Welcome to Colony Flow Level 504. I am Liam Stone and I am here to help you beat this highly engaging puzzle. This particular level presents a beautiful pixel art picture of a giant mushroom sitting in a grassy field under a starry night sky. You need to manage a crowded tray and a complex layout of colors to win. I play every stage thoroughly and I am sharing my exact method to help you clear the board without filling up your waiting slots. You will learn the exact order to pull the blocks and how to keep your ants moving freely.

Colony Flow Level 504 Overview

What You Are Working With

You have a gorgeous night scene to dismantle from the top down. The picture includes a large red mushroom cap supported by a bright pink stem. Green grass covers the ground and small light blue flowers sit among the green grassy tiles. A massive black night sky fills the entire top half of the screen. Yellow stars dot the dark sky in scattered places. Your tray holds multiple layers of colored blocks with various numbers. You will encounter connected boxes that pull out together as a single unit. You will also see a green box protected by a lock and a hidden box displaying a question mark on its face.

What It Takes to Clear Level 504 Board

To beat this puzzle you must clear the outer grass and the deep black sky before you dig too deep into the central mushroom structure. Your main threat is filling all five waiting slots at the bottom of the screen. If you pull blocks that have no open path to their matching tiles the ants completely stop moving and the board jams. You immediately lose the level the moment all five slots fill up with dead ends. You must carefully pull blocks that match open tiles on the edge of the picture to keep a steady flow of ants marching out of the nest and onto the board.

Colony Flow Level 504 Step by Step Solution

Step 1: Pull the initial green and dark blue blocks to open the outer paths

The start of the level requires you to open up some working space around the bottom. Look at your tray and select the initial dark blue block and the green block. These colors correspond to the sky background and the thick grassy field at the bottom. When you pull these blocks into your waiting slots the ants immediately pour out of the nest hole. They follow the open paths to the outer borders of the pixel art. The numbers on your blocks drop rapidly as the tiny ants carry away the pieces. Keeping these active paths open ensures your slots do not jam early on in the level. You want a constant stream of ants working on the outer boundaries.

Step 2: Bring out the light blue block to clear the small floral accents

screenshot

You will see bright light blue flowers nestled tightly inside the green grass section. Once the outer grass begins to vanish the paths to these little flowers become fully accessible to your colony. Tap the light blue block in your tray to move it into a waiting slot. A new swarm of ants targets these specific tiles and rushes to collect them. Clearing the flowers breaks up the solid wall of grass at the bottom of the picture. This action creates excellent new entry points for your ants to reach the inner sections of the picture without getting blocked by surrounding colors.

Step 3: Deploy the massive black block to conquer the large night sky

screenshot

The top half of the picture consists of a giant black sky that requires a lot of work. Your tray holds a black block with a very high number printed on it. Pull this black block into the waiting area as soon as you have a free slot. You want this high number block working immediately because it takes a long time for the ants to eat through that many dark tiles. The ants will march up the outer sides of the board to reach the black sky tiles. Having this black block active guarantees that at least one of your five slots is constantly feeding ants and will never cause a sudden dead end.

Step 4: Use the connected pink boxes to dismantle the central mushroom stem

screenshot

Your tray contains pink blocks linked firmly together as connected boxes. When you select one piece the attached boxes pull into the waiting slots right alongside it. The pink tiles form the thick stem of the giant mushroom directly in the center of the board. You now have wide open paths leading straight to the center. Pull the connected pink boxes into your open slots. The ants swarm the center and quickly eat away the pink stem. This specific action splits the remaining pixel art into separate distinct zones which makes the rest of the board much easier to manage.

Step 5: Activate the red blocks to dismantle the massive mushroom cap

screenshot

The bright red mushroom cap is the most prominent feature left on the entire board. You have multiple red blocks waiting in your lower tray. Tap the first red block to send your ants climbing toward the dead center of the picture. The red tiles sit high up so the ants desperately need the paths you cleared through the green grass and the pink stem to reach them. As the ants consume the red tiles the giant mushroom cap shrinks rapidly. Keep a close eye on your waiting slots and only pull a second red block if the first one finishes completely.

Step 6: Handle the green lock box once you meet the hidden requirements

screenshot

You noticed a green block with a distinct lock on it at the very start of the puzzle. As you clear the surrounding colors and progress through the various tray layers this lock finally breaks open. You now have full access to a very large green block. Pull this newly unlocked green block into an available waiting slot. The ants will surge forward to consume the massive remaining chunks of green grass on the extreme left and right sides of the board. This strategic move completely exposes the final few colors trapped near the very edges of the playing field.

Step 7: Target the yellow stars scattered across the upper sky section

screenshot

Bright yellow stars dot the remaining black sky at the very top of the board. These tiny yellow tiles sit extremely far apart from one another. Pull the first yellow block from your tray into a slot. The ants must travel a very long distance to reach these highly isolated spots. Because the total travel time is long you should avoid pulling too many other blocks at the exact same time. Give the ants plenty of time to navigate the empty space and clear the yellow stars. Rushing this specific step will easily jam your remaining open slots and ruin your progress.

Step 8: Play the hidden box to reveal its mystery color and clear the tiles

A gray block with a large question mark sits deep in your bottom tray. This is the hidden box and it will not reveal its true color until you pull it into a waiting slot. Ensure you have at least two empty slots before you decide to pull it out. When you tap the hidden box it snaps to the bottom row and instantly reveals its true color. Because you already opened up the entire board the ants will immediately find a completely valid path to the matching tiles. The mystery color clears perfectly without causing any frustrating traffic jams.

Step 9: Deploy the final connected blocks to mop up the scattered tiles

Near the very end of the puzzle you will uncover a pair of connected dark blue and light blue blocks. Pull these combined blocks into the waiting slots. By this late point only a small handful of scattered tiles remain on the outer edges of the picture. The ants will aggressively hunt down these last few stragglers. The connected blocks take up two waiting slots instantly so you must absolutely confirm the board is mostly empty before making this bold move. The ants will easily finish the remaining blue tiles in just a few short seconds.

Step 10: Clear the absolute last yellow and black blocks to finish the picture

The board is virtually empty at this final stage of the puzzle. Your tray shows only the last remaining yellow and black blocks. Tap them sequentially to send out the absolute last few waves of ants from the nest. They will march straight to the final tiles at the very top edge of the board. Once the tiny ants consume the last piece of the pixel art the level ends in a glorious victory. Your waiting slots remain totally clear and you successfully avoided any deadly dead ends.

Final Thought

Level 504 requires intense patience and extremely careful tray management to beat. If you open the outer paths first and keep a watchful eye on your available slots you will conquer this puzzle with absolute ease. I found that dealing with the massive black sky early makes the rest of the board feel incredibly simple.
