Welcome back to another puzzle guide. Today we are tackling Colony Flow Level 344 and it presents a beautiful pixel art picture of a duck swimming in a bright blue pond. You will see rolling hills in the background and a strip of green grass at the bottom of the screen. This level throws some massive tile counts at you right from the start. You must manage your tray carefully to avoid filling your five waiting slots. I will show you exactly how to break down this picture and clear the board smoothly without ever trapping your ants.

Colony Flow Level 344 Overview

What You Are Working With

The board displays a peaceful nature scene composed of hundreds of tiny colored tiles. The colors include light blue for the bright sky and the rippling water. You have white tiles forming the large body of the duck. Green tiles make up the grass along the bottom edge. Purple tiles create the large mountains in the background. Black tiles form heavy outlines around the duck to separate it from the water. Orange tiles make up the beak and the webbed feet. Yellow tiles add details to the tail feathers and the wing tips. The tray at the bottom provides numbered blocks matching all these colors. The numbers on these blocks tell you exactly how many ants will spawn to eat the tiles. The white section and the light blue sections start with massive numbers of tiles. You will notice a giant 150 written across the sky and another 150 written across the duck body. These huge numbers mean you will spend a lot of time waiting for the ants to chew through the large areas.

What It Takes to Clear Level 344 Board

You win the level when your colony of ants eats every single colored tile making up the duck picture and all the ants return safely to the nest hole. The main challenge comes from the five waiting slots located just above your tray. If you pull too many blocks from the tray and fill all five waiting slots without leaving an open path for the ants to reach their matching colors, you lose the level instantly. The board will dead end and the ants will stop moving completely. You must pull blocks in the correct order to carve open paths from the nest hole at the bottom to the target areas scattered across the top and sides. Every single move you make must create space for the next wave of ants. Keep a close eye on the shape of the remaining tiles to ensure you never block a color you need to clear later.

Colony Flow Level 344 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Pull light blue blocks to clear the massive sky section

Start by pulling the large light blue blocks from your tray to address the sky. You will see blocks with numbers like 50 and 45 sitting in the tray ready to go. Tap these light blue blocks and watch the ants stream out of the nest hole. They will bypass the duck entirely and head straight for the massive sky section at the top of the board. This move reduces the huge tile count up top and gives your ants a wide open path around the upper edges of the picture. Do not pull the black or orange blocks yet because those detail tiles remain trapped inside the heavy outlines of the duck body. Keep your waiting slots completely empty by letting the light blue blocks run their full course. The light blue ants will chew through the top rows and slowly work their way down towards the purple mountains. This creates a massive empty pocket of space at the very top of your screen and relieves a lot of the early pressure.

Step 2: Send white ants to clear the main body of the swimming duck

Now that the sky is receding and paths are opening up along the top edge, you can target the massive white section making up the duck body. Pull the high numbered white blocks from your tray into the waiting slots. The white ants will pour out of the hole and carve straight through the center of the board to reach the chest and head of the duck. You can also pull a purple block right now to start working on the large hills in the background. The ant streams will split off into two different directions. The white ants will handle the center duck body while the purple ants will wrap around the upper sides to eat the mountains. This strategy keeps multiple paths open at once and prevents any pulled blocks from jamming your five waiting slots. The giant 150 tile count on the duck will rapidly drop as the white ants do their work.

Step 3: Attack the black outlines to free the trapped orange and yellow details

The duck shape is surrounded by a very thick black outline that prevents your ants from reaching the beak and the feet. Pull the black blocks next to deal with this barrier. You will see several black blocks in the tray with numbers around 54 and 55. Tap them to send the black ants marching along the newly opened spaces. They will eat away the heavy borders around the duck body and the head. Once the black outline breaks apart, the inner orange and yellow tiles finally become exposed to the open board. Managing this black outline early is incredibly crucial. Leaving the black tiles untouched will block your smaller detail colors from finding a valid path. If those detail colors cannot find a path, your waiting slots will jam up and end your game.

Step 4: Pull the yellow and orange blocks to finish the beak and tail feathers

With the thick borders fully broken apart, pull the orange block to clear out the duck beak and the webbed feet. Pull the yellow blocks at the exact same time to clear the tail feathers and the bright wing tips. These are much smaller sections with lower tile counts compared to the sky or the white body. Your five waiting slots might briefly hold a few blocks as the ants navigate around the remaining white tiles but the paths remain wide open the entire time. The yellow and orange ants will quickly reach these bright detail patches and consume them. The middle of the board will now look very empty and you will have complete freedom to move around the remaining pieces of the picture.

Step 5: Send purple ants to eliminate the remaining background mountains

The purple mountains on the far left and right sides of the duck still need some attention before you can finish the level. Pull the remaining purple blocks from the lower tray to send a fresh wave of ants. The purple ants will sweep across the upper sections of the board and eat away the rest of the dark background hills. You can also pull another light blue block here to handle the water tiles filling the space between the duck and the green grass. You will notice numbers like 44 and 34 in your waiting slots as the ants deploy. The board is now extremely open. Your ants can travel anywhere across the screen without getting stuck behind locked shapes or thick borders.

Step 6: Clear the green grass and finish the final scattered water tiles

Only the bottom strip of green grass and a few scattered light blue water tiles remain on the screen at this point. Pull your green blocks and send the green ants down to the bottom edge of the picture. Pull your final light blue blocks to clean up the rest of the pond water. Watch the ants swarm the outer edges and consume the very last colored tiles. Your waiting slots will fill up with these final blocks but you have absolutely nothing to worry about because the paths are perfectly clear. The ants will finish the grass and the water and return to the nest to complete the picture. The board will wipe clean and you will win the level.

Final Thought

This duck picture requires a lot of patience in the early stages while you wait for those massive tile numbers to drop. Just remember to focus on the large background shapes first before you try to pull the smaller detail colors. Carving out the top sky early makes the rest of the puzzle incredibly simple. Watch the video above this article if any step is hard to follow in text. Good luck on your puzzle journey and enjoy watching your ant colony clear the board.
