Welcome to Colony Flow Level 239 where you face a fun pixel art character holding a spear. This board requires careful block management because you have to carve your way inward from the outer right edge. You will guide your colony through solid background blocks and specific tool sections before you can even reach the main character body. I will walk you through exactly how I cleared this board so you can keep your waiting slots empty and win the level.

Colony Flow Level 239 Overview

What You Are Working With

You load into the level and see a large pixel art picture occupying the top half of your screen. The picture looks like a furry forest creature wearing a hood and holding a tall weapon. The creature features a dark brown face with black pixels for the eyes and nose. Around the face sits a bright orange hood with a thick yellow trim. The arms and legs are made of brown tiles. The creature has a grey square section on its stomach that looks like a belt buckle. To the right side of the creature stands a tall red spear topped with a white spear tip. A solid field of green background tiles surrounds the entire character and the spear.

Below the board you have your tray filled with colored numbered blocks. The top row gives you an Orange 32 block, a Brown 30 block, a Yellow 30 block, and a Green 32 block. The rows underneath hold more blocks including an Orange 30 block and a Green 35 block. You also have two hidden boxes sitting in the lower rows displaying question marks instead of numbers. Another special feature in your tray involves connected boxes. You will see two yellow blocks joined together by a visual link line. Pulling one of these yellow blocks forces the other block to follow it directly into the waiting slots.

What It Takes to Clear Level 239 Board

To win this level you must clear every single pixel from the picture above. The core challenge comes from the five waiting slots located just below the picture. Every block you pull from the tray goes directly into these five slots. The ants travel from their nest hole to the picture to eat the tiles that match the blocks in your slots. If you fill all five slots with colors that the ants cannot reach yet, the board dead ends and you lose the level immediately.

You must always maintain an open path for your colony. On this specific board the ants start their journey by walking all the way over to the far right edge of the picture. The left side and the bottom side are completely blocked off at the start. You have to carve your way into the picture starting from the right edge green background. You will systematically peel back the tile layers from right to left until the entire board is empty.

Colony Flow Level 239 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Feed the ants the right side green background tiles.

The ants emerge from the dark nest hole at the bottom of the screen. They travel all the way to the right side of the screen because that is the only open entry point to the picture. The rest of the picture is completely blocked by closed borders. The ants find a solid wall of green background tiles waiting for them on that right edge. You need to pull a green block from your tray to get them working and eating. Look at your top row of blocks and pull the Green 32 block into your empty waiting slots. The ants will swarm up the right side and begin consuming the green pixels one by one. You must let them finish this entire right side section before pulling random colors into your tray. Removing this green outer layer is strictly mandatory because it exposes the inner sections of the picture. Watch the numbers on the green block count down to zero as the right side of the background completely vanishes from the board.

Step 2: Clear the vertical red spear obstacle.

screenshot

With the right side green tiles gone your ants now stand face to face with the tall red spear. This spear forms a solid vertical wall that completely blocks your colony from moving left into the character body. You must clear this weapon to proceed deeper into the level. Look through your tray and pull a red block into your waiting slots. The ants will climb up and down the red shaft and eat away the tiles. Clearing the red spear is a massive relief for your board state. The removal of these red tiles opens up a huge surface area touching the right arm and the hood of the character. You now have a wide open path into the main body.

Step 3: Attack the brown arm and the orange hood.

Your colony now has direct access to the brown tiles making up the right arm and the orange tiles making up the character hood. You want to pull blocks that match these newly opened paths. Go to your tray and pull a brown block to target the arm. Next pull an orange block to target the hood. The colony splits into two massive groups and tackles both colors at the exact same time. The numbers on your brown and orange blocks will steadily decrease as the ants consume the arm and the outer layer of the hood. You must keep a close eye on your five waiting slots during this step. Let the ants clear a significant chunk of the arm and hood before you decide to load more blocks into the tray. Overcrowding your slots right now will cause a fatal dead end.

Step 4: Reach the dark brown face and the white spear tip.

As the right arm and the right side of the orange hood disappear you uncover entirely new sections hidden deeper inside the pixel art. The top of the red spear left behind an isolated white spear tip in the upper right corner. The removal of the orange hood exposes the dark brown face and the tiny black pixels forming the eyes and nose. This is the perfect time to pull the White 13 block from your tray to clean up that floating spear tip. You also need to pull a black block to let the ants eat the eyes and nose quickly. For the face itself pull a dark brown block into your waiting slots. The ants will swarm the face tiles and clear them out fast. Removing the face gives your colony direct access to the exact center of the character.

Step 5: Clear the grey belt area and the yellow trim.

The center of the board opens up drastically once the face is out of the way. Your ants will naturally move downward to reach the grey belt area and move outward to reach the yellow trim bordering the hood. Look for your grey blocks in the tray and pull one into the waiting slots. The ants will easily sweep through the belt tiles. Next you turn your full attention to the yellow trim. You have connected boxes in your tray for the yellow color. Look for the yellow blocks joined by a thick link line. Pulling one of these blocks automatically pulls the other connected block with it. Send these yellow blocks to the waiting slots so the ants can swarm the yellow trim around the face and body. The connected boxes clear as a united group and wipe out a massive chunk of the yellow tiles all at once.

Step 6: Reveal the hidden boxes and attack the left arm.

screenshot

You are now pushing past the center of the board and reaching the left side of the character. The left brown arm and the bottom brown legs are completely exposed. You also have clear access to the bottom section of the green background. Pull another brown block from your tray to send your ants into the left arm and the legs. At the exact same time you want to pull a green block to start clearing the bottom background area. Clearing the upper layers of blocks in your tray finally unlocks the hidden boxes we saw at the very beginning of the level. The question marks drop away to reveal their true colors and numbers. One of those hidden boxes reveals itself as a massive Green 35 block. You absolutely need this green block for the final cleanup phase.

Step 7: Sweep the massive remaining green background.

screenshot

The final phase of the board focuses entirely on the remaining green background taking up the left and top sides of the screen. The furry character is completely gone and you are left with nothing but a huge wall of green tiles. You have several green blocks ready in your tray including the newly revealed Green 35 block. Pull your remaining green blocks into your waiting slots. Your entire colony will flood the left side of the screen and sweep violently upward into the top left corner. The ants devour the remaining green pixels in a giant wave of movement. Keep feeding them any remaining green blocks until the very last background tile disappears. The screen clears completely and you successfully beat the board.

Final Thought

This board rewards players who stay patient and clear the obstacles in the exact order the path allows. You must respect the red spear wall and clear it completely before rushing into the orange hood. Keep your waiting slots free by only pulling colors that actively touch empty space. If you ever feel stuck on a particular sequence of pulls I highly encourage you to watch the video above this article. Seeing the ants move in real time makes the correct pathing incredibly obvious and will help you clear the board with ease.
