Welcome back to another puzzle breakdown. I am Liam Stone and Colony Flow Level 37 presents a cute pixel art bear surrounded by flowers but do not let the friendly picture fool you. This board introduces some tricky hidden food tiles that can easily lock up your tray and ruin your run. I play every single level myself to find the absolute safest routes for the colony to travel. I will walk you through exactly how I beat this level and kept my ant colony moving without filling up my tray.
Colony Flow Level 37 Overview
What You Are Working With
The picture at the top of your screen shows a large brown bear sitting in a grassy green field decorated with white and yellow daisies. You have a massive tray full of orange brown, red brown, and light green number blocks waiting at the bottom. The bottom left and bottom right corners of the bear feature specific patches of grey tiles marked with white question marks. These are hidden food tiles. They keep their true colors a secret and physically block your progress until you clear at least one normal tile right next to them. You will also see a dark grey nose and eyes on the bear face which require dark grey blocks to clear.
What It Takes to Clear Level 37 Board
You need to dismantle the bear from the bottom up to expose those hidden food patches early in the level. If you ignore the question mark tiles you run the risk of pulling a block color you cannot use yet. That fills up your five waiting slots very quickly. A full tray with no working paths means an instant loss. Your primary goal is to carefully nibble away the lower grass and the lower brown fur to unlock the hidden sections before you commit to the massive blocks of color in the center. Every move you make must keep at least one path open for the ants so the waiting slots never jam. Frame your entire solution around never dead ending the board.
Colony Flow Level 37 Step by Step Solution
Step 1: Start with the bottom green border.
Your very first move requires opening up the lowest accessible tiles on the board. Look at the bottom edge of the pixel art. The light green grass runs along the very bottom of the picture right above the circular nest hole. Pull the first light green block from your tray and drop it into an empty waiting slot. The number drops as the light green ants stream out of the nest and consume the bottom row of grass. This creates a solid horizontal opening across the base of the board. Leaving this green grass untouched would completely block access to the lower half of the bear. Clearing it ensures your ants have room to maneuver for the rest of the puzzle.
Step 2: Eat into the lower orange brown body.
Once the lowest layer of grass is gone you have a direct path to the bottom edge of the bear figure. The bulk of the lower body consists of orange brown tiles. Tap an orange brown block from your tray to send out the next wave of ants. They march straight up from the bottom opening and chew into the main body of the character. You want to focus heavily on the left and right edges of this brown section. Clearing the orange brown fur right here is required because it sits directly adjacent to the hidden food tiles marked with question marks. Unlocking those grey tiles is your next immediate goal to prevent a tray jam.
Step 3: Unlock the hidden food zones.
As the orange brown ants clear the fur next to the grey tiles the question marks finally vanish. This unlocks the hidden food on both the left and right sides. The game reveals these mysterious spots to be a mix of dark grey tiles and white tiles with a few extra brown spots mixed in. You must clear adjacent tiles to reveal hidden food in this game and doing it early gives you a massive tactical advantage. You now know exactly which colors will get stuck in your tray if you pull blindly. Keep your waiting slots completely empty during this reveal process so you have plenty of room to react to the new colors.
Step 4: Clear the dark grey and white sections.
Now that you can see the dark grey and white tiles you need to clear them out of the way. Bring up a dark grey block and a white block from the tray into your open slots. The ants head toward the lower corners of the bear and consume the newly revealed food. Removing these specific patches keeps your board completely open. They form a thick physical wall on the lower left and lower right sides. If you leave them there they block the path to the remaining green grass and the white daisies higher up the board. Clearing them opens the left and right flanks and provides your colony with multiple travel routes.
Step 5: Hollow out the red brown shading.
The bear character has darker red brown shading along its left side and bottom edge to give it depth. Pull a red brown block from the tray into your waiting slots. The ants bypass the empty space where the dark grey tiles used to be and start eating the shaded fur. You will see the numbers on your red brown block tick down fast as the colony swarms the darker tiles. This step removes the thickest barrier between the bottom of the board and the main face of the bear. Always make sure your ants have a continuous path to the red brown tiles before you pull these heavy blocks.
Step 6: Tackle the middle orange brown face.
With the lower half of the bear mostly gone you can start dismantling the main face. Tap the large orange brown blocks from your tray. You will likely need to queue up two of these blocks to get through the sheer volume of orange brown tiles located in the center. The ants will flood the middle of the board and eat around the dark brown nose and eyes. Watch the five waiting slots very closely here. Allow the first orange brown block to completely empty out before you bring up another one. Overcrowding your slots right now will cause a jam and end your run instantly. Every move you make here must keep at least one path open for the colony.
Step 7: Clear the yellow flower centers.
The board features a few white daisies floating in the background on the left and right sides. Now that the main body of the bear is significantly reduced you have clear paths to these flowers. Tap a yellow block to deal with the flower centers first. The yellow ants travel up the empty sides of the board and eat the small yellow squares. You must clear these centers before you try to sweep the rest of the white petals. Pulling a white block too early will result in the white ants getting stuck behind the yellow centers which fills up a precious slot in your tray for no reason.
Step 8: Erase the remaining white petals.
After the yellow centers vanish the white petals are completely exposed and ready to clear. Pull your white blocks into the slots. The white ants march up both the left side and the right side of the screen to consume the daisy shapes. This completely removes the floral elements from the puzzle. Clearing the flowers provides a huge amount of physical space on the screen and fully exposes the upper green background tiles. Make sure the white block completely finishes its countdown and leaves your waiting slot before you move on to the final background sections. Managing your tray capacity remains your top priority all the way to the end.
Step 9: Sweep the upper green background.
The only background things left on the sides and top of the board are massive blocks of light green grass. Tap the remaining light green blocks from your tray. The ants stream up the completely empty lower half of the screen and start wrapping around the top of the bear head. They eat all the way to the upper corners of the board. This step will take a few moments because the light green ants have to travel quite a long distance from the nest hole to reach the very top edge. Let the animation play out and keep your hands off the tray until the green is completely gone.
Step 10: Finish the top edge of the bear.
Only the very top of the bear head and ears remain on the screen. These are a mix of dark grey and red brown tiles floating in empty space. Pull your final dark grey block to remove the ears and nose details that were left behind earlier. Then tap the last red brown block to clear the remaining top edge of the head. Your waiting slots should be nearly empty at this point. The ants finish the last few tiles at the top center of the board and the picture disappears completely. You have successfully managed your tray capacity and beat the level without dead ending the board.
Final Thought
Getting through this board requires patience and careful timing with the hidden food tiles. The trick is to always leave a working path open so your five tray slots never jam up on you. If you ever feel stuck on how to route the ants around the bear shape you can always watch the video above this article. Seeing the ants move in real time makes the whole process much easier to understand.
