Welcome to Colony Flow Level 480. You face a beautiful pixel art picture of a house complete with a bright red roof and a big green tree in the front yard. I play every single level to figure out the best clear order so you do not have to guess. I will show you exactly how to empty the tray and guide your ants to victory without jamming your slots.

Colony Flow Level 480 Overview

What You Are Working With

The picture at the top of your screen shows a large two story house. You have a massive red roof sitting on top of bright purple walls. A green tree with a thick brown trunk stands on the left side of the yard. You also see a blue door and blue windows surrounded by white accents. A huge cyan sky sits in the background behind white puffy clouds and smoke coming from the chimney.

Down in your tray you have a complex stack of blocks. You start with standard colored blocks like white and purple and yellow. You also face hidden boxes that conceal their true color under a grey surface with a question mark. These hidden boxes only reveal their color once you clear the blocks resting on top of them. You will also deal with connected boxes. These are two different colored blocks permanently linked together. Finally you have a locked red block. You must find and play the block carrying the key before you can use that red block.

What It Takes to Clear Level 480 Board

You clear the board by matching the colored blocks in your tray to the colored pixels in the picture. When you tap a block it moves up into one of your five waiting slots. A colony of ants streams out of the nest hole and runs up the open paths to eat the matching pixels. Each block has a number that counts down as the ants consume the picture.

The core rule of the game dictates your entire strategy. You only have five waiting slots. If you fill all five slots with blocks and the ants cannot reach their matching colors on the board you lose the level instantly. You must constantly monitor the paths. Every move you make must keep at least one path open so your ants keep flowing and your slots stay clear.

Colony Flow Level 480 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Play the white block to clear the clouds and smoke.

You start the level by targeting the upper sections of the sky. Tap the white block in your tray to send it up into your first waiting slot. The white ants emerge from the nest and follow the open path all the way up to the top of the house. They immediately begin eating the white smoke billowing from the chimney and the white clouds floating in the cyan sky. The number on the white block counts down rapidly as the ants clear these pixels. This move is incredibly safe because the white pixels sit right on the outer edges of the picture and have wide open paths from the start. Clearing the white pixels removes a large barrier and exposes the purple walls and the cyan sky for your next moves.

Step 2: Release the purple block to break down the house walls.

With the clouds gone you have a direct path to the main structure of the house. Tap the single purple block to move it into your slots. A huge swarm of purple ants floods out of the nest. They run up the right side of the picture and begin tearing into the purple walls of the house. The purple section is massive so this block will sit in your slot for a little while as the number drops. You want to play this block early because it clears out the entire center of the board. Opening up the center gives your future ants a straight highway to the roof and the windows. Your slots remain safe because the purple ants have an unobstructed path to their food.

Step 3: Play the connected blue and purple blocks to clear the windows.

You now face your first set of connected boxes. Tap the linked blue and purple blocks in your tray. They drop into your waiting slots together and instantly take up two spaces. You must play these connected blocks carefully because they eat up your slot capacity fast. The blue ants rush up the middle to eat the blue front door and the blue window panes. At the same time the new purple ants join the surviving purple pixels on the outer walls. The blue door sits right at the bottom center of the house so the ants reach it instantly. Clearing the door and windows hollows out the bottom of the house and creates a massive shortcut for the rest of your colony.

Step 4: Drop the brown block and another purple block to clear the tree.

Look at the left side of the yard to find a tall tree with a thick trunk. Tap the brown block and another purple block from your tray. The brown ants target the tree trunk while the purple ants finish off the remaining edges of the house walls. The brown trunk blocks access to a large chunk of the green leaves above it. Removing the trunk right now guarantees that your green ants will have a clear path later. You currently have a few blocks sitting in your slots but the ants are moving constantly. None of the paths are dead ends so your slots will naturally empty out as the ants finish their assigned colors.

Step 5: Gather the key from the yellow block and play the connected green and red blocks.

screenshot

You have a locked red block in your tray that you desperately need for the roof. Look for the yellow block carrying the key icon and play it. The yellow ants run up to eat the yellow accents scattered around the background. Once they finish you collect the key and the padlock breaks off the red block. Now tap the connected light green and red blocks. These two blocks take up two more slots. The light green ants swarm the tree leaves and the grass on the left side of the yard. The red ants finally begin their assault on the giant red roof. The roof spans the entire top of the house so the red ants have plenty of work to do.

Step 6: Flood the sky with the cyan block and reinforce the red roof.

The cyan sky takes up almost the entire background of the picture. Tap the cyan block in your tray to send it into a slot. You also want to tap the next red block to send a second wave of red ants to the roof. The cyan ants run around the outer edges of the screen to eat the vast expanse of blue sky. The red ants chew through the remaining roof tiles and the chimney. You have four slots filled at this moment but you are in no danger of losing. The sky and the roof are completely exposed. The ants have massive open paths to their targets and the block numbers count down very fast.

Step 7: Empty the tray and finish the scattered remaining pixels.

screenshot

You only have a few blocks left in your tray. Tap the remaining blue brown purple and green blocks to drop them into your slots. These final blocks handle the tiny scattered details left behind from the main clear. The blue ants clean up a few leftover window edges. The brown ants finish a tiny patch of dirt. The green ants eat the last pieces of grass sitting at the bottom of the board. Since you cleared the big obstacles early these final ants just run straight to their targets without any delay. The last colored pixel vanishes from the board. Your tray is completely empty and you win the level.

Final Thought

Level 480 looks intimidating because of the connected blocks and the locked tray items but it flows perfectly once you open the center. Always clear the white clouds and the purple walls first to build a highway for your ants. If you struggle to visualize how the connected blocks drop into the slots please watch the video above this article to see the exact timing in action.
