Welcome to Colony Flow Level 601. This puzzle features a very cute pixel art cat sitting on a yellow and dark blue base against a bright light blue background. You have to feed your ant colony strategically to dissolve this picture without jamming your tray. I played through this level multiple times to find the most reliable way to keep the ants moving from the bottom base all the way to the top border. If you take your time and watch the paths open up, you will have no trouble guiding the ants to victory.
Colony Flow Level 601 Overview
What You Are Working With
The board starts with a large white cat head and body right in the center of your screen. The cat has small peach colored ears and dark blue eyes. It sits on a ground made of a thick yellow stripe over a dark blue stripe. A massive light blue border frames the entire scene and touches the edges of the board. The tray at the bottom holds a mix of single number blocks and connected blocks that link two colors together. You will also see hidden boxes marked with question marks in the tray. These hidden boxes keep their color a secret until you use the blocks resting above them.
What It Takes to Clear Level 601 Board
You have exactly five empty waiting slots at the bottom of the screen to hold your active blocks. If you fill all five slots with colors the ants cannot currently reach, the board jams and you lose the level instantly. The entire winning strategy revolves around careful pathing. You must carve a central tunnel through the white body of the cat to reach the peach ears and the light blue background. Every time you pull a block from the tray, you must guarantee the ants have a clear open line of sight to that exact color on the board.
Colony Flow Level 601 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Clear the initial white and dark blue blocks to open the central path.
The bottom of the cat is fully exposed to the nest hole at the start of the level. Pull a white block and a dark blue block from the top row of the tray into your empty waiting slots. The ants will immediately stream out of the hole and attack the bottom center of the picture. They eat away the white paws and the dark blue ground stripe. You will see the numbers on your blocks rapidly count down from 35 and 28 as the ants carry the food away. Always wait for these initial blocks to reach zero and disappear before you flood the slots with more colors.
Step 2: Bring up the yellow blocks to clear the ground and reveal the hidden boxes.
Now that the dark blue stripe is broken open, the yellow ground tiles become fully accessible to the colony. Pull a yellow block up into a waiting slot. The ants will march left and right along the bottom edge to consume the yellow tiles. Doing this action helps clear the top layer of your tray completely. Once those top blocks vanish, the hidden boxes at the bottom of the tray flip over and reveal their true colors. You need these newly revealed blocks to progress deeper into the middle of the cat.
Step 3: Manage the connected light blue and yellow blocks carefully.
The tray will now offer sets of connected blocks linking light blue and yellow together. You must make sure the ants can reach both colors before you pull the chain into your slots. Wait until the ants eat enough of the white body to expose the lower inside edges of the light blue background. Once you visually confirm the path is clear, pull the connected set up. The ants will first drain the yellow block to zero. The second the yellow block vanishes, the ants will immediately start working on the light blue block. This keeps your waiting slots moving smoothly without any dead ends.
Step 4: Flood the board with white blocks to hollow out the large cat head.
The cat has a massive white head that blocks the entire top half of the board. You will see several high number white blocks in your tray such as 24 and 40. Pull these white blocks into your slots one at a time as space allows. The colony will swarm the center of the board and hollow out the face very quickly. This massive feeding frenzy removes the largest physical obstacle on the board. More importantly, it exposes the dark blue eyes and the peach ears for your next moves.
Step 5: Send peach and dark blue blocks to clear the ears and the eyes.
With the white face mostly gone, the peach ears are completely vulnerable at the top of the picture. The tray now offers small peach blocks to match. Pull a peach block up so the ants can climb all the way up to the ears. At the exact same time, pull a dark blue block to clear out the eyes. You want to time this so the ants are working on the top interior section of the cat simultaneously. This dual assault clears the remaining interior of the picture and leaves only the massive outer border.
Step 6: Pull the long connected chains of dark blue and light blue blocks.
Your tray will present a long connected chain featuring a dark blue block attached to a high number light blue block. You already have an open path to the remaining dark blue tiles and the massive light blue border. Pull this entire chain into the waiting slots with confidence. The ants will finish off the last few dark blue tiles in seconds. After that, they will split outward and march toward the left and right sides of the light blue frame to begin eating the perimeter.
Step 7: Unleash the ants on the massive light blue background frame.
The entire outer edge of the picture is light blue and requires a lot of ants to clear. You will have multiple large light blue blocks in your tray holding 35 and 40 units of food. Pull them into the slots. The ants will travel all the way up the left and right sides of the board and begin eating the top border. This phase takes a little time because the travel distance from the hole to the top edge is very long. Just watch the numbers tick down and wait patiently. Keep a slot open just in case the flow slows down.
Step 8: Clean up the final scattered pieces to finish the board.
The board is almost entirely empty now. You only have a few scattered white tiles at the very top and some isolated yellow tiles near the bottom corners. Your tray will have the exact blocks needed to finish the job. Pull the final connected white blocks and the remaining yellow blocks into your slots. The ants will spread out to clean up these last remaining fragments. Once the final tile disappears into the nest, the board clears completely and you win the level.
Final Thought
Keeping your tray slots open is the only real challenge in this puzzle. By breaking into the bottom of the cat and carving a path straight up the middle, you guarantee that every color always has an open route. I highly encourage you to watch the video above this article if any step feels hard to picture in text. Seeing the ants flow in real time makes the whole strategy click together perfectly.
