Welcome to Colony Flow Level 51. You have a beautiful sunset picture to clear. I will guide you through exactly how to keep your wait slots open and finish the board. This specific puzzle features a landscape design made of bright pixel art. Playing this level requires careful planning because the paths are tight at the beginning. I played through this entire puzzle multiple times to find the absolute safest route. I mapped out the exact sequence to prevent the tray from jamming. You will need to manage a lock and key mechanism while handling some connected boxes in the tray. Everything you read here comes from my own gameplay experience.

Colony Flow Level 51 Overview

What You Are Working With

The picture shows a vibrant outdoor scene. A large yellow sun sits right in the middle of the board. Bright yellow rays stretch outward from the center of the sun toward the top and sides of the screen. Light blue sky fills all the negative spaces between those yellow rays. A solid green base forms rolling hills at the very bottom of the picture. Black tiles act as thick outlines separating the sun from the sky and the grass. You also have a couple of special elements to handle on this board. A yellow key sits directly on the left side of the green hills. Over on the right side of the sky you will find locked grey tiles blocking your access to the blue sky underneath them. The tray at the bottom holds your numbered colored blocks. You will spot a bright yellow line linking two specific yellow blocks together. These connected boxes will pull as a single unit when you tap them.

What It Takes to Clear Level 51 Board

Clearing this board requires a deliberate and steady approach. You cannot just pull blocks from the tray at random. You have exactly five waiting slots at the bottom of your screen. If you fill all five waiting slots with colors that the ants cannot reach right now you will lose the level instantly. Your primary goal early on is to reach that key on the green grass. Securing the key removes the locked tiles from the sky and opens up the right side of the board for your ants. From there you will strip away the light blue sky and the black outlines. This exposes the main yellow sun in the center. Finally you will unleash the massive connected yellow blocks to flood the board with ants and consume the remaining picture. Keeping at least one active path open is the only way to win.

Colony Flow Level 51 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Clear the initial grass and outer sky edges.

Your first moves must open up paths on the very outside of the picture. Start by pulling a yellow block and a green block into your waiting slots. The ants will immediately stream out of the nest hole at the bottom. They will crawl up the sides of the board and target the outer edges of the yellow rays and the green grass. By feeding a small green block you allow the colony to start chewing away at the outer layer of the hills. This gives you a safe path to keep pulling green blocks without jamming your tray. Always make sure the ants have an open route to the color you select before you tap a block. The early game is all about shaving down the exterior layers. Notice how the ants form a continuous line along the edges of the screen. They hug the walls to reach the top rays. Keep your eyes on the numbers on your tray blocks. When a block number reaches zero that slot opens up for a new color. Do not rush this process. Let the initial yellow and green ants finish their meals.

Step 2: Push deep into the left hill to grab the yellow key.

With the outer green edges cleared you now have a direct line to the special key tile. Pull the next available green blocks from your tray into your waiting slots. You will see the numbers on the blocks count down rapidly as the ants swarm the grassy area on the left. Focus your attention entirely on the left side of the green base. Once the ants consume the green tiles directly touching the key the game automatically collects it for you. Gathering this key triggers an animation that instantly unlocks the grey locked tiles on the right side of the sky. Those restricted tiles immediately revert to standard light blue tiles.

Step 3: Strip away the newly unlocked light blue sky sections.

Now that the entire sky is unlocked you can safely bring light blue blocks into play. Tap the light blue blocks in your tray and send them up to the empty waiting slots. The blue ants will march out of the hole and travel around the perimeter. They will attack the blue sections located between the yellow sun rays. The numbers on your light blue blocks will drop steadily as the ants clear out large chunks of the sky. Make sure you wait for the ants to finish a blue section before you overload the waiting slots with another color. Keeping the slots active and moving is the only way to survive this middle phase of the level. The light blue tiles are spread out in wedges between the yellow rays. This means your blue ants will have to split up and travel to different sections of the upper board. Watch as they march along the newly cleared paths. They will slowly eat the blue wedges from the outside moving inward toward the black outlines.

Step 4: Dismantle the heavy black outlines.

The black tiles act as rigid barriers between the sun and the rest of the board. With the sky gone and the grass reduced the black outlines are fully exposed. Pull a black block into your waiting slots. A swarm of black ants will rush out and follow the paths you just opened through the sky. They will eat the thick borders around the sun rays and the main horizontal line separating the sun from the grass. This step completely breaks the structure of the picture. The board now looks much more open and your ants have significantly shorter travel times to reach their final targets.

Step 5: Deploy the connected yellow boxes from the tray.

Look closely at your tray and find the two yellow blocks joined by a glowing yellow line. Because you cleared the black outlines the main yellow sun is completely vulnerable to attack. Tap the connected yellow boxes. Both blocks will move up into your waiting slots at the exact same time. These blocks hold very high numbers which means they contain a massive amount of ants. You will watch a huge wave of yellow ants pour out of the nest hole. They will flood the center of the board and rapidly devour the large sun body and the thick sun rays. This process takes a lot of bites so be patient and let the numbers drain completely before making your next move. The yellow line connecting these blocks in the tray means you cannot pull them separately. They share a bond. When you tap one both jump up to the active slots. This mechanic is incredibly useful for clearing large structures like the sun because it delivers a massive payload of ants exactly when you need them most.

Step 6: Clear the remaining thick green hill sections.

While the yellow ants handle the massive sun you can start cleaning up the rest of the grass at the bottom. Pull the remaining heavy green blocks from the tray. The green ants will target the right side of the hills and the thick bottom layers near the nest hole. Your waiting slots might get a little crowded here if you pull too fast. Just monitor the board and make sure the green ants still have open green tiles to eat. As long as they keep finding food the numbers will drop and the slots will clear out. The picture will start to look very empty at this point in the level.

Step 7: Mop up the final scattered picture tiles.

The board is nearly finished and victory is very close. You only have a few straggling blocks left in your tray. Look at the remaining colors on the board and match them carefully. Pull the last light blue block to clean up the final piece of sky on the right. Pull the final black block to eat the last remaining border piece near the center. Then pull the last yellow block to finish off the very center of the sun. The ants will sprint across the empty white board to grab these final few tiles. Once the last tile vanishes the level is complete. You successfully managed the lock mechanics and kept your tray clear the whole time.

Final Thought

Colony Flow Level 51 tests your ability to prioritize targets and manage special tiles under pressure. Rushing the light blue blocks before securing the key will completely ruin your run and fill your waiting slots with blocked ants. Always focus on opening the board one section at a time to ensure a smooth flow of resources. If you find any of these movements confusing to follow in text I highly encourage you to watch the video above this article. The video shows the exact block sequence and pathing in real time so you can match your gameplay to mine.
