Welcome to Colony Flow Level 381. You are looking at a massive pixel art puzzle featuring a green crocodile wearing a white chef hat and apron. The board has a ton of tiles and a tricky blocking element in the top corner. You have to feed your ant colony the right colors in the exact right order to clear the food blocks. I played this level several times to figure out the best sequence of moves. The main challenge comes from the sheer size of the background blocks and the constant risk of filling your waiting slots with the wrong colors.
Colony Flow Level 381 Overview
What You Are Working With
The picture on this board is large and incredibly dense. You have a solid orange background wrapping all the way around the main character. The character itself is a green crocodile with a thick black outline. The crocodile is wearing a bright white apron and a tall white chef hat. You will also see a few smaller detail tiles making up the light pink claws and cheek accents. Up in the top left corner sits a large brown Hungry Door. This door covers a whole section of the picture and blocks the orange food underneath. You must clear all required colors to open the door and access the final tiles. Your tray holds multiple large number blocks. You will see orange blocks with high numbers like sixty and seventy five. You will also see large green and white blocks to handle the massive body and the hat.
What It Takes to Clear Level 381 Board
To beat this level you must clear every single tile from the picture including the ones trapped under the Hungry Door. Your ants will crawl out of the hole at the bottom and follow the open paths to eat the food. You control them by pulling numbered colored blocks from the tray into your five waiting slots. This brings up the most critical rule of the game. If you pull a block into a waiting slot and the ants cannot find an open path to that specific color the block will sit there and wait. If you fill all five waiting slots with blocked colors your ants will stop moving and you will lose the level instantly. Every move you make must guarantee an open path. You have to balance the massive orange background blocks with the interior green and white blocks so the ants never hit a dead end.
Colony Flow Level 381 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Open the bottom paths by pulling white and orange blocks from the tray
Begin the level by pulling the white thirty five block and the orange sixty block into your waiting slots. You will see the white ants rush straight up the center path to start eating the bottom edge of the white apron. The orange ants will split up and march along the bottom border of the picture. You should also pull the black thirty block into a waiting slot right behind them. The black ants will follow the initial paths and latch onto the black outline bordering the bottom of the crocodile feet. This opening combination is extremely safe. You have three different colors working on three different sections of the bottom edge. Your waiting slots will continuously empty out as the ants find immediate paths to their target tiles. You never want to pull two giant blocks of the same color right at the start. If you pulled two huge orange blocks the second one would just clog your waiting slots while the first group of ants slowly ate the bottom border.
Step 2: Chip away the lower black outline to open the green body tiles
With the bottom edge clearing out you will notice the black outline blocking access to the green crocodile body. You need to keep pulling black blocks whenever they appear in your tray to dissolve this barrier. Once a gap opens in the outline around the tail and legs you can pull your first green block. Pull the green thirty block into your waiting slots. The green ants will climb up the right side and pour into the tail section. At this same time you should pull another white block to keep pushing the center path higher into the apron. By working the green tail on the right and the white apron in the middle you widen the entry point for your entire colony. Your waiting slots remain safe because the ants have plenty of surface area to attack. Always watch the black tiles. The black outline acts as a solid wall. If you ignore the black blocks your green ants will eventually run out of exposed tiles and your slots will jam.
Step 3: Flood the upper crocodile body and the tall white chef hat
The lower half of the picture is now mostly gone. This gives your ants a massive wide open path to the top half of the board. Pull the green thirty five block and the green fifty block into your active slots. These green ants will swarm the large snout and the upper head of the crocodile. You will also see a massive white section above the head. This is the chef hat. Pull a large white block like the white forty nine to send a dedicated stream of ants up to the hat. The pathing here works perfectly because the green tiles are on the left and the white tiles are on the right and top. The ants will naturally separate and avoid slowing each other down. You must continue to manage your tray carefully. Throw in a black block to chew away the outline around the hat and the snout. Keeping three active colors running simultaneously ensures your five waiting slots always have room for the next move.
Step 4: Send the orange ants up the right side background border
You have ignored the massive orange background for a few steps to focus on the character. Now that the right side of the crocodile is completely clear you have a direct superhighway up the right edge of the screen. Pull one of your largest orange blocks into the waiting slots. You will likely use an orange sixty or orange forty two block here. The orange ants will stream all the way up the right side and begin devouring the huge block of background tiles in the top right corner. While the orange ants are making that long trip you should pull the light pink block to clear the tiny detail tiles on the crocodile. These pink tiles make up the claws and cheek accents. They are small but they block your green ants from reaching the final few tiles of the snout. Clearing the pink tiles keeps the internal green paths open and prevents a late game traffic jam in your waiting slots.
Step 5: Feed the remaining ants to the brown Hungry Door
Your ants are now working near the top edge of the board. You will finally reach the brown Hungry Door sitting in the top left corner. The game rules state that you must clear all required colors to open the door. As your white ants finish the left side of the chef hat and your black ants finish the outline they will hit the door structure. The door absorbs these ants and its counter drops from thirty five down to zero. You do not need to pull a special block for the door itself. You just need to keep feeding it the ants that travel up the left side of the picture. Once the door eats enough ants it will spring open and vanish from the board completely. This action is critical because the Hungry Door is hiding a large chunk of orange background tiles underneath. You must expose these hidden tiles before you pull your final orange blocks from the tray. If you pull all your orange blocks too early they will fill your slots and dead end because the target tiles are still trapped under the closed door.
Step 6: Deploy the final orange blocks to clear the hidden background tiles
The Hungry Door is gone and the final section of the puzzle is completely exposed. The entire top left corner consists of orange background tiles. Check your tray and pull the final massive orange blocks into your waiting slots. You might have an orange seventy five or an orange ninety eight waiting for you. Pull them right now. The orange ants will race up the left side of the screen and flood into the newly revealed corner. Since this is the only color left on the board you can safely fill multiple waiting slots with orange blocks without worrying about a jam. The ants have a massive surface area to attack so the blocks will drain quickly. Watch as the swarm consumes the final few corner pieces. Once the last orange tile disappears the ants will retreat back into their hole and you will beat the puzzle.
Final Thought
Playing through this puzzle requires careful attention to your tray and the active paths on the board. The massive background blocks can easily trick you into filling your waiting slots too early. Just remember to balance your colors and always chip away the black outlines to open new paths to the interior tiles. Keep your ants moving steadily and the hidden corner will eventually reveal itself. I strongly recommend you watch the video above this article if any step is hard to follow in text. The video shows the exact timing of every move and makes the tray management strategy very clear.
