Welcome back to another puzzle guide. Today you tackle Colony Flow Level 680. This level presents a beautiful flower picture but it packs a serious challenge with its tray layout. You need to clear the base carefully to unlock the paths to the glass dome and eventually grab the key at the very top. I play every single level to figure out the best routes so you do not have to guess. Follow my moves below to keep your ants moving and beat this board on your first try.
Colony Flow Level 680 Overview
What You Are Working With
The pixel art picture for this board is full of detail. The main centerpiece is a bright red rose with dark green leaves. This flower sits entirely encased inside a white glass dome. The dome rests on a textured dirt base made of brown and orange tiles with black shadow details. Behind the dome is a night sky background filled with light cyan tiles at the bottom and dark blue tiles at the top. Several white stars dot the sky. The yellow key sits perfectly at the top center arch of the white glass dome. Your tray holds several single color blocks and a few connected blocks. A connected block links two colors together. You will also see a yellow lock sitting on one of the tray slots. This lock hides the blocks underneath it until you collect the yellow key from the top of the picture.
What It Takes to Clear Level 680 Board
You begin with a completely blocked upper board. The ants come out of the nest hole at the bottom and can only reach the dirt base. You must pull the correct bottom colors to eat away the soil. Clearing the brown and orange tiles opens up new paths to the left and right sides of the blue sky. It also opens the path straight up the middle to the white dome. The game places several connected blocks in your tray. A connected block pulls two colors into the waiting slots at the exact same time. If you pull a connected block when only one color has an open path the other color will sit in your waiting slots and block traffic. You lose the level if all five waiting slots fill up and the ants stop moving. Your main goal is to clear the white dome from the bottom to the top so you can collect the yellow key. Getting the key removes the yellow lock in your tray and lets you access the final blocks needed to finish the level.
Colony Flow Level 680 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Clear the brown and orange base layer to open paths upward
You start the level with no access to the rose or the sky. The ants can only touch the very bottom row of the picture. Look at your tray and pull the brown 55 block. The brown ants will march out of the hole and spread across the bottom dirt base. Follow this immediately by pulling the orange 20 block. Orange ants will join the brown ants to eat the detailed soil layers. As the ants consume the base the numbers on your blocks will count down to zero and disappear from the waiting slots. You will see paths open up on the left and right sides of the board. The bottom of the white glass dome will also become exposed. You successfully created multiple routes for the ants to travel. Opening the board early is the secret to winning because it gives you options. You never want to be stuck pulling a block that has nowhere to go.
Step 2: Deploy the cyan and black blocks for the lower background areas
Now that the dirt base is mostly gone you have access to the lighter sky and the dark shadows. Bring up the cyan 30 block to send ants to the lower sky background. Pull the black 15 block to handle the dark outline tiles on the bottom. You will notice a connected block in your tray that holds a black 2 and a cyan 28. This is the perfect time to pull that connected pair. Both the black tiles and the cyan tiles have completely open paths right now. The ants will stream out and clear their respective colors without jamming your five waiting slots. Keep the flow moving by pulling another pink 10 block to handle the pink details on the lower side of the base. Managing these smaller blocks quickly keeps your tray cycling properly.
Step 3: Work on the white stars and the green rose leaves
The left and right edges of the board are opening up nicely. You now have a clear shot at the white stars in the sky and the white glass dome. Pull the white 13 block into the tray. White ants will travel up the sides to eat the stars and begin munching on the glass dome outline. At the same time you can pull the green 41 block. Green ants will walk straight up the middle where the dirt used to be. They will start consuming the green leaves of the rose. Do not pull any red blocks yet. The red rose petals are still trapped inside the white dome. If you pull a red block now it will sit in your waiting slot and create a dangerous bottleneck that will cost you the game. Always verify the ants have a clear line of sight to the color you want to pull. The green ants will finish their section quickly and leave the center clear for the next wave.
Step 4: Push up the glass dome outline to reach the yellow key
Your next major target is the yellow key sitting at the top of the board. Pull the white 40 block to keep a massive stream of white ants working on the glass dome. Bring up the blue 50 block to clear the darker blue sky tiles higher up on the board. The blue ants will clear the space around the dome while the white ants eat the dome itself. Watch the top center of the board closely. The white ants will eventually eat the final white tiles directly touching the yellow key. Once those tiles vanish the game automatically collects the key for you. The yellow lock in your tray will immediately break open. You now have full access to every remaining block hidden in your tray. This unlocks the entire upper section of the level.
Step 5: Send the red ants to devour the exposed rose petals
With the white dome gone and the tray unlocked you can finally attack the main centerpiece. The red rose is wide open. Pull the red 31 block into your waiting slots. A huge swarm of red ants will flood the center of the board and rapidly consume the rose petals. Bring up the pink 14 block to clear the bright pink highlight tiles on the flower. The entire middle of the board will shrink away. Pull the purple 2 block to clear the tiny purple details near the top of the flower stem. Always ensure you only pull one or two blocks at a time so your waiting slots remain clear. The board will look very empty at this point with only the top corners and a few straggling pieces remaining. You are very close to finishing the level now.
Step 6: Handle the final connected blocks and clear the remaining sky
Look at your tray to find a large connected pair holding a blue 50 block and a red 52 block. Both of these colors have massive open paths right now. Pull this connected pair without hesitation. The red ants will run up the middle and finish off the very last rose petals. The blue ants will split left and right to swarm the top corners of the night sky. Bring up the final orange 15 block to clean up the last few orange tiles left at the very bottom center. Pull the last blue 36 and blue 32 blocks to feed the remaining blue sky. The ants will clear the final corner tiles and empty the board completely. You win the level. Watching the final pieces disappear is incredibly satisfying after navigating such a crowded board.
Final Thought
You just beat a highly layered puzzle by managing your paths perfectly. Dealing with connected blocks requires patience and good timing so you never block your waiting slots. Collecting the key at the right moment keeps your tray flowing smoothly. Watch the video above this article if you want to see exactly how these moves look in action.
