the top of your tray. The board starts with the green background completely wrapping around the dog and sitting very close to the ant hole. The ants will stream out of the nest and naturally target the exposed green tiles along the bottom edge first. Pull two large green blocks into your waiting slots to get the colony moving. Watch the numbers on your green blocks count down as the ants consume the grass. Keep a steady flow of green blocks going but always keep one or two empty slots in your tray. This move exposes the bottom of the dog legs and prevents early slot jams.
Step 2: Open the path to the dark brown bottom legs
Once the ants remove the bottom grass tiles you will have clear access to the dog paws and lower legs. Pull the dark brown blocks into your waiting slots as soon as the dark brown tiles touch the open space. The ants will march straight up into the bottom right and bottom left legs of the dog. You will also see some black outline tiles become exposed during this process. Pull a small black numbered block to clear those outlines alongside the dark brown tiles. Managing the dark brown and black blocks together keeps the bottom area opening evenly across the whole dog. Do not pull too many different colors at once because the ants need time to process the large sections of color.
Step 3: Tackle the light orange paws and hidden box tiles
With the very bottom of the dog cleared you will expose the light orange paws. You will see light orange blocks in your tray which match the dog snout and paws perfectly. Pull a light orange block to let the ants work on the feet. At this point your hidden box tiles in the tray will start revealing their colors. Pay close attention to what the question mark tiles turn into. Only move a newly revealed box into your waiting slots if its color matches the exposed tiles on the dog. If a hidden box reveals a color that is trapped in the center of the dog you must leave it in the tray.
Step 4: Clear the light blue collar from the neck
The ants will eventually eat enough of the lower body to reach the middle section of the dog. Now you can safely pull the light blue blocks to clear the collar. The light blue collar acts as a massive barrier dividing the head from the body. Pulling a light blue block sends a massive wave of ants right into the center of the board. Watch the blue number drop rapidly as the ants chew through the collar. Eating the collar splits the dog into the top head and the bottom back section. This creates much more surface area for the ants to attack in your upcoming moves. Continue to clear any leftover black outline tiles near the collar area.
Step 5: Send ants to the upper green grass section
With the bottom and middle of the dog completely gone you will notice a large section of green grass still sitting at the top of the board. The ants now have a very long path to travel from the nest at the bottom all the way to the top edge. Pull several large light green blocks to send your colony upward. The long travel distance means your blocks will sit in the waiting slots for a much longer time than usual. Do not panic and do not fill your remaining empty slots with other random colors. Wait patiently for the ants to reach the top and eat the green grass. Giving the ants time to walk prevents a fatal slot jam.
Step 6: Consume the light orange snout and face
As the top grass disappears the ants will have full access to the front of the dog face. Pull the next round of light orange blocks to send the ants into the snout. The face area contains a dense cluster of light orange and light brown tiles. You need to rotate between pulling light orange blocks and light brown blocks to keep the ants moving efficiently. Keep checking your tray for any newly revealed hidden boxes that match the face colors. Drop them into the waiting slots only when the path is fully exposed. The dog face will quickly vanish as the ants swarm the snout.
Step 7: Clean up the final head and ear tiles
The final sequence involves clearing the remaining dark brown light brown and black tiles that make up the top of the dog head and ears. Pull your remaining dark brown and light brown blocks into the tray. The ants will march all the way to the top and swarm the ears. You will likely have a few small numbered blocks left in your tray like a dark brown five or a black four. Pull these final small blocks to clean up the last remaining pixels. Make sure the ants have completely finished a color before you pull the very last block. Once the final pixel disappears the level is complete.
Final Thought
Clearing this board requires a calm approach to tray management and a good understanding of ant travel time. You simply need to avoid rushing your block pulls when the ants have to walk all the way to the top of the screen.
