Welcome to Colony Flow Level 509 where you face a massive lighthouse scene built over a treacherous ocean cliff. This board demands careful tray management from the very first move because a central Hungry Door blocks a huge section of the sky. You need to keep your ants moving constantly to chip away at that massive door counter without filling your five waiting slots. I play every single level to figure out the best routing so you can clear the board without getting stuck.
Colony Flow Level 509 Overview
What You Are Working With
The pixel art on this level shows a tall red and white lighthouse perched on dark purple rocks with a blue ocean wrapping around the base. A gigantic Hungry Door sits right in the middle of the sky with a starting count of 188. This door completely blocks your access to the upper sky tiles and will only open once you clear enough surrounding tiles to drop its counter to exactly zero. Your block tray provides a wide mix of green grass blocks, dark purple rock blocks, light blue sky blocks, and red lighthouse blocks. You will also find several sets of connected blocks throughout the tray sequence linking different colors together. You must pull these connected blocks carefully to avoid jamming your tray. The path layout forces you to work from the bottom up.
What It Takes to Clear Level 509 Board
You win this level by carefully dismantling the lighthouse and the cliffs from the bottom up to feed the central Hungry Door. As you match your tray blocks to the grass and rock tiles the ants will swarm the lower paths and steadily chip away at the door count. You must balance the tray constantly so you do not pull too many sky colors before the lower rocks are completely gone. Keeping a valid path open ensures the ants never stop moving and your five waiting slots remain clear. If you pull the wrong colors and fill those five slots the board will dead end and you will fail the level. The level ends successfully when the door finally breaks and your ants consume the last remaining white and light blue sky tiles at the top of the board.
Colony Flow Level 509 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Focus on the lower grass and cliff base first to open the bottom paths.
Start your sequence by analyzing the bottom left corner where you need to clear the green grass and the orange rock foundation first. Pull the green block with a value of 37 and the orange block with a value of 13. The ants will immediately rush the green grass and orange cliff base on the left side of the board. You will notice a red block valued at 38 connected directly to an orange block valued at 15 in the tray. Pulling this connected pair is your next move. The orange block will finish off the lower cliff details while the red block will start working on the thick bottom stripe of the lighthouse. Bring up the dark purple block valued at 25 to attack the large rock foundation under the building. The ants will split their focus perfectly between the red lighthouse base and the dark purple rocks. The massive Hungry Door counter in the middle of the sky will begin to drop from 188 as these lower tiles disappear. Watch your five waiting slots very closely during this opening phase. Do not pull the light blue or white blocks into your tray yet because the sky paths remain totally blocked by the rocks and the door. Keep your active slots focused entirely on dark purple, orange, and green to keep the lower paths flowing smoothly.
Step 2: Clear the ocean water to open the middle paths around the cliffs.
Once the green grass disappears you must transition your focus to the blue water section. The water tiles wrap around the right side of the dark purple rocks and sit directly beneath the Hungry Door. Pull the dark blue block valued at 4 and the light blue block valued at 1 to send your colony into the ocean section. Your ants will aggressively eat these water tiles and drive the door counter down significantly. Bring up another dark purple block to maintain pressure on the left cliff base. You also need to pull another red block and a white block to chew through the lighthouse tower on the left side. The lighthouse design alternates between thick red and white stripes. You must time your block pulls to match the exact stripe the ants are currently touching. If you pull a white block while a red stripe blocks the path, your waiting slots will quickly fill up and jam. Keep feeding the dark blue and light blue blocks until the entire lower ocean clears out. Clearing the water opens a massive path up the right side of the board giving your ants direct access to the dark purple rocks on the right cliff.
Step 3: Dismantle the right cliff and the lighthouse tower to surround the door.
Now you must clear the dark purple rocks on the bottom right side to open the right side sky paths. Pull the dark purple blocks to send your ants swarming over the remaining cliff. Bring up a yellow block valued at 5 to handle the small sun detail hovering near the middle of the lighthouse. You will encounter another set of connected blocks featuring a white block valued at 35 and a dark purple block valued at 24. Pulling this pair works perfectly at this stage. The white block will eat the lighthouse stripes while the dark purple block finishes the right cliff edge. You need to keep the red and white blocks rotating into your tray constantly to keep the lighthouse shrinking. The Hungry Door counter will drop below 90 as the tower disappears. Keep a close eye on the light blue sky tiles starting to open up on the left side of the lighthouse. Pull a light blue block valued at 32 to start clearing the left sky but do not overwhelm your tray. You still need plenty of room to process the final dark purple rocks and the top red lighthouse stripes. Maintaining this tray balance ensures your waiting slots stay clear and the ants never hit a dead end.
Step 4: Surround the Hungry Door and break its counter down to zero.
With the lower cliffs totally gone and the lighthouse mostly destroyed you can finally focus your full attention on the sky. The Hungry Door counter is getting very low now and sits near 16. Pull the white blocks valued at 31 and the light blue blocks valued at 2 to flood the sky with ants. There are several connected blocks remaining in the tray featuring dark purple links. Pull them to clean up the very last rock tiles on the right edge and open up the remaining sky borders. Your ants will wrap completely around the massive Hungry Door structure. Feed them a steady supply of white and light blue blocks to eat the scattered clouds and the main sky background. The door counter will plunge quickly down to zero. You must ensure you always have a light blue block active in your tray because that specific color makes up the vast majority of the remaining board. If you fill your slots with white blocks when only light blue tiles are reachable you will cause a fatal jam and lose the level. Keep the tile flow steady and watch the central door shatter.
Step 5: Clean up the final sky tiles after the door opens to win the level.
The Hungry Door finally breaks and reveals the final hidden section of light blue and white tiles in the top center of the board. Your tray will now consist almost entirely of light blue blocks, white blocks, and a few stray dark blue blocks. Pull the dark blue block valued at 1 to clear the remaining ocean tiles hiding on the far right edge. Then pull the white block valued at 7 and the light blue blocks valued at 12 and 15 to finish the cloud details. The ants will stream across the wide open board to consume the top right corner. Make sure you match the exact number needed for the white tiles before pulling the final light blue blocks. Always check the remaining tile count against your block values. Keep pulling the light blue blocks into your active slots until the tray is completely empty. The colony will eat the final pixel art sky tiles and you will successfully beat the level.
Final Thought
Clearing this board requires patience and excellent tray management to break that massive central door. Keep your ants focused on the lower sections first and never let your waiting slots fill up with unusable colors. You have to respect the exact sequence of the red and white lighthouse stripes. If you find any of these moves hard to visualize please watch the video above this article to see exactly how I route the ants and manage the connected blocks safely.
