Colony Flow Level 551 gives you a beautiful pixel art sea turtle swimming among fish and coral. You face a wide open board but a highly locked down tray. I love the way the bright colors pop on this stage but the hidden mechanics require serious focus. This puzzle tests your ability to juggle large numbered blocks while dealing with locked items and connected boxes that threaten to fill your five waiting slots. I play every level myself and I will show you exactly how to feed the right paths and clear this board without getting stuck.
Colony Flow Level 551 Overview
What You Are Working With
The picture features a bright green and orange turtle surrounded by light blue water. A thick dark blue border frames the top and sides of the scene. The bottom corners hold pink coral orange coral and green seaweed. You also spot small yellow fish swimming in the background. Down in your tray you will find standard numbered blocks along with lock icons securing certain colors. Connected boxes appear as you pull items up so you must manage pairs of blocks that move together. Every move you make must account for the five available waiting slots at the bottom of your screen.
What It Takes to Clear Level 551 Board
To beat this level you need to systematically remove the light blue water and the dark blue outer frame. Clearing these large outer areas gives your ants room to travel toward the central turtle and the bottom corner decorations. You win once the entire picture disappears and your tray is completely empty. The main challenge is managing your five waiting slots because pulling the connected boxes or pulling colors in the wrong order will trap your ants and end your run. You must always leave at least one active path open so the waiting slots never jam.
Colony Flow Level 551 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Assess the board and deploy the first light blue ants
You begin with a tray full of large numbers and lock icons. Your first priority is the massive light blue water area surrounding the turtle. Pull the massive 45 light blue block followed by the 30 and the 40. These blocks drop into your waiting slots and immediately send a huge swarm of ants to eat the water. The ants spread out rapidly clearing the space around the turtle head and the top corners. Starting with these high capacity blocks guarantees your ants have immediate targets. Your slots will remain flowing and you avoid an early jam. This strong opening creates the physical space you need for the rest of the puzzle.
Step 2: Begin chipping away at the heavy dark blue frame
While the light blue ants clear the water you will see an 8 dark blue block become available in your tray. Pull that dark blue block into your fourth slot. The dark blue ants will immediately target the thick outer border of the picture. The border wraps around the entire top and sides of the scene so you must constantly feed dark blue blocks into your slots whenever a valid path opens. Do not let the dark blue border sit untouched. Keeping a steady stream of dark blue ants running the perimeter ensures you never fall behind and keeps your waiting slots cycling efficiently.
Step 3: Work around the yellow and cyan lock icons in the tray
Notice the yellow and cyan lock icons sitting in your tray. They sit directly on top of crucial blocks preventing you from grabbing the items underneath. You must clear enough of the surrounding open pixels to satisfy the specific lock requirements. Do not panic about the locked state yet. Keep pulling available light blue blocks to carve out more of the water. The water area shrinks slowly giving you better access to the inner turtle sections. By focusing strictly on the accessible colors on the board you naturally progress toward breaking those locks without clogging your five slots with dead end moves.
Step 4: Handle the first set of connected boxes
Now you will encounter the connected boxes in your tray. You will see an orange block linked to another orange block by a thick visible wire. When you pull one of these blocks you automatically pull its partner into the tray. You must ensure you have two completely empty waiting slots before you touch them. Pull the connected orange blocks into your slots. The ants will march down to the bottom left and begin dismantling the intricate orange coral pieces. They will also start chewing on the outer edge of the turtle shell. If you pull connected boxes with only one slot open the game will block your move and disrupt your entire run.
Step 5: Break the yellow lock and unleash the yellow ants
As you clear the water and the outer border you finally break the yellow lock. Once the yellow lock vanishes from the tray you gain access to a massive 48 yellow block and a 35 dark blue block. Pull the 35 dark blue block first to continue stripping away the thick border frame. Then pull the 48 yellow block. The yellow ants will split their attention beautifully across the board. Some will swim straight up to eat the small yellow fish in the upper right corner while the rest swarm the huge yellow pattern on the turtle back. This move dramatically reduces the overall pixel count on the board.
Step 6: Attack the bottom corners to trigger the cyan lock
You still have a cyan lock blocking crucial light blue blocks in your lower tray. Focus your attention completely on the pink and green sections at the bottom to trigger this final lock. Pull the pink 32 block and watch the ants dissolve the bright pink coral on the lower left side. Then pull the 47 green block to clear out the seaweed patches on the lower right side. Freeing up these bottom corners is absolutely vital for your success. Completing the coral and seaweed sections unlocks the cyan keyhole and grants you access to the remaining pieces you need to finish the sky. Keep your pulls steady so your waiting slots do not fill up with trapped colors.
Step 7: Clear the remaining sky sections
Once the cyan lock breaks you gain immediate access to a fresh 49 light blue block and a 40 light blue block. Pull them into your waiting slots so the light blue ants can surge upward. They will clear out the large chunk of water directly above the turtle head and finish off the last few blue pixels clinging to the top edge. Getting the light blue color completely off the board frees up massive amounts of space. You now have a very clear view of the final remaining shapes and your tray is much less cluttered.
Step 8: Flood the board with dark blue ants for the final border clear
At the same time the sky clears another pair of connected boxes will appear in your tray. Pull them carefully into two empty slots. You will trigger a massive wave of dark blue ants. These ants will launch a sweeping run around the entire outer edge of the puzzle. They will erase the rest of the dark blue frame in one continuous satisfying motion. Watch as they march in a perfect line eating the last few border pixels on the left and right sides. This leaves only the turtle itself in the center of the board.
Step 9: Dismantle the green turtle body
The board looks incredibly empty now. The water is gone and the heavy border is completely erased. Focus your attention entirely on the central turtle body. Pull the large 20 green block to tackle the head and flippers. The green ants will systematically dismantle the remaining green pixels piece by piece. Keep a close eye on your waiting slots during this phase. You should only have one or two blocks active at this point. Never pull a color if its matching pixels are trapped behind another color or you will fill your final slot and lose the level right at the finish line.
Step 10: Clean up the final yellow and orange pixels
The final phase requires simple precise cleanup. You have a few stray yellow and orange pixels left on the center of the turtle shell. A small 10 yellow block and a tiny 1 orange block sit patiently in your tray. Pull the yellow block to finish the inner pattern of the shell. Wait for the yellow ants to finish their job completely. Then pull the final orange block. A single ant will run out and grab the very last orange pixel on the board. The screen goes completely blank and you win the level.
Final Thought
Managing connected boxes and lock requirements makes this level tricky. Always keep your waiting slots clear and never pull a block unless you see a direct open path for the ants to travel.
