Welcome to Colony Flow Level 534. This puzzle presents a bright pixel art fish swimming in light blue water. You need to guide your ants carefully to eat away the design without filling up your waiting slots. I played through this level and found the best route to empty the board safely.

Colony Flow Level 534 Overview

What You Are Working With

The board features a colourful fish surrounded by light blue background tiles. The fish itself has a dark outline made of dark blue and black tiles. Inside that outline you will see a red tail and a green top fin. The main body contains yellow and orange sections. Below the board you have your main tool area. The ants sit in a hole waiting for you to pull numbered blocks from the tray. You have five waiting slots available at the bottom of the screen. Every time you pull a block from the tray it goes into one of those slots. The number on the block tells you how many tiles the ants can eat using that specific color. You must always match the block color to the accessible tiles on the board.

What It Takes to Clear Level 534 Board

Clearing this board requires you to manage your space perfectly from start to finish. Your main goal is to avoid dead ends. You lose the level if all five waiting slots fill up and no ants can reach matching colors on the board. Therefore you always want to make sure the color you pick has a wide open path. The trick for this fish puzzle is to work from the outside in. You start at the lower left near the tail and slowly carve your way through the dark outline. Once the outline breaks you gain access to the red tail and the green fin. Eventually you eat away the entire fish leaving only the light blue water tiles for the absolute end. You win when every single tile is gone and your ants return home.

Colony Flow Level 534 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Start by clearing the dark outline near the fish tail

Your first move should target the lower left corner of the fish outline. Pull a dark blue block from the tray and watch the ants stream out of the hole. They will crawl up and begin eating the dark outline tiles around the tail section. The number on your dark blue block will count down as each tile vanishes. You might see a dark blue block with a nine or a ten on it. Use it here to make a big dent in that outer border. You want to make sure you do not pull too many blocks at once. Let the ants do their work and carve a path into the red section of the fish. This breaks the wall and opens up more surface area for your next colors. Keep an eye on your waiting slots and only pull a new block when you know the ants have a clear path to reach those tiles.

Step 2: Use light blue blocks to clear the water around the back

Once the bottom left edge is open you will notice some light blue water tiles blocking access to the upper tail. Pull a light blue block from your tray to clear this water away. You might pull a block showing a nineteen or a twenty one. The ants will march up and strip away the background around the back half of the fish. This is a crucial move because it exposes the upper edge of the red tail and the back of the green fin. Always remember your core rule about keeping paths open so the waiting slots do not jam. By clearing the water you ensure your future red and green blocks will not get stuck in the waiting area. The ants now have a wide open lane to attack the main body of the fish.

Step 3: Attack the red tiles making up the fish tail

Now that the water is out of the way you can focus heavily on the red tail. Find a red block in your tray and send it up to the waiting slots. You might use a red block with a twenty eight or a fourteen. The red ants will swarm the tail section and start devouring the tiles rapidly. As the red tiles disappear the back half of the fish opens up completely. You will start to see the yellow and orange tiles of the main body becoming fully accessible from the rear. Make sure you let the red block count down fully before you rush into pulling another color. You need to keep at least one of your five slots open to avoid a fatal jam. If you fill all five slots right now you risk failing the level early.

Step 4: Continue stripping the dark outline under the belly

With the tail gone you need to move your attention along the bottom edge of the fish. Look for another dark blue block in your tray. Pull it up to send your ants after the dark outline running directly under the belly. You might see a ten or a thirty six on this block. The ants will march right into the gap you created earlier and follow the outline towards the front of the face. Stripping this bottom border is very helpful because it exposes the lower yellow and orange tiles to the open board. It also gives your ants a straight path up into the center of the design without fighting around the outside. You are basically carving out the inside of the fish from the bottom up. Your waiting slots should remain clear as long as you let the dark blue ants finish their current job.

Step 5: Peel away the green and yellow upper fin area

Your next target is the top half of the fish. The green fin and the upper yellow body tiles are now fully exposed to the board. Pull a green block showing a thirty four or a thirty two into your waiting area. The ants will climb up and start eating the green fin. While they do that you can also pull a yellow block to work on the yellow body tiles simultaneously. You might use a yellow block with a thirty four or a seventeen. Because the front and back of the fin are open you can safely run two colors at once without blocking the paths. Just watch the numbers count down and enjoy watching the top half of the fish disappear completely. The pixel art will really start to vanish at this point leaving just the core and the front face.

Step 6: Clear the orange body and the remaining face details

screenshot

Only the center orange body and a few facial details remain of the main fish design. Locate an orange block in your tray and slide it into a waiting slot. You might see a nineteen on this particular orange block. The ants will rush in and consume the bright orange tiles right in the middle of the board. As the orange clears you will see the last bits of the fish completely dissolve into nothing. You have successfully removed the entire pixel art design of the fish itself. This is a great feeling because you know the tricky part is completely over. You avoided filling up your five slots and you never created a frustrating dead end. Now only the surrounding water is left to deal with.

Step 7: Flood the board with light blue blocks to finish the water background

The final stretch of the level is all about cleaning up the light blue background tiles. Your board is basically empty except for a large ring of water tiles around the outer edges. Look at your tray and you will see multiple light blue blocks remaining. You might see numbers like twelve or fifteen or seventeen waiting for you. Pull these light blue blocks into your waiting slots one after another. Since the entire center of the board is completely open the ants have unlimited paths to reach the water tiles. They will spread out in every direction and eat the remaining blue borders very quickly. Keep pulling the light blue blocks until the final tile disappears and the screen is totally clean. You have beaten the board.

Final Thought

Managing your space and taking the puzzle piece by piece is the real secret here. Working from the tail to the head ensures you never block a path and your waiting slots never jam. Please watch the video above this article if any step gives you trouble or if you want to see the sequence in motion.
