Welcome back to another puzzle guide. Today we are tackling Colony Flow Level 195. This level presents a fun pixel art picture of a watermelon slice on a wooden stick. You will see a large blue circle acting as the background behind the fruit. We need to manage our tray carefully to peel away that background before we can reach the detailed center. The colors are very vibrant and the layout forces you to think ahead. I played this level quite a few times to find the absolute safest path to victory. You want to read the board layout before you start tapping blocks.
Colony Flow Level 195 Overview
What You Are Working With
The picture for this level is a classic summer treat that looks great on the screen. You have a huge light blue background surrounding the main image. The fruit itself is made of bright red tiles for the flesh. Black tiles form the seeds scattered across the red area in small diagonal lines. A layer of bright green tiles creates the curved rind at the bottom of the slice. Finally a brown and tan wooden stick pokes out from the bottom of the green rind.
Down in your tray you will find a tall stack of colored blocks waiting to be used. You have light blue blocks with high numbers to handle that massive background area. You also have red blocks for the fruit body along with green blocks and tan blocks for the lower details. This level introduces several connected boxes to your tray. These linked blocks pull into your waiting slots together as a single package. You must make sure you have enough room in your five slots before you tap a connected pair or you risk clogging your board.
What It Takes to Clear Level 195 Board
Winning this level requires clearing every single colored tile from the board. You achieve this by moving the correct colored blocks from your tray into the five waiting slots at the bottom of the screen. The ants stream out of their nest hole and consume the tiles that match the blocks sitting in your slots. Every time an ant eats a tile the number on the matching block drops by one. When a block reaches zero it vanishes and frees up that waiting slot for a new block.
Your biggest threat is filling all five waiting slots with blocks that have no open paths. The game ends in a loss if those slots fill up and the ants stop moving entirely. You must always prioritize blocks that can immediately connect to open tiles on the board. We will focus on the outer edges first and slowly work our way into the center of the fruit. This method guarantees that your ants always have a clear walking path to their target tiles.
Colony Flow Level 195 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Start by clearing the large light blue background circle to open up the board.
Your first major task is removing the thick layer of light blue tiles surrounding the watermelon. Look at your tray and select the high number light blue blocks sitting right at the top. Pull the fifty block and the sixty one block into your waiting slots. The nest will immediately spawn a massive swarm of light blue ants. These ants will march around the outer edges of the fruit and start eating away the background circle. Letting these large numbers run will keep your slots mostly clear and give you time to plan your next move. Wait for the light blue ants to thin out the top and sides of the circle. You want to expose the outer edges of the red watermelon flesh completely. The ants move fast when they have a large solid block of color to consume. Do not pull any other colors yet because the red and green tiles are still mostly trapped inside the blue circle.
Step 2: Bring up the first red blocks to begin eating away the top layer of the fruit.
Once the light blue ants chew through the upper portion of the background you will see the red tiles open up. Tap the red forty nine block from your tray and bring it into an open waiting slot. A stream of red ants will join the light blue ants on the board. The red ants will head straight for the top flat edge of the watermelon slice. This action shrinks the total area of the picture and creates multiple attack angles for your colony. Keep an eye on your waiting slots as these two colors drain down. You still have light blue blocks counting down in the slots. Let the red block drop to a lower number before you pull anything else from the tray. This patience ensures you never lock your board with blocks that cannot find a valid path. The red ants will carve out a massive chunk of the fruit body very quickly.
Step 3: Use the connected boxes carefully to introduce green and continue clearing red.
As you dig deeper into your tray you will spot blocks linked together by a thick line. You will see a light blue block connected to a green block. You also have a red thirty block connected to a red twenty block further down. Make sure you have at least two empty slots before you tap these linked items. Pull the connected red blocks up first to keep the pressure on the fruit body. The fresh wave of red ants will carve deep into the center of the fruit and expose the black seeds. Next you can pull up the connected light blue and green blocks. The remaining light blue ants will finish off the last bits of the background circle while the green ants get to work. The green ants will finally have a clear path to the outer edges of the watermelon rind. Managing these connected boxes properly keeps your numbers dropping and prevents a fatal slot jam.
Step 4: Send in the tan ants to consume the wooden stick at the bottom of the picture.
The lower half of the board opens up beautifully as the background finally disappears. You now have a clear shot at the tan tiles making up the wooden popsicle stick. Tap the tan thirty block from your tray and move it into an empty waiting slot. The tan ants will flow out of the nest and march toward the bottom right corner of the board. They will begin eating the stick from the bottom edge upward toward the green rind. At the same time your red ants and green ants are still working on the fruit body and the rind. You have three different colors active on the board right now. This is a great situation because it drains multiple blocks in your waiting slots simultaneously. Your board is incredibly safe from a dead end when multiple colors are flowing at the exact same time. Watch the tan block number drop rapidly as the ants chew through the straight lines of the wooden stick.
Step 5: Focus on the dark black blocks to clear the seeds scattered inside the fruit.
The red ants have cleared away most of the red flesh by this point in the level. This exposes the small clusters of black tiles that represent the watermelon seeds. You will find several black blocks in your tray including some connected pairs. Tap the black thirty block to get your first wave of black ants moving. They will target the scattered seed tiles across the top left and center of the slice. Since the seeds are separated by empty space the ants will take a little longer to travel between them. This extra travel time means your black blocks will count down slower than the solid color areas did. Do not panic and do not flood your remaining open slots. Just let the black ants do their work while you wait for a slot to completely empty out. It takes a moment for them to walk across the empty board but they will eventually reach every single black tile.
Step 6: Clear the final red tiles and pull up the remaining connected black blocks.
You are now in the very late stage of the level. Only a few stray red tiles and the remaining black seeds block your final victory. Pull up the red ten block and the red six block to finish off the very last pieces of the watermelon flesh. As those red numbers hit zero your waiting slots will open up once again. Now tap the connected black forty blocks from the bottom of your tray. A huge swarm of black ants will pour out to consume the rest of the dark seeds. You also have a final green block and a final tan block remaining at the very bottom of your stack. Bring them up to clear the very last pieces of the rind and the wooden stick. The ants will quickly devour these last isolated tiles scattered around the board. Your waiting slots will empty out completely and you will successfully beat the level.
Final Thought
Beating this stage is all about pacing your tray pulls and respecting the connected boxes. You can easily trap yourself if you pull those linked items without enough open paths on the board. Take your time with the background area and let the large numbers drain before you rush the center details. Always prioritize keeping at least one active flow of ants moving at all times. Please watch the video above this article if you find any of these written steps hard to follow.
