Colony Flow Level 587 presents a beautiful piece of pixel art but demands careful tray management to beat. You have two flamingos forming a heart shape with their necks in this puzzle. The art is lovely but the massive blocks of color and a locked door on the right make it a serious challenge. You need to keep your ants moving constantly without jamming your limited waiting slots.
Colony Flow Level 587 Overview
What You Are Working With
The board features a bright and colorful scene. Two brown and red flamingos stand facing each other in the center of the picture. Their necks curve toward each other to form a red heart symbol above their heads. A vast bright orange sky fills the entire background behind them. Below their feet sits a layer of light green grass with thin pink legs connecting the birds to the ground. The most obvious obstacle is the large Hungry Door sitting squarely on the bottom right side of the puzzle. This door has a requirement of 10 and covers a significant portion of the right flamingo and the grass beneath it. Your tray at the bottom starts packed with high value orange and light green blocks. You also have pink blocks, dark red blocks, and a specific dark grey block meant for the Hungry Door.
What It Takes to Clear Level 587 Board
Winning this level requires a steady rhythm of clearing the left side of the picture to create a wide path before tackling the right side. You must chew through the left flamingo and the left side grass completely to open the board. The huge orange sky acts as a pressure release valve for your colony. Whenever you need to buy time or keep ants busy, you can pull an orange block to clear sky tiles. The core objective is opening the Hungry Door at the right time. If you fill your five waiting slots with blocks you cannot reach because the door is still closed, you will fail the level. You must feed the door exactly when the path to it becomes completely available.
Colony Flow Level 587 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Clear the left side grass and start the left flamingo body
You begin by pulling the light green block and the dark brown block into your waiting slots. The ants stream out of the nest hole at the bottom center of the screen and immediately head left. They start eating the light green grass tiles and the massive dark brown body of the left flamingo. The flamingo body has a very high number count so it will take plenty of time for the ants to break it all down. Pulling an orange block early is a great move here. As the left side grass disappears, the ants gain access to the bottom left corner of the orange sky. Having an orange block active ensures that no ants stand around doing nothing. This steady flow keeps your slots cycling and prevents the board from dead ending right at the start.
Step 2: Eat through the orange sky on the left side
As the dark brown flamingo body shrinks, the ants naturally push upward and outward into the orange background. You will see the left side of the picture start to vanish completely. Keep feeding orange blocks from the tray into your waiting slots. The orange blocks carry large numbers like 55 and 50. This means a single orange block will keep your colony occupied for a very long time. While they chew on the sky, you can safely pull another light green block to finish off the remaining accessible grass on the left. Always make sure you have at least one active color on the board. Do not pull pink or dark red yet because the right side of the board remains blocked by the Hungry Door.
Step 3: Remove the flamingo beaks to open the center path
The ants will eventually reach the heads of the flamingos near the top middle of the picture. Here you find white and grey tiles making up the beaks. Pull the white block with the number 6 from your tray into an empty slot. This is a quick block to clear but it serves a massive purpose for your pathing. The beaks create a visual and physical barrier between the two birds. By clearing the white tiles, you open a clear route directly into the red heart shape floating between the flamingos. Clearing the center also gives your ants a shorter travel distance to the upper orange sky tiles. You want the ants spending less time walking and more time eating.
Step 4: Feed the Hungry Door to unlock the right side of the board
With the left side mostly clear and the center path open, it is time to deal with the major obstacle. Look at your tray and find the dark block with the number 10 on it. Pull this dark block into an empty waiting slot. The ants will march directly to the large Hungry Door on the bottom right and feed it. Once the ants satisfy the requirement of 10, the Hungry Door pops open and vanishes from the board entirely. This action is the turning point of the level. The door reveals the remaining light green grass tiles and the entire bottom half of the right flamingo. If you pulled this dark block too early, it would have sat uselessly in your tray and taken up a valuable slot. Pulling it now keeps your flow perfect and your colony moving.
Step 5: Clear the pink legs and the right flamingo body
Now that the Hungry Door is gone, your ants have full access to the entire right side of the picture. Pull the pink block to let the ants eat the thin pink legs standing in the grass. At the same time, pull the dark red and brown blocks to start breaking down the right flamingo body. The colony will split up into two distinct groups. Some ants will finish the legs while others swarm the large bird body. Keep a close eye on your waiting slots during this busy phase. You will pull several blocks with numbers in the twenties and thirties. The ants will process these relatively quickly because they have wide open paths from the center and the bottom. Keep pulling orange blocks to maintain steady pressure on the background sky while the birds disappear.
Step 6: Swarm the remaining orange background to finish the level
The final phase of the level is a massive cleanup operation. The flamingos are entirely gone and the grass is completely eaten. All that remains is the huge section of orange sky covering the top right corner and the top edge of the board. Your tray will be full of orange blocks with high numbers like 52 and 45. Pull every remaining orange block into your slots. The entire colony will surge upward and form a massive wave across the top of the board. Because there are no more obstacles or different colors to manage, you can just sit back and watch the ants do their job. They will consume the last orange tile, the board will clear completely, and you will win the level with ease.
Final Thought
Patience is your best tool for getting past this puzzle. Managing the massive orange background while perfectly timing the Hungry Door opening is the true trick to winning. Keeping your waiting slots clear requires you to constantly read the pathing of your ants. If you ever feel stuck on the timing of pulling blocks or how the ants choose their paths, you should watch the video above this article. Seeing the level cleared in motion makes the sequence of moves incredibly easy to replicate on your own device.
