Colony Flow Level 1174 Overview
What You Are Working With
Colony Flow Level 1174 presents a massive and colorful pixel art portrait. You will face a character with bright pink hair and huge dark glasses set over a vibrant green background. The top of the board features text spelling out the words LEVEL UP in bright red and pink tiles. The character wears a blue and cyan shirt with yellow accents. The background consists of solid green squares interspersed with light green arrows pointing upward. Your tray sits at the bottom of the screen holding a variety of numbered color blocks. This level features the Connected Boxes mechanic. Connected Boxes are blocks linked together in your tray. You have to pull them as a single group which means they will occupy multiple waiting slots at the exact same time. This requires careful planning so you do not overwhelm your available space.
What It Takes to Clear Level 1174 Board
Your ultimate goal is to send your ant colony to eat every single colored tile on the board. You feed and steer the colony by pulling the numbered color blocks from the tray at the bottom of the screen. Each block holds a specific number that counts down as the ants consume the matching tiles. Matching the right color block to the matching food tiles clears those tiles from the picture. You win the level when the picture is completely empty and your ants finish eating the final pieces. However you must carefully manage your five waiting slots. If you pull a block into a waiting slot and the ants cannot find an open path to reach their matching color the block will sit there and jam the slot. If blocks fill all five waiting slots and no ants can move you lose the level immediately. Every move you make must keep at least one path open for the ants so the waiting slots never jam. You must clear outer layers first to carve out safe travel routes for your colony.
Colony Flow Level 1174 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Start by clearing the light green borders to create breathing room
You begin the level with a packed board and a tray full of blocks. Look at the top row of your tray to see several magenta and white blocks. Do not touch them yet because the outer edges of the character are blocking the way. Find the light green block with the number 11 on it and tap it. A stream of light green ants will pour out of the nest hole at the bottom of the screen. They will march up the sides of the board to eat the light green tiles scattered around the outer edges. The 11 on the block will count down to zero as the ants finish the light green edges. This move creates crucial breathing room for future blocks. Always prioritize the outer edges first so your ants do not get trapped trying to reach the center of the picture.
Step 2: Send red ants to eat the red text at the top of the board
Clear the red text from the top of the picture to open the upper pathways. Look at the top of the pixel art where the words LEVEL UP sit in bright red and pink tiles. You need to clear the red parts right now. Tap the red blocks in your tray including the large red block with the number 33 on it. The red ants will flow out and travel all the way to the top of the screen. Watch the 33 count down to zero as they dismantle the red letters piece by piece. The words will slowly vanish from the top edge. Clearing the top section early prevents you from getting stuck later in the game. If you leave the top for last you risk blocking the lower paths with other colored ants and filling your five waiting slots entirely.
Step 3: Clear the blue and cyan shirt sections at the bottom center
Now that the top and outer edges have some space you can focus on the bottom. The character wears a blue and cyan shirt. Locate the cyan blocks in your tray such as the 16 cyan block and the 7 cyan block. Tap them to move them into your open slots. The 16 and 7 will count down as the cyan ants quickly swarm the bottom of the portrait and eat the blue tiles covering the chest and shoulders. This is a very safe move because the cyan tiles sit right next to the nest hole. The ants do not have to travel far to reach their food. Fast travel times mean your waiting slots empty out much quicker and keep you safe from a sudden jam. You want the ants to spend less time walking and more time eating.
Step 4: Target the bright pink hair and clothing details with magenta blocks
The character has a massive head of pink hair that takes up a huge portion of the board. You also see pink sections on the jacket near the bottom. Your tray is full of magenta blocks with high numbers like 25 and 35. Start pulling these magenta blocks into your waiting slots. You will see numbers like 25 tick down to zero as the magenta ants climb up through the paths you created in the previous steps. Ensure you only pull one or two at a time so you do not overwhelm your five slots. If you pull too many magenta blocks at once they will sit in the slots waiting for the first group of ants to finish eating. They will eat away the giant pink hair and the jacket trim. As the pink tiles vanish the board will start to look incredibly bare which opens up massive travel lanes for the rest of your colony.
Step 5: Use the connected purple and black blocks to clear the dark glasses
This level introduces the Connected Boxes mechanic in your tray. You will notice a purple block with the number 5 linked directly to a black block with the number 10. When you pull one you pull both at the exact same time. They will take up two of your five waiting slots instantly. Tap this connected pair to send them to the slots. The 5 and the 10 will both tick down to zero as the purple and black ants rush out to eat the dark shades and neck pieces on the face of the character. Because you cleared the pink hair and the blue shirt earlier the ants have a wide open path to the face. The glasses will disappear quickly and free up those two slots for your next crucial move. Managing these double block pulls correctly is the secret to winning the level safely.
Step 6: Release the massive connected chain to clear the green background
You will eventually reveal a massive chain of Connected Boxes in your tray. This chain includes a yellow block with a 6 followed by white and green blocks with high numbers like 32 and 24. This is the most dangerous pull of the entire level because it will fill almost all your empty slots at once. Tap the chain only when you are certain the green background and yellow arrow tiles are fully exposed and ready to be eaten. The ants will flood the board in a massive wave of yellow, white, and green. The numbers on the 32 green block and the 24 green block will rapidly drop to zero as the ants devour the solid green squares and the light green arrows making up the background. The board will shrink down to just a few remaining pieces after this massive feast.
Step 7: Clean up the final stray tiles using the remaining tray blocks
Only a small handful of tiles remain on the board at this point. Your tray will show a few small blocks like a 5 white, a 6 orange, and a 16 black. Pull these final blocks into your slots one by one to finish the job. The matching ants will scurry out to hunt down the last remaining pixels scattered across the board. Watch the numbers on the 5 white block and the 16 black block count down to zero as the ants finish their meal. The board will clear completely and the victory screen will appear. You have successfully navigated the board without ever trapping your ants or filling up your slots unnecessarily.
