Colony Flow Level 512 presents a bright and colorful beach scene for you to dismantle. You have a pixel art man wearing sunglasses standing on the sand with the ocean and sun behind him. I found this level very enjoyable because the open edges give your ants immediate access to several colors right from the start. You just need to keep a steady rhythm to avoid jamming your tray.
Colony Flow Level 512 Overview
What You Are Working With
The picture board shows a clear summer day at the beach. At the bottom you have light yellow food tiles making up the sand. Above that sits the light blue ocean water. The main figure is made of peach colored tiles for his skin along with dark brown tiles for his hair. He wears a pair of black sunglasses right in the middle of his face. You will also notice a white and light blue sky at the top left and an orange sun at the top right. This level features two specific mechanics you must handle. The first is a set of hidden boxes covering the swim trunks and shoes. These tiles show question marks and hide their true color until your ants clear an adjacent tile. The second mechanic involves connected boxes down in your lower tray. You will see colored blocks linked together by a thick connecting line.
What It Takes to Clear Level 512 Board
Your goal is to feed every single pixel art tile to your ant colony. The ants pour out from the nest hole at the bottom and follow the open paths you create. You steer them by pulling numbered color blocks from the lower tray up into the five waiting slots. Each block counts down as an ant grabs a piece of food. The core rule of the game is that you lose if you fill all five waiting slots while no ants have a valid path to matching food tiles. Every move you make must guarantee that at least one block in the waiting area actively sends ants to the board. You win when the entire beach scene disappears and the last ant returns to the nest.
Colony Flow Level 512 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Target the bottom sand and side ocean water first to open wide paths.
The smartest way to open up the board is to target the outer edges that already have clear paths. Start by pulling the light yellow block carrying 25 points. The ants will immediately rush out and start eating the sand tiles at the very bottom of the picture. Next you should bring up the light blue block with 21 points. The ants will march up the sides of the board to reach the ocean water tiles. Doing this establishes strong wide paths along the perimeter. It keeps your first few waiting slots actively draining and prevents any early dead ends. You want to clear as much of the outer border as possible before you start digging into the center of the character.
Step 2: Send out the large peach blocks to clear the legs and arms.
With the sand partially cleared you now have direct access to the bottom of the pixel art man. Pull up one of the peach blocks showing 35 points. The ants will swarm up the empty space where the sand used to be and begin dismantling the legs. You can also pull up the white block with 35 points to get your ants working on the clouds in the sky. Giving the ants two massive tasks at the same time is a great strategy. It keeps a huge number of ants flowing out of the nest and frees up space in your lower tray for new blocks to appear. Just watch the numbers count down and make sure you do not pull another block until one of these large ones finishes.
Step 3: Handle the hidden boxes on the swim trunks and shoes.
As your ants eat away the peach skin on the legs they will touch the edges of the hidden boxes. These tiles initially show question marks across the character waist and feet. Once an adjacent tile vanishes the hidden boxes reveal their true colors. In this level they turn into orange and dark brown tiles. You must wait for this reveal before you pull any orange or dark brown blocks into your waiting slots. If you pull them too early they will sit dead in your tray and waste valuable space. Once the colors appear you can safely bring up the orange block with 22 points. The ants will head straight for the newly revealed spots on the swim trunks and clear them out quickly.
Step 4: Manage the connected dark blue and light blue blocks.
You will soon see a dark blue block showing 25 points linked directly to a light blue block also showing 25 points. Connected boxes move into your waiting slots together. You cannot pull them unless you have room for both. Before you touch them you must verify that the board has open paths for both dark blue and light blue food tiles. Look at the ocean water on the sides and the details on the swim trunks. Since you cleared the outer sand earlier the paths to both areas are wide open. Pull the connected pair up. The ants will divide their attention between the dark blue trunks and the light blue ocean. This simultaneous clearing drops two blocks from your tray very efficiently.
Step 5: Attack the orange sun and the dark brown hair.
Now that the lower half of the board is mostly empty your ants need to travel further up. The top right corner holds the orange sun while the top center holds the dark brown hair. Bring up the orange block with 13 points and the dark brown block with 20 points. Because you previously cleared the side water and the arms your ants have a clear highway right to the top of the board. They will bypass the remaining skin tiles and go straight for the sun and the hair. Keeping these long paths open is how you maintain a steady flow. You never want the ants to bottleneck in the middle of the picture while waiting slots fill up.
Step 6: Clear the black sunglasses carefully to avoid tray jams.
The sunglasses right in the middle of the face require black blocks. You will see several black blocks in your tray including a 10 and a 7 and a 5. The black tiles are surrounded by peach skin tiles. You must ensure the ants have eaten enough of the face to reach the sunglasses easily. Pull the first black block of 10 into a waiting slot. Watch the ants climb up the center and start eating the glasses. Do not pull all the black blocks at once. Feed them into the waiting area one by one as the previous block empties. This cautious approach ensures you always have at least two or three empty slots for emergencies.
Step 7: Empty the final remaining colors to finish the board.
At this stage you only have a few scattered tiles left. You will see a small cluster of light blue sky a few peach tiles for the top of the head and the remaining black tiles for the sunglasses. Your tray will offer small numbered blocks to match. Pull the black block of 5 and the peach block of 5. The ants will easily clean up the last bits of the face. Finally bring up the last light blue block of 6 and the white block of 15. The last few ants will run up to the corners and eat the remaining sky. The board will turn completely empty and you will win the level.
Final Thought
Beating this level is all about pacing yourself and waiting for the hidden boxes to reveal their secrets. You always want to work from the outside edges inward to guarantee your ants have wide open paths. If you find yourself getting stuck or filling your tray too fast you should watch the video above this article. Seeing the exact timing of the connected boxes will help you master the flow and keep your ants moving without interruption.
