Colony Flow Level 870 throws a massive challenge at you immediately. You see a beautiful pixel art picture of a girl with a crescent moon and a starry night sky. The real trick comes from two large Hungry Doors sitting at the bottom of the picture. You have to feed them hundreds of purple ants while carefully picking apart the yellow moon and the character in the center. I played this level from start to finish and figured out the exact order to pull blocks from the tray. You need to keep the paths open so your waiting slots never jam and ruin your run.
Colony Flow Level 870 Overview
What You Are Working With
The board features a large portrait with a thick purple border. Inside that border you find a starry dark purple background and a bright yellow and orange crescent moon. The center holds a girl wearing a white and blue sailor outfit with red boots and blonde hair. The pixel art is dense and overlapping. The yellow moon wraps around the right side while the girl takes up the middle. This overlapping design forces you to clear specific colors before others. At the very bottom edge of the picture sit two Hungry Doors disguised as wooden chests. The left Hungry Door demands a staggering 400 purple ants before it opens. The right Hungry Door requires 250 purple ants. Your tray at the bottom gives you a constant feed of numbered colored blocks. You get a mix of dark purple, light purple, yellow, orange, white, and blue blocks to match the different sections of the picture.
What It Takes to Clear Level 870 Board
Clearing this board means you must balance two completely different tasks at the exact same time. You have to constantly feed purple ants into the Hungry Doors to chip away at those massive 400 and 250 requirements. While you do that you must also pull yellow orange and white blocks to clear the moon and the girl. You have to watch the countdown numbers on the blocks and compare them to the remaining tiles. A large block needs a large section of tiles or an open door to absorb the ants. If you pull a block color that has no open path to its matching tiles it will sit in one of your five waiting slots. If all five slots fill up with trapped blocks you lose the level instantly. You win the game when both Hungry Doors open completely and the ants eat every single pixel art tile on the screen.
Colony Flow Level 870 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Start feeding the right Hungry Door and chip away at the moon
You begin with a full board and a full tray of blocks. Look for the yellow and light orange blocks first to open some working space. Tap the yellow 60 block and the light orange 31 block from the tray. The ants stream out of the nest and travel up the right side to eat the outer edge of the crescent moon. Next you need to start working on the Hungry Doors immediately. Pull the purple 70 block and the purple 40 block. These purple ants march straight to the two doors. The right door number drops down to 140 very quickly. By mixing your moves between the yellow moon tiles and the purple Hungry Doors you keep the main paths clear. This ensures your waiting slots stay empty and ready for the next round of blocks.
Step 2: Focus on the starry background and keep feeding the left door
The left Hungry Door still has a massive requirement left on it. You need to send as many purple ants that way as possible to prevent falling behind. Tap the purple 60 block and the dark purple 45 block to keep the pressure on. The ants split their attention between the Hungry Doors and the solid purple background tiles surrounding the moon. You will also see a yellow 56 block in your tray. Tap that block to continue eating away at the thickest part of the yellow moon. The left door requirement drops from 400 down to roughly 272 during this phase. Always make sure the ants have an open lane to the background before you pull a new purple block.
Step 3: Attack the white and dark purple sections in the center
Now the board starts to open up near the middle. You can reach the character tiles much more easily. Pull the white 62 block to send a swarm of ants up the middle path. They will eat the white shirt tiles on the girl. Immediately follow up by pulling the dark purple 54 block. The dark purple ants will chew through the dark shadow portions of the background. They also continue to drop the numbers on the left Hungry Door. Maintaining a steady flow of different colors keeps your tray moving. You never want to pull too many purple blocks in a row if the path to the door gets crowded. Let the white ants do their job first to carve out extra walking room.
Step 4: Clear the blue skirt and drop the door numbers under one hundred
You are making great progress on the Hungry Doors right now. The left door sits at 205 and the right door is down to 95. The tray gives you a light blue 13 block and a dark purple 15 block. Tap the light blue block to send a small group of ants to eat the blue skirt tiles in the exact center of the board. Tap the dark purple block to keep pushing the left door number down. You will also see pink and red blocks appearing in the tray. Pull them carefully and only when you see a clear line to the red boots or the pink hair accessories. The board feels much less crowded now. This allows your ants to travel much faster from the nest hole to their targets.
Step 5: Push the Hungry Doors to the breaking point and clear the boots
The Hungry Doors are nearly finished. The left door number falls to 43 and the right door number falls to 55. You need just a few more purple blocks to break them open completely. Tap the light purple 25 block and the dark purple 9 block. Watch the ants march up and slam into the doors. At the same time grab the red 14 block from the tray. The red ants will rush up and eat the red boot tiles right above the left door. Doing this removes the final obstacles in the lower half of the picture. The doors are about to vanish and open up the entire bottom section of the board for free movement.
Step 6: Break the doors and clear the scattered character tiles
The final purple ants hit the chests and both Hungry Doors disappear from the board entirely. This removes the largest roadblocks. Now you just have a scattered collection of random tiles floating in the center. You will see blocks with very low numbers in your tray like a skin tone 3 block and a white 6 block and a blue 6 block. Tap these very carefully. The targets are tiny and isolated. Send the skin tone ants to finish the face and hands. Send the blue ants to eat the final pieces of the skirt. Tap the yellow 18 block to clean up the last few stars and blonde hair tiles. You must pay close attention to your five waiting slots right now. One wrong pull will trap a block because the paths to these small tiles are very narrow.
Step 7: Sweep the massive purple border to finish the board
The center of the board is completely empty now. The only tiles remaining are the thick light purple and dark purple border pieces forming a giant square around the empty space. Your tray will flood with large purple blocks to match. Tap the dark purple 59 block and the light purple 48 block and the light purple 61 block in rapid succession. The ants will pour out of the nest and split in every direction. They will march all the way around the massive empty space and eat the border from the inside out. Since the whole middle is open they have plenty of room to travel without blocking each other. Let the ants finish eating the final corner tiles to clear the picture completely.
Final Thought
Level 870 tests your patience and your ability to juggle massive block requirements. Those two Hungry Doors demand constant attention while you pick apart the delicate details of the picture. Keeping the board balanced is the only way to survive without jamming your waiting slots. If you struggle to find the right rhythm or keep getting stuck on the small center tiles please watch the video above this article. Seeing the exact timing of the block pulls will help you master the flow and secure the win.
