Welcome to Colony Flow Level 1144. This level presents a beautiful pixel art picture of a sunny tropical island. You take control of a busy ant colony to clear out a sprawling beach scene complete with towering palm trees and bright blue ocean water. Managing your limited tray space is the real puzzle here. I will walk you through exactly how I beat this stage so you can do the same.

Colony Flow Level 1144 Overview

What You Are Working With

The picture presents a vibrant tropical beach scene taking up most of the top screen. You will see tall green palm trees on the left and right sides flanking the center. A bright light blue sky sits at the top with a few fluffy white clouds scattered around. The bottom edge features yellow and orange sand framing the blue ocean water in the middle.

Down in your tray you have a huge pile of numbered colored blocks. You have light blue and regular blue blocks for the sky and the water. You have standard green and dark green blocks for the massive palm fronds. You also have dark red for the tree trunks and yellow and orange for the sandy beach.

The biggest challenge here comes from the connected boxes mechanic. Many blocks in your tray have a thick gray line linking them together. When you tap one connected box it automatically pulls every linked box up into your five waiting slots all at once. If you pull a connected group that is too large you will instantly fill all five slots. If none of those queued colors can reach their matching food tiles on the board you will lose the game immediately. You always need to plan one move ahead to avoid a dead end.

What It Takes to Clear Level 1144 Board

Clearing this board requires strict attention to the open paths and the order of operations. You must start from the outer edges of the picture because the ants spawn at the very bottom center and need a clear path to walk around the solid central block of colors.

You will begin by clearing the sky and the sand at the same exact time. Once the top and bottom borders disappear the ants can walk further inward to reach the white clouds and the tree trunks. The palm leaves take the longest time to clear because they hold a massive volume of tiles requiring high numbered blocks. You have to feed green blocks continuously into the waiting slots while making sure a path stays open for other colors. You complete the level when the central water vanishes and the final group of ants returns to the nest.

Colony Flow Level 1144 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Open the top edge of the board by clearing the blue sky first

Your very first move must target the accessible blue and light blue tiles at the top of the picture. Tap the first connected group of blue and green blocks in your tray. The green block will sit idle in the waiting slot because the palm trees are completely blocked by the water and sand at the bottom of the picture. However the blue block will immediately activate. The blue ants will stream out of the nest hole and march all the way up the far left and right sides of the picture. The ants will begin eating away the blue sky from the top corners inward. This creates a safe active drain for your waiting slots. Keep pulling light blue blocks as they become available on the top layer of the tray. The sky will slowly recede downward and give your ants a much wider path to travel across the top edge of the board.

Step 2: Clear the yellow and orange sand at the bottom of the screen

While the blue ants are busy working at the top of the board you need to address the bottom edge to free up more space. Tap the yellow block and the orange block located near the top of your tray stack. These sandy tiles sit right above the ant nest hole making them the closest target on the board. The yellow and orange ants will pour out and instantly start consuming the sand. Clearing the sand is an absolutely critical move for your overall success. The sand acts as a thick barrier protecting the lower palm tree trunks and the central ocean water. By removing the yellow and orange tiles you open up brand new avenues for different ant colors to enter the main picture. Watch your five waiting slots very closely here. You might have a stray green or dark red block stuck in a slot from a previous connected group pull. Always ensure at least one active color is working on the sand or the sky so your waiting slots never jam up completely.

Step 3: Send the white ants to clear out the fluffy clouds

You will eventually notice a white block connected to an orange block sitting in your tray. Tap this connected group once the path to the top right corner is clear of blue sky tiles. The white tiles make up the small fluffy clouds scattered across the top right section of the sky. The white ants will travel up the right side border and begin breaking down those cloud tiles one by one. At the exact same time the orange block from that connected group will send more ants to finish up the last remaining sand tiles at the bottom left corner. This dual action is a perfect way to keep your waiting slots flowing freely. The white block number will count down rapidly as the clouds disappear. Once the white block reaches zero it will vanish from the waiting slot entirely. This creates an empty space and gives you more room to queue up the next required colors from the tray.

Step 4: Break down the dark red tree trunks on both sides

screenshot

With the outer sand completely out of the way the dark red tree trunks become fully exposed to your ant colony. Bring up the dark red blocks from your lower tray. These dark red blocks are often paired with large green blocks through the connected box mechanic. Tapping them will pull both the red and the green blocks into your waiting slots simultaneously. The dark red ants will march straight to the lower left and lower right sides to start eating the tree trunks. Since the trunks form a narrow vertical pillar on each side they take a little extra time to clear completely. Allow the dark red ants to do their work at their own pace. Do not panic if your waiting slots fill up with green blocks during this time. The green blocks are next in line and will activate very soon. Just make sure the red ants have an unobstructed path to the trunks so the board keeps moving.

Step 5: Unleash the green ants onto the massive palm tree leaves

screenshot

The palm tree leaves make up the largest total surface area of this entire pixel art picture. Once the dark red trunks are mostly gone and the upper sky is completely clear the green tiles become fully accessible from multiple different angles. Start tapping every green and dark green block you can safely fit into your slots. You will see a massive swarm of green ants flood out of the nest hole and surge up the board. They will naturally split into two massive groups heading left and right to tackle both trees at once. The green numbers on your waiting slot blocks will drain incredibly fast. The green blocks in your tray have very high numbers like thirty and forty to match the sheer volume of leaves. You will need to cycle through several of these large green blocks to get the job done. Keep feeding them into the waiting slots as soon as an empty space opens up. The thick canopy of the palm trees will shrink steadily from the top down and from the outside in.

Step 6: Clear the central water and finish the remaining scattered leaves

The final phase of the level focuses entirely on the central pool of light blue and dark blue water. The water tiles were heavily protected by the sand and the trees earlier in the game. Now they sit completely out in the open. Tap the remaining light blue blocks in your lower tray. The light blue ants will stream directly into the center of the board and rapidly consume the remaining water tiles. You might still have a few stray green tiles lingering on the extreme outer edges of the palm fronds. Make sure you pull the final small numbered green blocks to clean up those stragglers while the water drains. The light blue blocks will handle the vast bulk of the remaining work. Keep a close eye on the tray to ensure you pull the exact colors needed for the final few scattered pixels. When the last light blue tile vanishes from the screen the remaining blocks will clear out and you will win the level.

Final Thought

Beating this level requires careful management of the connected blocks and a steady rhythm of clearing the outer edges before moving inward. Take your time and plan exactly which connected groups you pull so you never accidentally lock yourself out of a valid move. Keeping the traffic flowing is the only way to survive the massive amount of palm tree tiles.
