Colony Flow Level 106 presents a really fun pixel art cat face that requires careful layer management to beat. You have to peel away the outside edge before you can touch the inside details. Let me walk you through exactly how I beat this board and kept my tray moving.
Colony Flow Level 106 Overview
What You Are Working With
The board features a large cat face made of brightly colored tiles. A solid yellow background surrounds the entire cat. The cat itself has a thick dark purple outline. Inside the outline you will find a white lower face, a teal upper head and teal ears, pink inner ears, pink paws at the bottom, and bright green eyes. You do not have to worry about any hidden boxes, connected boxes, or chocolate on this level. You are dealing entirely with standard colored food tiles. Your tray at the bottom starts packed with high number yellow blocks. Further back in the queue you can see pink, green, teal, dark purple, and massive white blocks waiting to come up.
What It Takes to Clear Level 106 Board
You win the level when the ants eat every single pixel art tile on the board and return to the nest. Your primary threat is filling your five waiting slots with blocks the ants cannot reach. If you pull a pink block before the ants clear a path to the pink tiles, that block sits dead in your tray. If all five slots jam this way, you fail the level immediately. You must clear this board from the outside moving inward. You will strip away the yellow background first to expose the dark purple outline. Then you will clear the outline to open paths into the white face, the pink paws, and the green eyes.
Colony Flow Level 106 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Clear the yellow background layer
You must focus your first moves entirely on the yellow background surrounding the cat. Look at your tray and pull the 22 yellow block, the 38 yellow block, and the 35 yellow block into your waiting slots. The ants will stream out of the nest and immediately wrap around the outside of the cat face to eat the yellow tiles. Do not touch any other colors yet. As the first yellow blocks count down and disappear, pull the 50 yellow block and the 40 yellow block up to keep the momentum going. You want a constant stream of ants chewing away that outer yellow layer.
Step 2: Feed dark purple blocks to break the outline
Once the ants clear the bulk of the yellow background, the dark purple outline of the cat becomes fully accessible. You will still have a small yellow block finishing up in your tray. Pull two of the 30 dark purple blocks into your open waiting slots. The ants will shift their focus from the corners of the board to the thick dark purple border framing the cat head. This is a crucial phase because breaking this outline is the only way to gain access to the inner colors.
Step 3: Introduce teal to start the upper head
As the ants eat away the dark purple outline around the top of the head, they will expose the edges of the teal ears. You will see a 35 teal block and a 5 teal block become available in your tray queue. Pull the 35 teal block into an open slot. The colony will split their attention. Some ants will continue eating the dark purple border while others begin stripping the teal tiles from the very top of the cat ears. This keeps two distinct paths open and prevents your waiting slots from jamming.
Step 4: Open the bottom white face
The ants will eventually clear the dark purple outline at the bottom of the board near the chin of the cat. This exposes the large white tile section making up the lower face. Pull the 24 white block into your tray. The ants will flood into the bottom of the cat face and start hollowing it out. You must maintain this white path because the white tiles block access to several other important features inside the face. Keep an eye on the dark purple blocks in your tray and let them drain naturally as the ants clean up the side borders.
Step 5: Target the pink paws and inner ears
Clearing the white chin area directly exposes the two pink paws resting at the bottom of the picture. The ants working on the top of the head will also expose the pink inner ears. Pull the 30 pink block and the 22 pink block into your waiting slots. The ants will swarm the paws and the ears at the same time. This is a very safe move because you have multiple access points for the pink ants. They will drain these pink blocks rapidly and keep your tray slots cycling.
Step 6: Feed the green block for the eyes
With the white face partially hollowed out and the pink paws gone, the bright green eyes are now completely open to the colony. You have a 31 green block sitting in your queue. Pull it up into an available slot. The ants will march right into the center of the face and devour the green eye tiles. By this point the board is very open. You have active paths for green, white, teal, and dark purple. You are in complete control of the level as long as you do not overload the tray with a single color.
Step 7: Clear the remaining dark purple details
The cat face has a few small dark purple details inside the white area representing the nose and mouth lines. As the ants clear the white tiles around them, these inner dark purple tiles become available. Pull the remaining small dark purple blocks from your queue. Since the outer outline is mostly gone, the ants will target these specific facial features. Let these smaller blocks finish counting down to free up valuable space in your waiting slots for the final massive blocks.
Step 8: Deploy the massive white block
You will notice a gigantic 113 white block in your tray queue. This block holds enough food to clear almost the entire remaining white section of the cat face. Wait until you have two completely empty waiting slots before you pull it up. You need breathing room because this huge block will occupy a slot for a long time. Once you pull the 113 white block, the ants will swarm the center of the board. They will methodically eat away the cheeks and the bridge of the nose.
Step 9: Drain the final teal blocks
While the massive white block slowly ticks down, you need to manage the top half of the board. Pull the 32 teal block and the 31 teal block to finish off the upper head. The ants will clear the space between the ears and the top curve of the head. Make sure you alternate pulling a teal block and waiting for a slot to clear. You never want to fill your last empty slot while that giant white block is still sitting there.
Step 10: Let the colony finish the board
The final moments of the level require patience. You will have a small 20 white block and a couple of small dark purple blocks left in the tray. Pull them up only when the ants have a direct line to those specific remaining colors. The ants will clean up the last few white tiles in the very center of the face and eat the final dark purple pixels. Once the board is entirely empty, the ants will stream back down the hole and you will beat the level.
Final Thought
Colony Flow Level 106 tests your patience with layer progression. If you respect the outer yellow background and clear it completely before moving inward, the rest of the board opens up naturally. The biggest trap is that massive white block near the end. Just remember to give it plenty of time to drain while you work on the teal sections above it. If any of these tray combinations feel hard to follow in text, I highly recommend watching the video above this article to see exactly how I pace my block pulls.
