Welcome to Colony Flow Level 439. You face a large pixel art picture of a hot bowl of soup with a spoon resting inside. A bright green background frames the entire bowl and creates a solid wall of tiles at the top of the board. The board starts completely full and requires careful block management to avoid filling your five waiting slots. I played through this puzzle to find the exact sequence to keep the ants moving and the board entirely open.

What You Are Working With

The picture on this level is quite detailed and dense. You have a large white bowl at the bottom of the screen. A dark purple zigzag pattern runs horizontally across the white bowl. Black tiles outline the entire bowl shape and separate the different color sections. Inside the bowl you see bright orange soup with a light yellow swirl in the very center. A brown spoon sits in the soup with a red tip on the handle pointing toward the top right corner. A massive block of green tiles surrounds the top and sides of the bowl to form the background. Your tray at the bottom holds blocks in all these matching colors. You also have a couple of special tiles to manage in your tray pool. You will see a grey hidden box with a question mark on it. This box hides its true color until it has a valid path to move. You will also see a yellow block with a padlock symbol indicating the lock and key mechanic. You need to collect keys on the board before that block becomes available to pull.

What It Takes to Clear Level 439 Board

Winning this level requires clearing every single food tile from the board. You do this by pulling numbered blocks from the tray into your five waiting slots. Ants stream out of the nest hole at the bottom of the screen and eat the tiles that match the color of the blocks in your slots. Each block holds a specific number. That number counts down by one for every tile an ant eats. The core rule of the game is that you lose if you fill all five waiting slots and no ants can reach their matching tiles. Every move you make must keep at least one open path so the numbers keep dropping and the blocks clear out of the slots. You must never create a dead end.

Colony Flow Level 439 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Open the bottom corners and the base of the white bowl

You start the level by targeting the tiles closest to the ant hole. Pull a white block and a green block into your waiting slots. The white food tiles form the very bottom edge of the soup bowl right above the nest. The white ants stream out and immediately begin eating the white bowl base. You also pull a green block because the green tiles form the lower left corner of the background. The green ants find a clear open path to these lower corner tiles. Pulling these two colors first keeps the ants active right from the start. The numbers on the white and green blocks drain fast enough to prevent a jam in your waiting area. You keep your slots open for the next wave of colors.

Step 2: Introduce purple and orange to access the bowl details

With the bottom edge of the bowl slowly vanishing you can start working on the inner details. The white bowl has a dark purple zigzag pattern running right across its middle. As the white ants clear the bottom sections they expose this purple pattern. You pull the purple block into a waiting slot. The purple ants march up the freshly cleared paths and begin eating the zigzag tiles. You also pull an orange block at this time. The orange ants navigate up the sides of the bowl to reach the orange soup resting inside. The white ants continue clearing the main bowl structure alongside the purple and orange ants. This combination of colors works together to carve out the entire lower half of the picture.

Step 3: Deploy the black ants to break down the heavy outlines

screenshot

Every major object in this soup picture features a thick black outline. You need to break these outlines to give your ants access to the higher sections of the board. Pull a black block from the tray into a waiting slot. The black ants stream up the left side of the bowl. They eat the black tiles that hold the green background apart from the white bowl. Keeping the black outline eroding is highly beneficial because it frees up the inner soup and creates a much wider path for other ants to travel. You watch the number on the black block drop steadily as the ants chew through the borders. Your waiting slots remain perfectly safe because the black ants never run out of targets.

Step 4: Manage the hidden box and send brown ants to the spoon

screenshot

Your tray reveals a grey hidden box with a question mark. You leave it alone until it reveals its true color. You do not want to pull a hidden box and risk clogging a slot with a color that has no open path. Instead you pull a brown block. The brown ants run up the right side of the bowl to reach the brown spoon. The spoon rests deep inside the soup and blocks access to several orange tiles. Clearing the brown spoon is absolutely necessary to free the right side of the soup bowl. The brown ants steadily eat their way up the spoon handle. This opens the right side of the picture and creates plenty of room for future ant swarms.

Step 5: Release the lock and deploy yellow ants for the soup swirl

screenshot

You have a yellow block in the tray marked with a padlock symbol. The ants on the board manage to eat the key tiles hidden in the lower soup to unlock it. Once the yellow block unlocks you pull it directly into an empty waiting slot. Yellow ants rush to the center of the soup to eat the light yellow swirl. They clear out the very middle of the bowl in a matter of seconds. The orange ants are already clearing the bulk of the surrounding orange soup. Balancing the orange blocks and the yellow blocks clears the center mass quickly and efficiently. You now have a giant empty space right in the middle of the board.

Step 6: Clear the remaining white bowl and purple pattern tiles

screenshot

The left side of the bowl is mostly gone but the right side still holds several tiles. You pull another white block and another purple block from the tray pool. The white ants travel up the right side and finish the upper right edge of the bowl. The purple ants follow close behind and finish the remaining right side of the zigzag pattern. Your waiting slots stay totally clear because the ants have a direct open path to their targets through the empty center. The bottom half of the screen is now completely empty. The ants have a massive highway to reach the top sections of the puzzle.

Step 7: Send a massive wave of green ants to the top background

screenshot

The entire top half of the screen consists of green background tiles. You pull a large green block from the tray to tackle this massive area. The green ants travel straight up the empty space where the bowl and soup used to be. They spread out along the top edge of the board and begin eating the huge green section. The number on the green block counts down rapidly as dozens of ants hit the tiles at the same time. You keep pulling green blocks as they appear in the tray to keep the pressure on the top background. The green ants clear the top left corner and move toward the top right.

Step 8: Send red ants to clean up the spoon handle tip

A few small red tiles remain at the very tip of the spoon handle in the upper right corner. You pull a red block into a waiting slot. The red ants travel all the way up through the empty board to the top right corner. They target the red tiles and eat the final pieces of the spoon. This clears the final obstacle on the right side of the board and allows the green ants to finish the upper right background without any interference. The red block empties out of your waiting slot quickly and leaves you with plenty of room for the final moves.

Step 9: Empty the final tray blocks to finish the puzzle

You only have a few remaining blocks left in the tray pool. You pull the last orange block and the last black block into your waiting slots. The orange ants eat the final few drops of soup on the right side. The black ants clear the last remaining bits of the top outline. You then pull the final green block. The green ants swarm and consume the last few green tiles at the very top edge of the screen. The board is now completely clean and you win the level.

Final Thought

This level tests your ability to balance the inner bowl details with the heavy green background. By opening the bottom early and saving the massive green sections for the end you keep your slots clear and the ants moving. Check out the video above this article if any step is hard to follow in text. Watching the ants clear the paths in real time makes the strategy completely clear.
