Colony Flow Level 39 Overview

What You Are Working With

The puzzle presents a large bright flower design sitting squarely in the middle of the board. The flower features wide pink and white petals surrounded by a very thick dark black outline. You will also see two green leaves resting on the opposite corners of the flower. A massive solid yellow background fills the rest of the available space. Right in the very center of the flower you will spot a cluster of grey tiles completely covered in question marks. These are the Hidden Food tiles for this stage. Hidden Food keeps its true color a secret until you clear the normal tiles touching any adjacent side. Your tray holds a heavy stack of blocks with very high numbers. You will pull yellow blocks holding counts of twenty and sixteen along with large black and pink blocks.

What It Takes to Clear Level 39 Board

Winning this stage requires you to eat every single colored pixel and leave the screen totally blank. Your main obstacle is the strict limit on your waiting slots. You only get five open slots at the bottom of the screen. When you pull a numbered block from the tray it sits in one of these slots until the ants can find a valid open path to matching food. If you pull colors that are buried behind walls of other tiles the block will sit there and hold up traffic. If all five slots fill up and no ants can move you instantly lose the level. You must plan your pulls so the ants always have an open route. You clear this board by breaking the outer outline first and sweeping the large yellow background before pushing into the hidden center.

Colony Flow Level 39 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Open the bottom edge of the flower

Your very first move is to break a hole into the bottom of the picture. The ants need a physical way inside the shape before you can clear the deeper petals. Pull the first pink ten block and the white twelve block from your tray. The ants will march straight up from the nest hole and eat the lowest petals right above the starting point. This creates a small gap in the outer wall. Do not pull too many blocks at once. You want to watch the ants clear these initial food tiles so you know the path is perfectly open. Keeping that path clear ensures your next blocks will never jam up your waiting slots.

Step 2: Breach the dark black outline

Now you need to widen the gap and remove the barrier. Pull the black fifteen block from the tray into an empty slot. A thick stream of black ants will flow out and attack the dark outline at the bottom of the flower. This black outline acts like a wall blocking the inner petals from the outside world. By clearing the bottom section of the black outline you open multiple new routes into the center of the design. You can now see a clear way for your ants to reach the red and deep pink tiles deeper inside. Your waiting slots remain completely safe because the black ants have plenty of exposed tiles to eat.

Step 3: Clear the lower red and pink inner petals

With the heavy outline breached you can send ants deep inside the shape. Select the red ten block and the next pink block from the tray. Red ants will stream straight into the gap and eat the dark red cluster located just below the hidden center. Pink ants will follow right behind them to clean up the adjacent pink petals. This is a very satisfying part of the level because the ants quickly chew away a massive chunk of the flower interior. More importantly this action clears the tiles directly touching the bottom edge of the hidden center. You are getting much closer to unlocking those question marks.

Step 4: Sweep the large yellow background area

This is the perfect time to clear the huge solid yellow background. Look at your tray and select the yellow twenty block followed by the yellow sixteen block. A massive colony of yellow ants will pour out of the nest hole and split in opposite directions. They will march all the way around the outside of the flower to eat the yellow background starting from the bottom and working up to the top corners. Since this background sits completely on the outside edge the ants face absolutely zero blockages. They have a completely open path to travel. This is a very safe move that quickly empties your waiting slots as the large numbers rapidly count down to zero.

Step 5: Attack the green leaves on the corners

While the yellow ants finish up the background you can target the isolated foliage. Pull the green seven block and the green six block into your slots. Green ants will head directly toward the bottom right corner and the top left corner of the flower. They will quickly eat away the leaf tiles. Since the yellow background is mostly gone by now the green ants have a wide open path to travel across the screen. They will not get stuck behind any other colors or cause a pileup. Always make sure the outer background layers are gone before you try to clear isolated sections like these green leaves.

Step 6: Clear the top outline and upper petals

The bottom and outside regions are totally clean so you need to move your focus to the top half of the flower. Pull the remaining black fifteen blocks and the white fifteen blocks from the tray. Black ants will march up the sides and eat the rest of the dark outline ringing the top. White ants will push into the large upper petals. You might notice your waiting slots filling up briefly here. Just let the ants do their work and stay patient. As long as you opened the bottom and the background earlier the ants will easily find their way to the top. The top white petals will vanish without causing a dead end.

Step 7: Unlock and clear the Hidden Food center

screenshot

By the time you finish the upper petals you will finally strip away the last normal tiles touching the center area. The grey tiles will immediately drop their question marks and reveal their true colors to you. The hidden center turns out to be a mix of dark pink and yellow tiles. You can now safely pull the remaining corresponding blocks from your tray. Because you cleared the entire outer flower the ants will run straight up the middle of the empty screen. They will devour the newly revealed center tiles in seconds. Unlocking the hidden food is the main hurdle of this stage and you just cleared it with empty slots to spare.

Step 8: Mop up the final scattered pixels

You are now in the final stretch of the stage. The board only has a few random tiles left scattered heavily around the outer edges. Your tray will only show small numbers like a black one a pink three a white three and a yellow one. Pull these last few blocks in any order you like. Since the board is almost completely empty the ants will run straight to their final targets without any pathing trouble. Watch as the final white and yellow ants clear the very last pixels from the screen. The level ends as soon as the picture is completely gone and your slots are clear.

Final Thought

You just beat a very crowded and tricky puzzle. Pacing your block pulls and keeping your waiting slots empty is the absolute best way to handle these large pixel art designs. I highly encourage you to watch the video above this article if any step is hard to follow in text.
